More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Cassandra looked jealous as Annie kissed Alexavier on the cheek. At the same it it was unsure if she was jealous of the fact that she kissed him instead of her or the fact that she wanted to do that too.

"Well then...let's see what we have here." Alexavier said as he rubbed his cheek, That instant he 'attached' himself to their minds. Ready to give a few commands.

Annie crossed her arms and raised a brow at Cassandra, hiding her true thoughts behind a 'happy smile', Christian could see her true emotions, but she doubted the other two could, unless Alexavier did bother to probe her mind. The fact of the matter is Cassandra was a problem, so was Alexavier, they were both unbalanced, but unbalanced and intelligent bothered her a whole lot less than unbalanced and stupid and rash. Annie fell under 'stupid' and 'rash' to a point, but she wasn't mentally unbalanced, or at least she assumed she wasn't. And, Cassandra's emotions were too bizarre for Annie to even try to follow, maybe Christian who could sense emotions could keep up better. She was about to pinch the bridge of her nose in irritation when she noticed the shift of aura in the room and next door.

Annie hadn't intentionally been paying attention to them next door, or even the auras in the room she was in but she noticed it: Alexavier was about to pry into the minds of the occupants next door. She glanced at Alexavier, she had said she didn't care if he attacked Trinity and her crew, but that wasn't entirely true. "You changed who you are," Annie said quietly to Alexavier. She had already began to focus on his blood and Cassandra's, the question is would he be able to stop her attack before claiming control of her. Her voice was quiet as she warned, "You weren't so stupid before. Pick your priorities: Shane or the others. It's dangerous to take too many priorities on at once."

Ako stayed silent throughout the commute to the hotel, though he wished he'd been able to take his motorcycle. The shadows may be faster, but he was now useless if there was a chase and he was separated from Trinity. He simply stood behind Trinity and Theonis as they spoke with Annie and Shane, appearing relaxed with his hands in the pockets of his jacket.

He nodded when Trinity asked if her could shock the other meta unconscious. Of course he would be able to, very little could outrun electricity. Although, a tickle in the back of his mind told him it might still be too late.

Deora was about to answer Heather when Kerana and the others appeared. The idea of a pool sounded awesome, but she didn't want to force it on Heather. Larry seemed to have taken that upon himself, however. "Don't worry. Heather, it'll be fun!" She said, probably more excited for some pool time than she would have been before coming to Valhalla. Before it had just meant swimming. Now it meant an opportunity for practice.

"Huh? What do you mean mommy? I'm still her mommy." Alexavier said with his head hanging back. He had already blocked her from using her power. With a twist he looked at her." You shouldn't try to hurt us again mommy. We still remember the basement...Oh how we screamed as you hurt us mommy. MOMMY!" Alexavier screamed out. It quickly became a laughter.

"You really think I would let you kill me? Stupid mother playing dangerous games in front of her son. You see....I gave you and your kid a little...mental blockade. You can still use your power...as long as it doesn't directly..or indirectly hurt us. Even if you somehow bypass it...your son would...well...let's not spoil everything shall we?" He was basking in his own malice. How fun this is.

"Maybe I should have you jump out of the window for thinking of killing me? Or do you still feel like upholding our deal? If not...bye bye." Alexavier's grin became bigger.

Cassandra was still in bed next to Gidget, still petting her head. Every now and then the thought occurred that it would be fun to see how much of a mess her head can make when crushed.

Gidget whimpered and shook at the sound of Alexavier's mad laughter. The feeling of Cassandra's touch was no longer comforting. She could feel a faint threat eminating in the room around her. She was starting to become terrified.

Shane could feel something wrong. The same feeling he had just before Alexavier and Cassandra attacked him. That horrible sense of violent madness.

He looked at Trinity and hurridly stated."Things may have just become complicated. The first chance you get leave me here with the dander duo. Take Annie, her son, and Gidget back to Valhalla. Tell the machine to perform a direct neural interlink. It'll know what that is. It's the only way to keep everyone safe and make my sister whole again."

Trinity heard Annie in the other room, it looks like Annie covered she thought. Then she hear shouting which is proved her previous thought wrong. She heard Shane talk about his sister, Gidget. Her eyes narrowed at the machine reference. "I've got orders Shane and that's to bring back the whole group not just the half. We can do this together as a team and you will see your sister, whole again. As for complications, I deal with one form or another on a daily bases. Besides no matter how wide his reach he can't reach me in the shadows."

There was a silent moment. "I don't like how you refer Gidget as the "Machine". Did you ever stop to think that she too was working on getting back her original body, in her own way? The other morning she was bragging how she was able to run on food and take a pooh. The amount of time she spends on her tones nuances, facial expressions. When she sleeps she closes her eyes and play videogames in her head to mimic dreams. Basic functions we take for granted on a daily bases she strives to regain." she sighed a little. Shane was probably not going to change his mind especially now that achieving his goal is so nigh but she made her point.

Shane bared his teeth as he spoke.

"We don't have time to argue semantics Trinity. You can't all hide in the shadows to stay safe from him. They only want me. If they get me then everyone stays safe. If they don't then they will use your memories to find Valhalla and attack. It will be Cortez all over again. Except this time the attack will come from every metahuman Alexavier can get his mental claws into. I'm not trying to escape. I'm trying to save everything my sister's soul has strived to protect."

'Sister's Soul' granted her some comfort. "Fine, I'll focus on getting Annie, her son and...Gidget... I guess it's really her body huh?" she asked with a sense of it being retorical, knowing full well it wasn't a time for questions. There was still another option to explore but perhaps she could look into it once they were safe.

There seemed to be a weird glow about her eyes when Alexavier connected.

Annie forced a smile at Alexavier's thoughts, she was getting tired of both of them. "I never said I wouldn't uphold our deal even if I killed you," Annie said, still smiling. This was a dangerous situation. Not only for herself, which didn't concern her at the moment, it was more for the others. "I do have one more idea up my sleeve: contacting Gidget about any possible way to save Shane. I doubt there is a way to do so, if she does indeed confirm my suspicions, I will kill him before my deadline."

She stepped forward, arms crossed before nodding at her son. Christian got up, grabbed Gidget's arm and pulled her away from Cassandra. "You two I pity," Annie said. "I can only try to imagine what your lives were like. And you obviously suffered trauma, but that isn't my fault. How long do you think it will take for Shane to realize you are becoming unhinged- both of you."

Annie glanced at Cassandra and then Alexavier. Obviously, she couldn't use her power and neither could Christian. Gidget's body might be able but that was too much of a gamble. Instead she stood on her tiptoe and kissed Alexavier on the forehead, "If I wanted you dead I wouldn't have given you a warning about my move. You can be a good kid, both you and your other half, so why don't you start acting like the sane rational person I know you are. We have a deal, right? I will stick to my end of the deal and I won't even try picking a fight with either of you, as long as I can trust you both. I don't trust someone who is mentally unhinged."

She raised a hand to slap Alexavier and stopped mere millimeters from his face, "You want to kill me, fine. Go ahead. I don't care, but leave my son and Gidget's body out of it. I know Christian offered you a deal of some sort to protect me. I bet that protection of yours should go for you protecting me against you and your sister. Besides, if you kept me safe and I end up trying to back out, you would have a favor Christian owed you. Christian has no love for Shane unlike I do." Christian stared at his mother surprised, he hadn't realized she would realize that he had offered to help Alexavier. He knew his mom was really intelligent and even clever but he never realized she was sharp, too.

Kerana

Kerana was excited when they arrived at the pool. This was next to the metas that can no longer live on the surface, these were called mer-metas. Something about the effects of the meteor would cause them to have fins or gills shortening their time on the surface. In many of these cases it was hard to get to them in time or get them to Valhalla in time for survival. Kerana waved at them and they waved back at Kerana as though they seem to know her well. Their tank has a door that would allow them to go to the pool if they wanted to join the other metas. Gidget had provided the more capable of walking on foot with water tanks so that they could walk around for a limited time without the fear of loosing their ability to breath. One of the mer-metas was wearing a scuba suit which covered most of his body including most of his tail, excluding the fin at the end of it of course.

Larry continued to carry his sister to the pool as they followed Kerana and Deora. He saw the mer-metas and watched them in aw for a moment. "Fishies."

Heather watched the mer-metas with something other than awe. "Lawrence, let me down." She mumbled. Her brother complied and allowed his sister to better view the fish people

She cautiously approached the glass and placed her scaly hand against it. They were beautiful in a way, the mer-metas, but sad at the same time.

"I am so selfish. I thought I was the only one."

"Right down to that damned port she put in the base of her neck. I'd love to explain the whole thing but..."

It was then that Shane noticed the glow in Trinity's eyes. He could sense something wrong going on with her. He had a feeling it was Alexavier.

Deciding to switch gears, Shane opened up to the group. "Thank you for fighting so hard for Gidget. I know I've been a burden and a problem to everyone, but I did it for her. Take comfort in knowing that this will all be over soon." The look in his eyes reflect that of the man that broke his back trying to save Trinity's mother from Leviathan and his cronies. There is no madness or darkness, only the honesty that he once held onto so dearly.

Kerana

Amanda rubbed her ear, as sharp pains filled her ear as Gidget delivered her message. Although she could hear and understand it she wasn't used to receiving messages that way. Why is she giving me such specific instructions? she wondered, she shrugged it off. She figured a normal walk to the chair would do. Not realizing it she quickly went to the chair and sat down, but it was in much less time Gidget instructed. There were a couple of floating paper clips that followed her, again she didn't seem to notice. "I'm not sure who but it seems a meta has been messing with my office supplies."

Gidget approached Amanda with her most scrupulous eye. The girl's m-radian readings were off the charts, and they were emanating not only from her but the necklace she wore.

Gidget leaned forward and snatched the necklace off of Amanda's neck, breaking the chain. Her touch and her eyes confirmed it. The necklace was a meteor fragment.

Gidget's eyes returned to Amanda as she said, "No Amanda. I'm afraid the only person that has been messing with you was the one who gave you a necklace with a meteor fragment embedded in it. You're a meta-human now dear."
