Gidget approached Amanda with her most scrupulous eye. The girl's m-radian readings were off the charts, and they were emanating not only from her but the necklace she wore.

Gidget leaned forward and snatched the necklace off of Amanda's neck, breaking the chain. Her touch and her eyes confirmed it. The necklace was a meteor fragment.

Gidget's eyes returned to Amanda as she said, "No Amanda. I'm afraid the only person that has been messing with you was the one who gave you a necklace with a meteor fragment embedded in it. You're a meta-human now dear."

It was all over her face, her world seemed to shatter at Gidget's diagnoses. But she couldn't believe it, why would anyone do something like this? It didn't make sense, to her. "I can't believe this!" she stood up. "But there's nothing weird about me? I'm not sure what would classify me as such?... I've got too much work to worry about this now... excuse me..." she was about to leave. A paper clip floated toward Gidget as Amanda turned her head.

Larry continued to carry his sister to the pool as they followed Kerana and Deora. He saw the mer-metas and watched them in aw for a moment. "Fishies."

Heather watched the mer-metas with something other than awe. "Lawrence, let me down." She mumbled. Her brother complied and allowed his sister to better view the fish people

She cautiously approached the glass and placed her scaly hand against it. They were beautiful in a way, the mer-metas, but sad at the same time.

"I am so selfish. I thought I was the only one."

"The ones who make it in here are very lucky. Vallhala does their best to get to the mer-metas. There have been many cases where they can't reach them in time or bring them here in time before they die from lack of water. That's why there are so few in the tank."

When Heather placed her hand on the glass it was usually a sign that they wanted to talk. Some of the mer-metas were able to speak telepathically. When they got here those with that gift were told to place their hand on the glass before they started talking to not startle the land dwelling metas or give them the impression that they were going crazy.

A mer-meta named Sara came to the glass and place her webbed hand on the glass. She had a wide head, or it was more like a plate of some sort on top. Her skin pretty much looked like that of a dolphin's skin but much more spotty and bluer. She had dorsal fins on her fore arms and on the calfs of her legs. She wore an orange one piece, round cut swim suite. Sara looks to Heather, a voice emanated into Heather's head Hi Heather, welcome to Valhalla. I'm Sara. with a smile. It was obvious despite the limits of her condition she was happy here.

"Right down to that damned port she put in the base of her neck. I'd love to explain the whole thing but..."

It was then that Shane noticed the glow in Trinity's eyes. He could sense something wrong going on with her. He had a feeling it was Alexavier.

Deciding to switch gears, Shane opened up to the group. "Thank you for fighting so hard for Gidget. I know I've been a burden and a problem to everyone, but I did it for her. Take comfort in knowing that this will all be over soon." The look in his eyes reflect that of the man that broke his back trying to save Trinity's mother from Leviathan and his cronies. There is no madness or darkness, only the honesty that he once held onto so dearly.

Trinity looked into Shane's eyes, something about them didn't have the cold dark demeanor that she had come across with the encounters the past couple days or so. He seemed more familiar now then when he first encountered him recently. It was the Shane from years ago, the one she first met who saved her mother from a crumbling hospital.

"Shane... I shall be forever in your dept for saving my mother." she closed her eyes a moment remembering the moment her mother was so glad to see her daughter safe. She half opened her eyes, "There's one thing we still need to account for." She looks straight into Shane's eyes, "What will they do, when they are done with you? Valhalla could still be next on their hit list."

Liv remained invisible for the time being. She thought it would be best for their current relationship. She didn't want Amanda to think Liv was too forceful or too concerned which in fact..she was. Another idea rolled over her. She could...take that power for her own. Perhaps it would lead Gidget to believe that it is a new kind of mutation. A temporary one. But she needed to think about that before doing anything of such scale.

The way Annie was behaving during brief moments reminded him of their mother. When she wasn't abusing them. It was both the way she spoke and the kiss on the forehead .Alexavier ducked to the side with his arms already covering his face. He was shaking a bit as if this had already happened countless of times. When he noticed she was not going to hit him and kept on talking he got up awkwardly and coughed. His action made him feel weak and he hated it.
As he got up Cassandra had already placed herself between the two. No one was going to hurt what was hers. His..theirs. She was ready to strike out at Annie if she attempted anything like that again. This entire situation felt strange to them.

Theonis gave a good look at Trinity noticing her eyes. "Trin..you're doing the glowing eyes thingy again," It was all he said before listening to Shane again, What if those two came to Valhalla. It would be quite the problem.

Gidget took hold of Amanda's hand before she could leave. Her thermal sensors showed high heat buildup on the dermal level.

"Calm down sweetie. Your built up power combined with your sudden emotional agitation is causing you to vibrate to the point where you are radiating heat. Here, let me show you something."

Using a remote built into her body, Gidget queued up the surveillance footage of Amanda's mad dashing around Valhalla. "You've been endowed with super speed. The things falling around you are caused by the air current you are giving off as you rush by."

Heather nearly jerked her hand away from the tank, but she calmed down when she realized it was telepathy. She took a deep breath and returned the girls smile. Heather's teeth were small and plentiful, all pointed of course.

"Hello Sara. How did you know my name? Wait, that was a stupid question. Forget I asked that."

Shane shook his head. "They wont. They have no concern for Valhalla. All they want is me. It was the experiment that they started on me that has made them what they are. They see me as the source of their torment. Once I am dead, they will most likely disappear."

"Also, I don't plan on dying. Not yet at least. That doesn't mean I wont, but I'm not going to give up without a fight. They surprised me before, but now I've had time to think. And thinking is what I do best."

Trinity smirked at Theonis' comment, "It's weird that they are glowing right now. Usually I can't tell perhaps its just something that feels normal to me...and from what I gathered they glow when I get emotional. Thing is right now I'm as level headed as can be. Not entirely sure but it may have something to do with the mind controller." she looked to Shane for possible answers and suggestions on how to break his hold.

Annie paused briefly, realizing what she was aiming to confirm from that stopped slap: only someone who had been hit plenty of times- especially young- would have flinched so badly. And then there was Cassandra's strange behavior. But, Alexavier was Annie's focus, if she could win him over she would have Cassandra under control, too. She frowned, realizing a maternal side in her was taking hold. It was a side of her she never bothered to nurture, and hadn't realized she had really until around the time Christian was born- the child she hated for months before accepting his existence.

Taking a deep breath she pulled Cassandra and Alexavier into a hug and whispered, "I'm not your mother or your experimenters. I don't know what it is like to be an unwilling prisoner to Daedalus- after all no matter what they did to me in the end it was my decision to come to them in the first place. But this I promise you: change for the better, if you have hate, I'm not going to tell you to let it go- but remember who it was that really hurt you. Hunt them down. If you start hurting those who aren't responsible you are just going to start a chain of hate that will never end. I'm not stupid enough to ask you to start forgiving people or give up your hatred, but I am asking you to channel it. The real enemies is Daedalus, and I'd bet my own life- and maybe my son's- that Shane or his sister can find out who put you through those experiments."

Releasing them both she added, "Alexavier, you want Shane dead because of many reasons including the fact he is unstable. If I am willing to kill the man I love to save others from his instabilities, what is to stop me from trying to hurt either of you? Prove to me that your both better than Shane. And maybe I'll even be willing to provide some of my help to help you reach any reasonable goal besides just killing Shane." She smiled and held out a hand, "Is that a deal?"

Annie's hug was...comforting. Alexavier on the brink of giving in as he was thinking. She...he didn't know why they had this urge to crush, kill, mutilate, destroy Shane. It was if it was imprinted into their minds. He reached out to take her hand. Cassandra's didn't budge as Annie tried to pull her in a hug. She took charge now that Alexavier was in conflict. It was how it worked with them. The stronger mind was in control which usually was Alexavier.

"We already stopped you from trying to hurt us. Stop trying to confuse us!" She pushed Annie from her in her anger. Stomping her foot on the ground caused large cracks in the room. "We will kill Shane! It will end! No more suffering! We will be one again...they told me! You may have broken me but you will never break her!" Cassandra screamed out. Her hair stayed fixed at a crimson red color.

Annie didn't even flinch as Cassandra pushed her, Cassandra's hands going through a watery body. As Cassandra stomped her foot, Annie rematerialized, still in her clothes. She hadn't realized that Cassandra could take the lead too. She had gambled and lost the hand, but not necessarily the game. Annie smiled a good nature smile, "That's true. I can't use my power offensively against either of you at the moment, but as you can see I can defensively. And, it takes a lot of concentration on my part not to turn into liquid when facing a physical attack. However, my dear girl, I don't think you are listening entirely. I said I do plan to kill Shane if my suspicions about his conditions are confirmed, I would have killed him without your meddling. We aren't on opposing sides. And I would bet that those 'they' were some Daedalus doctors. You think they will hold their promise if you kill Shane? But, like I said, Shane is going to end up dead if things keep going on like they are."

Running her fingers through her hair she sighed, "I'm not trying to confuse either of you. You want to kill Shane, right? Well, I'm not standing in your way for that- I am delaying you a mere two weeks, in exchange for promising to kill Shane for you both. What I am arguing is that attacking Valhalla and Valhalla agents is really counter productive. If you two want to play with people and cause carnage I just want to direct it at the right people- Daedalus."

She smiled, "I'm not going to lie, I'm not a good person. And I am manipulative: I want Daedalus taken out. I want my revenge, still. I want to see Daedalus blood dye this entire world crimson. I think you have just as much reason- if not more- to hate them than I do. If I do kill Shane like I promised, I want to continue a partnership with you two. If Shane dies, fighting for a normal life is pointless. Christian won't have it and I won't be able to accept it." Still smiling, Annie added, "You both like mayhem and pain, why not stay with me if the time comes and help me in inflicting it to our enemies?"

Alexavier had calmed down a bit."Win-win....Blood is...good. Yes. We need to kill them. Kill them all." Alexavier repeated to himself. Cassandra's eyes shifted from Annie to Alexavier. She didn't move but didn't show her earlier signs of anger. Seems like Alexavier was in control again.

"You are...just as broken as we are. When did they treat you with the pure radiation?" Alexavier asked curiously. All animosity seemed to have vanished. But that did not mean it should be taken lightly. It might reappear faster than before.

Shane could only shake his head. "I don't know what to do about that. As far as I know I'm safe. If he tries to get into my head he will probably go insane."

Shane felt the ground shake beneath him. Either Annie was doing what she does best and pissing off the bad guy, or she was trying to steer them in a different direction. That was something he couldn't allow. Those things were simple minded and would soon revert to their base instinct.

"We're almost out of time. Annie wont like it, but it is imperative that they are made safe before I am."

Annie paused and frowned: should she tell the truth? The fact that she had willingly ingested pure radiation to amp her powers. That her amplified powers were probably what caused Daedalus's interest in using the substance in the first place. She ducked her head and took a deep breath, "You have more reason to want to kill me than Shane, though, I still say Daedalus is the guilty ones in the whole matter. There was a meta who was 'juicing', essentially using pure radiation to become almost unstoppable. No one treated me with pure radiation: I did it to myself."

Clenching her fist she looked up and met Alexavier's eyes, "I was always powerful, but then when I treated myself I became practically indestructible. Because of my rash actions they decided to test it on others- Shane and you two I assume. Besides the two meta-mice that ate it first, I was the first 'test subject'. Shane suggested it, in passing, but dismissed the idea immediately. The doctor who did whatever they did to him, nearly blew a gasket when he found out what I did, of course he changed his mind when he saw what I could do."

"I was in many ways the success, Shane was the failure, and you two are a mix from what I can tell," Annie said. "If I had never done that, I doubt things would have played out like they did, at least not as quickly." She shook her head, "If my body had ever caught up with my powers, I would have been perfect, not human, not even meta-human, something greater. You want someone to blame for all this, someone besides just the Daedalus scientists, than it is me. You want to kill someone for revenge: than it would be me. I could probably force myself to let you kill me, but Alexavier, if either of you want your revenge on me, than I would suggest to stop my power flow completely. I won't fight back though. I only ask that you do not harm my son or Gidget's body or the ones from Valhalla."

She met Alexavier's eyes, her brown eyes hard and determined, though damp with held up tears. "I would say sorry a million times, but that never would be enough. My rash actions started a chain reaction I didn't even realize till far too late. You have every right to kill me in your hatred and I won't fight back. I made a lot of mistakes, I even chose to go under Daedalus control. I'm not a victim like so many others are- I chose my fate. And, my decisions hurt you and Shane and who knows who else. I can't claim stupidity, I am smart enough I should have known better. I'm the villain, not a victim."
