Sylvir folded his arms in thought, "I see. It seems you and I have much in common, Alu." He then attempted to lighten the mood with a joke, "I warn you, though. Being one from the desert, keep within a few feet away from me..You wouldn't want to catch a cold now." He then let out a forceful huff accompanied by a slight laugh and smirk. "You are right, though. We should head inside." He stopped and looked around at the other students still entering inside and noticing those having trouble with luggage, mainly the females, he felt it was his duty to provide them aid. "I will be in shortly, please excuse me while I help some of our fellow students in with their possessions." He nodded to Alu and hooked his shield on a strap above his left shoulder and walked toward the crowds to offer his assistance.

She was about ready to cast a spell on Geoff, maybe light his pant legs on fire or ice him. Everyone could see the rage in her blue eyes. "Glad we do agree, Geoff." Bad come back but it was all she had. Controlling her temper she walked behind the other teachers, pacing herself. She wanted to make sure the other students didn't get locked outside. As the last bit of students trickled in she waved her hand and the great doors shut.

Following behind the students she found herself in the great hall. Taking her place with the other professors she saw that Meyer was smirking at her. She gave him the eye and her mouth twitched with frustration. It is going to be another year like this? She saw one of her locks fell out of place and she quickly tied it up back in her bun. Peering over her glasses she studied the students; which ones would be in what course, training and so on. The back of her neck prickled when she saw how many there actually were. My class maybe huge...

The fear on her face was showing . She could she Geoff was eating it up. He was making faces at her, like a child. Blasted man. Changing tactics she turned around and faced Gales. "How are you today Meyer?" The poor man and his cough, but he was still a strong one.

Following the rest of the staff, Meyer had rolled his eyes slightly to the expected bickering of Serenus and Geoff. Gales had much admiration for eah in their own ways, but he was irritated with each snap they made for each other's throat. Geoff had a vast knowledge of the world around them and many unique cultures he had hoped to visit, plus he was a skilled pilot like Meyer sought to be. Although there were times he would make unnecessary banter or take things he hadn't asked for, like the head master's cigars. But Geoff was a ally Gales could rely on if situation called for it, and for that He was proud to call him friend. He rested his palm on Micheals shoulder and shook his head to the faces he made at Serenus.

Now when the elven mage turned to the duelist he was pulled from his peaceful thoughts. His eyes locked with hers and he smiled warmly.
"As fine as this evening, and you Miss Vindicta?" Meyer politely responded taking a moment to admire her modest facial features.

Now Meyer shared the same respect for Serenus as he did for Geoffrey. Despite his love and intimidating knowledge of all things technology, he can always be caught in awe by the strange arcane talents of her studies. Along with her confident and strong willed demeanor, she was very beautiful and poise.
Gales just wished he could get her to come out of her cold and strict mannerisms to enjoy life to it's fullest.

The duelist saw himself as the borderline between the two, a position that wasn't always a stress free one, yet he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world

He always looked sickly and pale but underneath it all there was a vibrate confident man. Meyer was easy to talk to and she has had some interesting conversation with magic verse technology. It still baffled her mind that neither of them have came to a conclusion.

“Do you have you classroom ready?” For once she smiled tenderly, her soft red lips parted into a crescent. She was beautiful but then again all Elven folk were striking. Her hand rested on her side, a look at her body would make any man tremble. But her personality would turn them all to cold dogs. Over the years the teachers have watched her turn down men left and right with not the most gracious of attitudes. One of her love affairs went wrong and she lit the poor man on fire hurling him out of the academy. When she got him out of the doors she drenched him in water to put him out and then slammed the doors on his face. She was a furious temptress.

“I am a little nervous for how many students I shall have this term.” She bit her lip and looked past Meyers almost thinking in a daze.

Geoff:

Once he caught the twinge of nervousness and anxiety cross Serenus' face, Geoff couldn't help himself. He took the cigar from his mouth and held his hands up by his face, waving them slightly as he opened his eyes wide and mimed a comedic scared expression. She ignored him, turning to Meyer.

As she spoke with Meyer, he shuffled over behind her. "Don't let the pressure get to ya, even if I do end up having more passing students than you again," he said. With a laugh he patted her shoulder and headed towards the primary building. However, as he started to enter the building a bit of seriousness crossed in his eyes.

"Good luck to ya, Serra" he said, a rare showing of respect for the woman that he personally had come to know as a rival of sorts. After all, no other teacher quite matched up when it came to strictness and success. "Try not to wear yourself out this time." With a quick wave of his hand, he disappeared inside the primary building. "Catch you guys later."

Alu:

Alu let out a quiet chuckle at the joke. If there was one thing he learned during his time away from his tribe it was the importance of a sense of humor. When used appropriately humor kept one focused, clear headed.

"You'd be surprised how cold Inculta gets," he said. "The desert can be harsh as high mountains in the rainy seasons."

As they headed for the primary building where they would be assigned their rooms, he noticed Sylvir stop. "I will be in shortly," he said. "Please excuse me while I help some of our fellow students in with their possessions."

Alu smiled warmly, something he hadn't done for some time. "You are polite, admirable trait," he said. As Sylvir started to leave, Alu reached a hand out and placed it on the tall warrior's shoulder. "Ogachaku, that what we are, kin by spirit. I will join you."

The pale man chuckled softly at her reference to Geoff, covering his mouth to contain his outburst to the students before them. Her queston came up about his classes and he pressed his hand to the back of his head, fidgeting with the ornate hair accessories that kept his hair up.
"Well, just about..." He started and sighed with a weak sorrow inspired smile.
"I have two classes to manage, and you know my illness." He drifted off not wanted to speak much more of the tuberculosis that cripples him. The engineer shook his expression away with a warmer one when Geoff made his remarks.
Meyer shook his head with a half hearted grin,
"Come on Geoff, try once in our lives to not bother Serenus with childish teasing " He called out in his mellow voice. Once he disappeared he returned attention to the temptress. Her last words still heavy in the stale air of the hall.
"I see no reason why you, The Serenus Vindicta should have to worry about something as asinine like that." He paused to let his statement carry more meaning, then he gave her a respectable bow with his head.
"I'm only saying that because I haven't known any being more talented than you in your wondrous art."
He turned his orbs at the ceiling and light fixtures.
"I have too much faith in you to believe you won't succeed "

Carlisle's smile remained, and he politely returned Vindicta's comment on his late status with a nod. Everything seemed to be moving smoothly, and although the intrusion of the quite rude Geoff bothered him some, he didn't show it. In fact, he gave the man a warm, welcoming smile, knowing that the polite attention to his distasteful, child-like actions would only get under his skin more. Carlisle knew he wasn't exactly liked by the man - was there really anyone who was?

Click to show.“I thank you for the pleasantries my dear Meyer.” She pursed her lips together and thought for a moment. “But I am not god and there is a pack of wolves out there.” Alas, she chuckled. “Reality, I may not manage this class. Who knows how wild this bunch may be. God I hope there isn’t a Geoff somewhere in there.” She looked over the crowd trying to find a miniature clone of Geoff.

“I am more worried for you, I can come by and possibley help in your classes as an aid?” Her eyes glanced off into the horde of learners. Clasping her hands together, she was nervous. Her hard exterior had crumble showing the lost Serenus that died with her husband. “I am sorry for my nagging.” The wall was back up in a blink. Just a glimpse.

Sylvir smirked at Alu and said warmly, "Ogachaku, indeed, friend." He then took a deep breath in of the cold air around him, puffing his large chest out and then exhaling, "Well, now, shall we put our warrior muscles to good use?" letting out another huff of slight laughter.

He shook his hand before her and grinned softly. "No need, for I only state what I see is the truth." He folded his arms with her pause and response, he closed his eyes in amusement at the idea of a student like Geoff, he would like to meet him.
"Ah, but even if this term throws you some unexpected instances, don't sell yourself short and embrace them head on."
"Oh, I thank you, but don't you think the ill man next to you isn't up for the task at hand." He cracked his knuckles and pretended to have broken a bone to lighten up the mood. Not sure if she gave a smile to it, he nodded to her offer.
"I'll gladly accept any help you'll hand over, I'll even offer the same to you."

Taking the moment to observe the youths and staff ahead of them, he took note of Serenus' mannerisms of the moment she spoke once more. It was off-putting, but he welcomed a vulnerable arcane professor. That way he knew she wasn't all ice and cold, she too had emotions that made her sincere and timid.
"You have nothing to apologize for, I can always be at your side for you to vent off your thoughts."

"I would like that," Alu said. He set his bag down on the ground and sat beside it, staff now rested upon his crossed legs. Eyes closed, his breathing slowed to a near halt. There, he reached out his spiritual focus and relaxed his body completely, arms limp at his side and head lolling slightly against his chest.

Like a sudden bolt of lightning, Alu was on his feet, staff in hand. He held it before him in one hand, legs set slightly apart, one before the other. His free hand was open, the fingers curled just slightly. When he finally opened his eyes to meet Sylvir's, they held a focus so great that any doubts one might have about Alu's status in his old tribe were instantly washed away. Patiently he waited and the slightest of smiles crossed his lips. A good duel was something he had gone for far too long without.

Running her hand over her sleek blonde hair she checked once again for stray hairs. “I gladly accept for you to spot by. Feel free.” Her eyes were twinkling, the blue was bright. “Ah I wonder when we will get the show on the road.” Her patience was thinning, she wanted to get on with getting the students settled and fed. She would then be off to her room and snuggle under her blankets.

Crossing her arms her fingers of her left hand fiddled as if she was trying to conjure magic. She was ready to teach, the summer was long for her. Going home to her family brought to many memories of her distant past. A spark flashed from her fingers and jolted her. She may have made a small cast out of her boredom. It made her stand at attention and straighten her shirt.

Sylvir let out an actual laugh seeing Alu prepare for combat, "No, no, friend. I meant for us to put our warrior muscles to good use helping our fellow students with their possessions." He then paused took notice to the spirit of a true warrior in Alu's eyes, "I do promise you a good duel once we are settled inside, in due time. Right now we must allow this initiation ceremony to finish." Glancing at the teachers gathered up at their positions he smirked, "I also do not think they would appreciate our duel interrupting the ceremony"

Alu stood still, the focus gone from his eyes, his jaw slacked. He had expected a duel and completely forgotten about his offer to help the others. He laughed heartily.

"You tricked me!" he said. "Speak of warrior's muscles and I thought you meant challenge in combat!" He reached out and patted Sylvir's shoulder once again. "We shall have to test ourselves soon. But you are right, disrespecting celebration is an unfavorable thing. For now, help the other students."

((Mmmm, rampant enthusiasm! I apologize for my absence - it was unexpected, forgotten, and thus unexplained. Happy to see you all enjoying yourselves. Because there have been so many posts, I'm afraid I cannot address each of your characters directly at this time, so we'll just move along.))

Le'Minz glared at Geoff. "I was through with that anyway," he whispered, taking his place behind the podium. He coughed for attention, and realized everyone was ignoring him anyway. "I beg your pardon!" he called, and the hubbub increased. One or two of the professors seemed to be squabbling in the back, and he could have sworn he saw students placing bets on the outcome. Le'Minz sighed.

Lowering his hands to his sides, he allowed his fingers to claw into tense knotted talons, shaking with an outpouring of energy. A blue glow began to coalesce into his palms, flowing and writhing up his arms until it enveloped his entire body. Many of the students stopped talking and looked openmouthed at the Headmaster. Raising his face towards the ceiling, Le'Minz, released his clenched hands, and with a tremendous roar and a flash of sapphire light, a mighty form flowed up from his collapsing body. Le'Minz crumpled towards the floor as a towering twelve-foot form took his place behind the podium. The creature's androgynous, tremendously muscled body was composed solely of transparent sapphire Aura - a long coat formed of the same substance draped down from its titanic shoulders. Its head was smooth, possessing not even a face, but two burning eyes that emitted blazing blue light.

"I will have silence!" a voice thundered, filling the entire assembly hall with sound.
