(I'm fine with just Jinsei being added but I thought I'd throw this idea out there for kicks)
Name: Boa Age: 15 Gender: Female Nation: Water Tribe (The Great Swamp) Bender or Non-Bender: Bender Rank: Godly Bender Element: Water Personality: Laid-back, comes from a very open background, thinks of world as a brother/sisterhood Appearance: Has a paler skin tone than her cousins in the Swamp, but lots of dark freckles on her arms. Eyes are slightly saggy from unusual sleeping habits of Swamp benders, and she laughs with a snort. Her hair is dark, and tied up in a half ponytail, the tied up part being slightly mangy and wild while the rest that goes over her shoulders is considerably smoother. She's lanky and tall and wears a murky colored tunic over a short green hakama with wooden sandals and matching wrist-guards. History: When the Avatar was reincarnated in the Water Tribe, there was a great deal of panic when it wasn't discovered in either of the twin poles. What they had negelcted were the babies born in the tribe in the Great Swamp...so Boa grew up with a far more carefree life in the swamp. When she came close to being of age, she accompanied her mother to the North Pole for a confrence, where it was discovered she was the next Avatar after looking over some of the Avatar Relics with extreme interest. But when approached on having to learn all the elements, Boa felt unconvinced that learning more on how to bend was the answer to the world's problems, feeling there ought to be more of a need to help ordinary people. Despite their attempts at keeping her back to learn the elements, Boa leaves to find the answers herself, determined to find her own way of being a useful and successful Avatar.
Extras: She has a fondness for playing the biwa lute and carries one around wherever she goes. She travels by a special raft which she can waterbend to move, or simply sail on the winds if she wants to play her lute while she sails. She prefers using waterbending techniques that are potentially helpful to others, rather than learning fighting moves.

(Just because I'm a little worrisome on my Jinsei being written as she should be, here's a fun ficlet for ya. Enjoy.)
In the thicket of the woods, the paint on their faces threatened to smear on the underbrush from the humidity of the day and the long period of waiting. Four hours of complete silence. Four hours of judging the wind's favor. Four hours of waiting for the target.
Jinsei was squatting in her tree at the crown of the formation. The Yu Yan Archers had been informed of the pirate rendevous point. All that was required was patience. Her younger cousins; out on their first mission, were on the verge of squirming in anticipation. But rigid discipline and many harsh smacks on the back at so much as a twitch from training had taught them well.
Finally...there was movement. The group of them came noisily onto the scene, unaware of the hunters in the trees...
And with a deft, visible flick of the wrist they unleashed a torrent of arrows, each one as precise as an artist painting a portrait. They pinned the targets to the ground, arrows dug deep into the earth as they yelped with the suddenness of the attack. Not a scratch on any of them, but they were definitely immobile for the moment. Nodding at the anxious students, Jinsei leapt down, followed by her cousins. A trained hawk crowed as Jinsei scribbled down a quick message, handing it to the trainer.
"We've pinned the target," she said swift and smooth as an arrow, "Send the messenger hawk to the Terra Team...these guys won't see Ba Sing Se for a good lifetime."
She immediately set to giving orders. "You two keep the defensive positions on both sides. You two...offensive on opposite sides. And guys?"
There was a collective intake of breath as Jinsei's eyes were narrow and sharp as a hawk. Then, the air lightened with a turn of the mouth into a smile and a far more cheerful nature.
"Good work. Your first mission deserves a little reward. I'll go pick up something to celebrate at the village."
The cousins looked bright at the potential of hotcakes and cream, jasmine tea, and a picnic to celebrate their first official victory. A class C victory yes, but a victory nonetheless. They may not have held a candle to their superior cousin's talent and record, but as she walekd away, proud of her students, they too swelled up as they kept a close watch on the captured pirates.
As Jinsei walked off, she replayed the mission statements in her head as a instinctual run-through. The broken pieces of Ba Sing Se's Outer Wall were still under construction, taking almost years to complete. But criminals were still finding their way in through the remaining cracks, and soon enough, the guards of the walls called for the Yu Yan Archers to perform regular haltings of criminals attempting to smuggle illegal goods through the walls. They'd been warned of the thieves this time. Next time would require far greater cunning-they'd need to catch them in the act next time.
Fortunately, Jinsei wasn't the prodigy of their clan for nothing.

THANK YOU. YOU MAY NOW HAVE ANOTHAAA- BOA STYLE! OMG MY CAPSLOCK LUVS ME. ___
In the hot, boggy swamp, there never seemed a better day.
The insects buzzed and hummed in the humidity, bubbles popping up lazily from the bogs. And Boa, in all her swamp glory, was enjoying a good swamp ski.
"Yeehaw! Go faster Kie!"
Her hair waved like loose swamp moss over her shoulders as her ice ski slid across the stagnant water, pulled by her cousin in the front. Like the propelling of the boat, the ice skis were just another example of the everyday water-bending they did in the Great Swamp. Slim, jowls and whiskers wide open as it snapped at small fish, let out a loud growl of irritation as a muddy wave went crashing over the shallow pool where he fished.
"Oops! Sorry thar' Slim."
She slowed to a halt to give her honest apologies to the cat-gator, tossing a swamp herring into his expecting jaws. Not two seconds later, a woman in a blue nun's tonsure, looking like a bluebell dropped in a mud puddle, came upon the soaking wet Boa immediately, scolding lightly.
"Boa, haven't you packed up yet? We're going to the North Pole tomorrow, you don't have time to swamp ski all you like!" Boa looked sheepish, squeezing the remainders of the water out her hair.
"Sorry Ma. Pa said it wouldn't take too long, 'though it sure is neat to see our cousins up thar'! Do they really have no trees or nuthin'?"
"Only at the Spirit Oasis," her mother shook her head, "But it's very important we have your coming-of-age ceremony completed so you might take on some greater responsiblities now that you're older."
Boa's mother was not the expected match for her father. She was an Air Nomad; one of the few of the slowly growing population from the marriage of Avatar Aang and his wife Katara. It came as a natural shock that she picked a suitor from the Great Swamp of all places, but Boa felt confident in her parent's love for each other. Despite that though, they stayed in their respective homes, Boa seeing her mother from occansional visits to the Air Temples. But Boa had loved the Swamp best, in all its murky, humid, overgrown glory.
Boa quickly pulled on her tunic and hakama, slipping on her sandals and armbands. "Do you think they'll like m' water-bendin' any Ma?" Boa asked excitedly, accent giving her speech a slight slur, "Everyone in the Swamp think's its just the bees knees."
"Perhaps," her mother smiled encouragingly, "They have been more open with female benders since the age of Avatar Aang. I'm sure they'll like you just fine."
"Ooh! Hey lookit this new one I made up!"
Quick as a wink, Boa sent out vine after vine until it made an enormous braid. Then she grabbed on, swinging back and forth and back and forth, the water in the river below matching her swing for swing. When the muddy bottom was finally shown, Boa flipped down, and with a long icy breath-
"Lookie here Ma! I made a crossing!"
In clean, icy walls, there was indeed a crossing. Her mother smiled as she crossed onto the other side where her daughter waited.
"Practice has done wonders for you no doubt."
"Uh...hey Boa?!" called a voice.
Boa looked over, then blushed. In her enthusiasm, she'd accidentally frozen Kie's boat vertically, and the fellow Swamp man was attempting to cling to the seat. Her mother simply rolled her eyes as she snorted with laughter.
"Back to the drawing board!"

(And just ooooooonne last character and that's it. I mean it. I'm feeling bad at posting so many already. So here's a cute character who's not as capable of kicking a** as my other two, but still quite dynamic.) Name: Tayu Age: 14 Gender: Female Nation: Earth Kingdom Bender or Non-Bender: Bender Rank: Trainee Element: Earth Personality: Persistent, socially awkward, a wallflower Appearance: History: Tayu is the young princess of the Earth Kingdom, child of the Earth King Kuei, and despite her father’s enthusiasm at seeing the world, Tayu possesses little of that explorative spirit. She prefers to stay in Ba Sing Se, aiding in the tearing down of the walls separating the Upper and Lower Rings and making changes to the duties of the Dai Li. She has much inner confliction at her own mental and physical capabilities, causing her to make feeble, but persistent, attempts to learn earth bending. With her own mind set on revolutionizing the royal custom, Tayu is determined to prove her worth to her kingdom. This determination is often stuttered by her deep love for Quan, one of the Air Nomads. She often tries to keep her feelings underwraps, but has difficultly holding back when Quan is involved. She wears a special gift from Quan, a pair of kukui nut bracelets that are said to help bestow peace and balance, worn often by Air Nomad women.

I don't mean to sound pompous or anything, but I feel like I'm writing TOO well. I don't want to set too high a bar for anyone else.
But hey. Have a Tayu ficlet! ___
"Your Highness!"
The shocked squeak of the servant made Tayu flush and scowl as she turned to face the said servant. She had managed to give her palanquin bearers the slip, walking down to the reconstruction of the inner walls herself.
"What now?"
"Your Highness please! Lady Joo Dee and King Kuei have specifically asked me to ensure your safety! It's not befitting of your complexion nor posture to be walking around in such strong sunlight! You should at least let someone hold a parasol for you!"
"It's just a little sun," grumbled Tayu, gaining a few giggles from the surrounding children in the crowd watching the redesign of the walls, "I'm not some little hothouse plant, I'm fine."
This was one of Tayu's largest and most high-scale projects; to reassemble the inner walls to allow more freedom in crossing all the Rings of Ba Sing Se. Tunnels were carved out by Earth-bending, stairs cut neatly into place and houses built into the very walls. In order to gain back some finance for the project, the property inside the wall would be sold for businesses and luxury homes. But there was still progress to be done in fitting the windows with glass, building terrances and inner pavilions, balconies and other useful things. The walls were historic, but they would serve greater purpose in uniting the rings as a whole city.
"Mother can be reminded," Tayu said back snappishly, "That this project requires great labor at the hands of our hired benders. The least I can do is have a bit of a sweat walking down here. The people don't need a dainty, little wish-wash princess holed up in the palace."
Tayu felt a bit smug at the small appaulase from her bold statement. Her father Kuei may not have convinced her to leave Ba Sing Se, but her influenced her enough to get to know her own citizens.
Leaving the servant sputtering and empty handed, Tayu walked on, nose in the air as she stubbornly walked on, her fine silk robes warming underneath the glimmering sun. "Foreman!" she called directly. For someone of her delicate stature, Tayu had a way of getting what she wanted immediately, uninhanced by her royal status, "Please be sure to ask the Sixth Division if the walls below the Upper Ring are set to realign the monorail."
"Yes milady."
"Hmm..." she pursed her lips as she looked at the sweaty, tired workers bending out the stairs with the careful design of the Earth Kingdom in each step. "Also be sure to let those bending the stairs to take a break and have some tea for a few minutes. That is all."
Tayu couldn't help the twitch of pride underneath her diplomatic smile as the small groupd of kids followed her round like puppies.
