Seeing the injector, Mira's ears go against her head but she stays still. Though she yelps as Cody injects the medications into her arm, causing her to wince in extreme pain. She starts yelping more before she goes underneath the bed and hitting the injector out of Cody's hand with her tail, with tears in her eyes. She holds her arm as she starts shaking from the pain as she lays underneath the cot. A whimper comes from her throat as she huddles in a tight ball, tears flowing down her face as the pain starts to subside. She hated the injectors as they were as source of pain to her. She had no comforts within the room she was in, all that was in the room, was the cot and a toilet.

(I figured she would have scratched him or something.)
He found she yelped and began to wince, he figured the injectors hurt but the pain medicine and anti biotics werent a cup of tea either. He found she was whimpering under the cot, he gently moved close as she calmed down, looking under the cot, "Im sorry that had hurt, the pain should continue to lessen, I promise." He said softly but knew that she wasnt going to find comfort in his words with the state she was in. He sighed as he would get up and leave. He would collect the injector first and deposit it to be recycled and cleaned but he went to one of the head researchers, "I understand im just an intern and im definately speaking out of turn, but you asked me to be her caretaker. Im being paid but I know that shes just an experiment to you but shes scared and alone. Do you think we could spare a small bit of cash to go get her some better pillows or a better blanket? Hell, it can come out of what I make but if she is going to need to be cared for, lets try working on her mental health, cause her being afraid is going to cause her to get put into a corner and maybe attack someone when they take another chunk from her skin." He spoke to the researcher.

Mira's ears went against her head as he spoke to her. She actually liked Cody. He was kind to her and seemed to want her to be happy. The next morning, her arm felt a lot better and she was up and about actually waiting for Cody. She was laying in a corner this time, curled up in a tight ball. She could talk but it was very little these days due to one of the experiments causing her speech to act as if she was unable to do so. She opens her eyes as she hears the lock to her room turning. She yawns as she picks her head up, hoping it was Cody as she sits up some.

Cody would be the one to unlock the door, he had the food tray again, but this time he also brough in a plastic cube like bag, which he smiled, "Please eat." He said kindly which if he could get her to eat, he walked over, unrolling a foam mat onto the cot, adding padding. Then covered it with a bedsheet, then had a blanket and a nice soft but comfy pillow, "This came out of my paycheck but personally, I think if im going to caretake, you need to be taken care of. I mean, if this is all you know, then you should at least be comfortable." He said kindly, revealing he didnt know she was human once.

Seeing the stuff in Cody's arms, Memories of when she was human started flowing in her mind. Once she was done eating, she comes over to the bed and jumps up onto the cot feeling that it was so much more comfortable. She nuzzles her way underneath the blanket and lays her head on the pillow before her tail starts to wag happily as she looked at Cody. She then says something she hadn't said since before she was kidnapped. "T-thank y-you......" Her voice was a bit raspy but it was sweet and meek sounding as she looked at Cody before she sat up, pointed to herself, and says "Mira......." as she tilts her head a bit looking at him.

Cody watched as she ate before she would suddenly go to the cot and feel the comfort. He watched as her tail wagged and she cuddled in the blanket, which when she weny to look to him, he didnt expect this next bit. She spoke! He was surprised but smiled lightly, "My pleasure, you deserve to rest nicely and the researchers should figure that you being happier could lead to better health results rather then just results at lowest cost. He said but hearing that her name was Mirs, he thought it over, "Thats a lovely name, who gave you that name?" He asked as he looked at her, but then thought of something dreadful, speakibg under his breath so the researchers wouldnt hear, "Blink your eyes twice... were you human turned into this?" he asked tensing up some as he had a chill down her spine.

Mira blinks twice at what he asked, not because he told her to, but because it was true. She looks up at Cody with sad eyes, as finally someone seemed to care about her, and she liked that he was so kind to her. She felt her body tensing up as well as she saw the look on his face and not sure what he would do.

Cody saw her blink twice and he felt chills of horror, since this was illegal pretty much everywhere. He looked to the woman, he couldnt imagine what she was going through, having been human and was now this. He looked to her, gently touching her arm, "I promise ill take care of you as best I can Mira. Ill make sure your safe and happy." He said, hoping she would hear his tone, as if to say he would help her with more then just taking care of her, he wanted to stop this and help her leave, but that was a challenge in upon itself, he would need to work carefully.

Mira felt her heart flutter as he says that. Her tail wags as he touches her arm gently, a small blush coming to her face as he says that he was going to make sure she was safe and happy. She buries her face in his chest trying to hide her blush. Plus she could sense his intentions were good, so she hoped that things would be different from here on out.

Cody blushed as she suddenly put her face to his chest, seeing her tail wag as he gently rubbed her arm, which he gently smiled, "I make my promise youre be happy." He repeated but soon his clipboard beeped, his time was up. He gently got up and collected the trays, "Ill see you later Mira." He said saying her name as he departed but he still couldnt wrap his mind around how that was once a human, now concerned as he passed other doors he had seen other interns and caretakers entering and leaving. He still couldnt believe this was happening but he would do his damn best to help Mira and maybe help her escape somehow.

Mira was happily enjoying the stuff that Cody had given her. She absolutely loved the items. She even slept on the cot for the first time since she was there and was actually was comfortable. As the days came and went, Mira started to look forward to Cody's visits. Every morning, she would wake up and wait for him to come into the room. She had come to enjoy his company, and loved that he came to spend time with her, even if it was his job to do so.

Cody would spend the next few days just taking care of her, giving her the meals she required while tending to anything she may need. He would bring her little things, like when he brought her dinner, he brought her a little desert cake, more like a cupcake without frosting but still a sweet little desert. He would be sitting in the room with her, but he thought it over, "Im sorry this happened to you Mira... but im happy I got to meet you." He said, making small conversation with her, hoping to help her talk more and more over time. It was odd, looking at her aninal like snout of a nose, hard to believe she was once human, trying to imagine what she looked like before.

Mira had been talking more and more with Cody whenever he would come by to see her. "I don't blame you....but I am glad we met too." It was becoming more and more obvious she was human before this as hard to believe as it was. She looked nothing like what she once did. She was even smiling a little whenever Cody was around her. She really liked him as he was so kind to her, but if she didn't know if he felt the same about her as she felt about him. She then splits the cupcake in half and offers him the bigger half trying to repay his kindness.

He looked at her when she spoke, seeing her smile was odd, it was weird to think of a human shaped being smile with a animal like face. It was odd, but cute in a way, he almost wanted to reach over and pet her head, to tell her she would be alright but he had to keep contact to a minimum as per instructions. When she offered the cupcake to him, he shook his head, declining, "Thank you, but I brought that for you to enjoy since its probably been a long time since youve been here." He said but thought it over, it was obvious she was human before so he knew the researchers knew he knew but he had informed them he knew the contracts he signed, but he looked at her, "So what were you like before you were turned? What color hair did you have?" He asked a basic question, figuring she would add more details further on if she wanted to talk about it.

It had been so long since she was human that Mira didn't really remember much about what she looked like. "I don't really remember what I used to look like. But I always loved animals. I still do, but.....let's just say I have a better understanding of them having been turned into one." She says trying to remember what she was like. "I used to love to sing too. Though I haven't sung in such a long time......I doubt I'd sound any good still." She adds as she gets an embarrassed look on her face as her ears go against her head a bit. She actually loved Cody's company. He was kind and actually was taking the time to get to know her.
