orangeymoon Here is why I am against same-sex marriages: 1.) Our founding fathers did NOT base America on same-sex marriages! This is not how America should be! 2.) America was created on the religion of CHRISTIANITY. In this religion, same-sex marriages are a sin (and I'm sure you all know what sins are). 3.) Though it has not been proven same-sex parents make better or worse parents, just THINK how the kid (if the adopted one) would feel! Think about the embarrassment!!
every one of those is wrong I see your points and they are strong I'm catholic we hate gays more than the devil but my opinion differs from the church
Quote: 1.) Our founding fathers did NOT base America on same-sex marriages! This is not how America should be
yes they did they gave us FREEDOM of religion so scientologists love gay marriage so why should it be not allowed my religion says yes
Quote: 2.) America was created on the religion of CHRISTIANITY. In this religion, same-sex marriages are a sin (and I'm sure you all know what sins are
No America was founded on you can believe anything you want but this nation was founded on christian values not beliefs check that one
Quote: 3.) Though it has not been proven same-sex parents make better or worse parents, just THINK how the kid (if the adopted one) would feel! Think about the embarrassment
this is incorrect as well the child will understand the relationship and may not be affected his sexual preferences I think some people will be understanding and well kids are always facing problems like that this is just a new one you think the "N" word isn't used anymore that is a tremendous amount of ignorant hate the "FA" word will be like it once it is legal It will become socially acceptable and people will look at that word a oppressive hate word used by deep south hicks like the N word

Yes, they didn't base themselves on emancipation either-- and endorsed slavery, but I don't see that today.
Quote: 2.) America was created on the religion of CHRISTIANITY. In this religion, same-sex marriages are a sin (and I'm sure you all know what sins are).
It was created on freedom of religion with the inability of the church to take over the government, freedom to protest the government, freedom to come up with your own ideas and state them, freedom from political punishment, and having representation if you are a white male that owns property.
What it was/is not founded on is Christianity;
Treaty of Tripoli Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. read more about the treaty here
And not all denominations of Christianity state that same-sex attraction is a sin, and why would it be the governments place to choose which of these denominations is right? That would definitely go against the beliefs of the people who came here because of religious persecution due to the denomination of their church
Quote: 3.) Though it has not been proven same-sex parents make better or worse parents, just THINK how the kid (if the adopted one) would feel! Think about the embarrassment!!
Hmm... here's interesting study (aka something that has been tested and isn't based on someones biased thoughts) stating lesbian parents might be better than straight ones. And you may also want to consider that the reason these kids are teased are because the people that oppose LGBT Equality...

I believe your opinion is biased based on your political-religious views, and that were you raised by two men or women that your opinion would be very different. And you making fun of them for having gay parents is just wrong, it's people like you that cause the cycle Get teased for having gay parents -> "gay parents shouldn't have children because their children will get teased" The fact that everyone around there hates gays just shows what kind of people they are.
i said that NO ONE knows wether the kids will be ok with it or not. how is that biased?? u dont kno that my opinion would be changed, u aint got super powers.

I can base my assumption on this magic voodoo called psychology to predict the outcome of the average child raised by LGB families and conclude that were you in that environment instead that your opinion would be different

RenFlower First off, are you insinuating that homosexuals aren't allowed to be christians, and that any religion that accepts them must be wierd? Plus, are you saying that we shouldn't demand rights for people? Doesn't that go against the whole constitution. That people should say what they believe is right? Are you saying that we shouldn't be fighting to end sexism and racism because we shouldn't ask for more rights? Should people not stand up for their rights when they are wrongly treated? If anything, this puts us on the road to a BETTER democracy, where everyone really is treated equal.
I'm catholic, and in our church you CAN have a homosexual orientation, you just can't act on it because God made marriage for a man and a woman. The catholic church has nothing against people with homosexual orientations, and in my area, there is even a church specially for LGBT people (though they are welcome at any church). The point is, God made everyone the way they are for a reason, and everyone is equal in Gods eyes, as they should be in ours.

Because God is a lie and that silly book you referenced is a work of fiction.
