I'm going to vent some rage as well. I probably forgot to tell all of you about this, but I crashed one of my family's cars almost a month ago. It still hasn't come back from the repair shop. I also haven't paid the fine that the police slapped on me for a 'traffic infringement'. It's bloody difficult for my family to solely rely on one car. But even once the other car is fixed, I probably won't be driving it a lot. I've still got over two years before I get a full license, but I'm only one more accident away from losing it. And my grandparents are going back to China at the end of the month, meaning I have to shoulder most of the housework when they're gone. sweatdrop

Yalie: I'm not angry at the fact I crashed my parents' car (I actually felt like an idiot at that time), I'm angry at the fact it's taking so long for the car to be repaired. And paying the traffic fine itself is not the problem; I can easily gather the money to pay for it. I'm angry more at what the traffic fine implies: apart from the fine I also have 3 demerit points taken away, which is something that's going to haunt me everything I take to the wheel. As for shouldering the chores, well it's not just me, but my entire family. It's going to be a lot harder to manage the entire house, given that my mum, my dad and I all have to put in a lot of hours into the family business.

now that you've explained it, your situation doesn't sound difficult at all. My parents and I are in the same situation because my grandmother is leaving for six months at the very least and my brother doesn't do anything, and I'll be looking for a second job and taking summer courses in a few months. Though I've never actually been in an accident, gotten a ticket or any of those things, it's not that big of a deal, demerit points can be erased after a certain time period and you haven't had any accidents or tickets (at least in the U.S. it is) and maybe you'll be more careful driving next time. When I was learning how to drive my dad never stopped telling me that not only do I have to be careful of my own driving, but the driving of other people on the road as well.

It's not as simple as you think it is. I don't know what the license system is where you live, but here all new license holders have to go through a three year probationary period. During this time restrictions on how they can drive and far tougher than when they get a full normal license. A P plater gets only 5 demerit points, none of which can be restored until they get their full license, when they get the maximum 12 restorable demerit points. So until I get my full license, I'll have to drive a lot more carefully than I was before, not that I wouldn't have driven more carefully if I hadn't been booked by the police.

In other ranting news, I'm currently doing my HSC, which is the thing you have to go through to get into university - talk about stress. I'm practically failing chemistry. gonk

Ah you're in year 12 right now? I know what it feels like. The long hours, the stress, the ANGST!! blaugh It's going to get harder before it gets easier and before the year is even up you may feel like you want to kill yourself. You definitely might want to kill yourself if you end up doing badly in the exams. xd I managed to survive my VCE (Victorian equivalent of HSC) intact and gain a reasonably good score, not stunning and certainly not what I expected, but still enough to get into my chosen university.

Elf is from Victoria? Melbourne? Lovely place, too hot, though. I am kinda thinking of killing myself right now.. Jesus... We keep saying that we should do something like the SATs in the U.s>, where they just have multiple choice questions...
