Hikaru just shrugged, folding her arms behind her head and walking around in a slow, measured circle in front of the fountain. "Well, I guess everyone's different," she said. "I still think life's only as bad or depressing as you decide you want it to be, and it's way too short to go through it frowning and being upset all the time."

She smiled, looking Yuri in the eye. "Bad things happen to everyone, but that doesn't mean you have to live the rest of your life in the shadow of your past." Sitting back down on the fountain next to Yuki, she waved her hand. "But hey, whatever, I'm not gonna tell anyone else how to live their lives."

Changing the subject rather abruptly, she segued right into her next question, without bothering to wait for Yuri's response to her little lecture. "So, what kinda stuff do you do? Everyone here has some kinda crazy power. What are yours?"

He blinked...again he listened to what Hikaru was saying but also noticing that Yuki had been quiet for a bit now and instead of waiting to listen to her words he swtitched to listening to her thoughts. He didn't catch the whole thing, he started listening at the part where it said 'just have to work a bit harder'. He thought on that for a few moments and when Hikaru finished what she was saying he was about to comment on her saying life was short when she changed the subject. He was relieved she changed it but the way she asked it...now he was going to lie to keep from revealing anything. It took him a few moments to think of anything...She said "what...do you do" not "what...can you do" ...to answer it in the right way he would have to tell her about himself past his abilities...though if he was correct then she would accept the answer he was preparing anyway. After a few more moments' contemplation he finally came out with a reply, "I...work with matter fusion...energy fusion mostly. The Black Flame...and Different forms of Lightning...most of the time that's what I do..." he said this and verified the information he'd given her before continuing, "...most of the time..." that was all he ccould say without giving away anything. It was obvious this timethat he'd left something off because o the way he'd started to continue but let it off with just that...maybe they wouldn't notice this time...He didn't know Yuki had noticed last time but for the moment he was more worried about Hikaru...he still didn't quite trust her, though it would have been more understandable if it were the other way around.

Yuki's eyes flicked back to Hikaru as the girl spoke and she nodded occassinally again, just to show she agreed, though she didn't say anything aloud. She didn't have anything in particular to say anymore, especially once Hikaru switched the subject to focus upon Yuri. She looked towards him now, wondering as well. She didn't think she'd asked him before, since she wasn't usually one to ask such things, but she thought she remembered him burning a tree in a... black flame, perhaps.

Upon recalling that, she did become a little curious on the matter and watched his neck closely, rather than his eyes like was probably expected. She soon realized that was probably strange of her and dropped her eyes back to the ground, staring at her boots that were set upon the grass. Her hands remained clasped in her lap, no longer clenched. They were perfectly relaxed now, as Yuki'd managed to calm herself during the coversation following when Yuri had made her look him in the eyes. The urge to run off to the forest was mostly gone now as well, though she still wouldn't mind going.

She paused suddenly, realizing she'd been letting her mind wander horribly. Hadn't she finally gotten herself interested in what Yuri was about to say? So her eyes shifted back to him, in time to hear 'energy fusion' and all he said afterwards. Her thoughts switched rather rapidly once she got going. But as she heard him say black flame, it confirmed her wondering about if he was the one with the burning tree. As he seemed to stop again, she stared at his shoulder almost expectantly, but still didn't say anything. She'd stayed silent long enough that she didn't feel the need to speak up, and she preferred observing to speaking anyway.

"The Black Flame, huh?" Hikaru said, sounding sort of jokingly impressed as she laughed a little. "Sounds... important!" It was clear she had no idea what Yuri was talking about, but it did sound pretty cool, at the very least. "I bet energy fusion looks pretty cool too, whatever that is!" Despite her complete lack of comprehension, she seemed honestly interested and awed at Yuri's explanation of what his powers were.

When he got to the 'most of the time' part, though, her curiosity just couldn't help but take hold. "...Most of the time? What do you do the rest of the time?" she asked. "Ooooh! Are you, like, some kind of secret government assassin or something?" She laughed, diving around the side of the fountain and miming the action of shooting a gun with her hands. Standing back up after a few moments of enjoying this little game of pretend with herself, she smiled, patting Yuri on the shoulder. "Nah, I'm just joshin' ya," she said cheerily. "It's okay if you don't wanna talk about it. You don't seem like you like to talk about yourself very much."

As if this were an invitation to start talking about herself instead, Hikaru immediately started into an explanation of what she was in Ria to do. "I'm a speedster, myself," she said, pointing her thumb at her chest and puffing up proudly. "I bet I could probably outrun anyone on this campus! I've been training with weights strapped to my ankles lately to try and get my control down - it's been helping a lot with the speed, too!" She smiled, always happy to toot her own horn. "Besides that, I take judo. I'm actually about to graduate to the next belt level pretty soon. I'm hoping I can find a way to use my speed with my martial arts training someday, but judo's not exactly the best form for speed, y'know?"

Kiri walked back into the courtyard after she gave up on the search. She figured it would be utterly impossible to find her in all of the crowd of students at Ria. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to get this off." She sighed and climbed into a tree. Sitting in the tree, she stared at the marking. She didn't know why she always had weird things happening to her, but they just did.

zephel noticed kiri come back and he wanted to ask her about her search so far.So he jupmed into the tree and hung himself upside down in front of kiri to scare her."boo, so how was the search, i was thinking maybe we should give up we won't find her here it's just way to diffuclut"He got down and sat in front of her.

Kiri almost fell out of the tree when she realized it was Zephel. "No luck on the search." She sighed and looked at the mark. "In the meantime, we'll have to be careful about what we do." Without warning, she switched to her angel side, which changing wasn't the most comfortable feeling. Her eyes wandered about the ground in a dead manner.

Platinum enters the courtyard slowly, looking around at all it has. Still being new to the school, he is amazed at how beautiful it looks. He almost instantly notices the Dragon and Phoenix fountain and walks over to it slowly. He looks up at it in amazement, just admiring its beauty. "Wow."

"lets get going then, guess were cursed"He looked down with a stale face then looked at kiri's face to see her eyes were like in a dead looking sorta way."Kiri, are you alright?"He put his hand in front of her face and waved to see if she was ok."Kiri whats wrong are you ok?"He then got a little sleepy and got the same look in his eye."great now i'm..sle..ep..y"He then fell asleep.

"Huh? Oh, uh yeah." Kiri looked up and her eyes snapped back to normal. That was a normal thing that happened to her when she was in deep thought about something. "This isn't going to be the easiest school year. Especially since this is my first year at school." She said to no one in particular. Her eyes shifted from the sky, to what other students in the courtyard were doing, then to Zephel, who had fallen asleep. "Oh great..."

Platinum shakes his head and snaps back to reality. "Hmm, I wonder if anyone has actually seen a dragon here, or a phoenix for that matter." He takes out a scroll from his pocket looking at it and puts it back. Platinum walks around a bit more to see if anyone else is around.

"I can see that..." he said at the end of her speech when she started to talk about judo. He thought for a moment before asking her a question...she seemed so energetic and yet he associated her hyperactivity with what she was here for. Speed. He was naturally fast, but he didn't work at it everr except for when in battle...not since the onl things he set eyes on were the walls of his room as he trained at home before hi mom died. He trained his mind and his body both...and having trained constantly for at least two or three years it was all he needed for mst of his childhood life. Naturally he had been intelligent...to call him a genius would have been an understatement, before his mind had become corrupt ith the ways of the outside world at least. His agility was probably so great because of what heritage he came from, though even with that fact added it was abnormal to be born with such speed. He never saw it as one of his goals to be fast...but it was definitely not a trait that attracted people to him...most of the time the way he moved freaked them out...for him to compare himself to this girl...he'd need to know more about her. "What race are you?...Your scent smells of...human heritage?" he said this, knowing that his nose was deifinitely not the greatest when defining scents. If she was a human though then there would be o point in trying to compare himself to her...if speed washer goal in life then so be it...but even if she spent her whole life trying it would be hard to outrun a demon born of speed. HE tried to convince himself he was wrong and for a few moments he had himself under the impression that her speed could most definietly be greater then his...though when it finally came down to it...he ended up unconvincing himself and the part of his mind that thought rationally decided that she couldn't possibly be faster then him...and if she ended up surpassing him with her speed...it would not happen anytime soon. Maybe after he was completely finished wit his fighting...but until then there was a fat chance. Not that he wanted it to be like that it was just the way it was.

"Yup, I'm human through and through!" she said, smiling back at Yuri. "I didn't always have my speed powers, though... I just got them a few months ago, from this energy drink my dad made in his lab. I've been working hard training ever since." Grinning, she flexed an arm, laughing a little. "Been pushing it pretty hard lately. I think I might be ready to increase the weight on my ankles again soon..." Leaning down, she rubbed at her ankles briefly. "Never gonna improve if I don't keep making it harder, after all!"

He nodded "I suppose that's true...You seem proud of your training. Do you think you and I could spar sometime? I don't usually offer for things like that..." and it was true he didn't...he didn't evenknow why he had offered this time. Hedid not let that keep him from letting her answer though...if she declinded his offer he definitely would not have objected to it but if she accepted then he would actually have something to do sometime or other. It would actually be nice to use all of his stored up energy...and she'd be able to see what he was talking about with his powers if that was the sort of match they had. Itwas win win but only if she wanted...he definitely was not about to protest against a rejection in that field of interest.

Hikaru grinned at this suggestion, nodding in agreement almost immediately. "Sparring, huh? Sure, I'll take you up on that!" she said excitedly. "I've been wanting to see the results of my training anyway!" Stretching and yawning a little, she cracked her neck back and forth a few times. "...But not tonight, okay? I've been working out all day, and I'm pretty beat. I wanna make sure I'm at my best if I'm gonna train with someone."
