Courtyard (North)

He blinked, blushing when she'd grabbed his hand. He laughed lightly and then gripped her hand gently aswell. He outstretched his other hand instead and a large staff appeared in his hand. It was made of a blackened metal and at the top of it three different claw like poles surrounded an orb the same color as his eyes changed to, as if they were a bird's talons grabbing for a marble. Every now and then, indigio jolts of energy jumped from one of the sharp poles to the other, as electricity does in a generator. When it appeared his blush faded and a large wave of energy began to go from one pole to the other at a constant speed, as it did so a feild of energy began to surround them aswell, and just as it began to speed u a full blown barrier had appeared which lifted the both of them to a high branch on the large tree...a branch near the top. The barrier spread then, creating a floor for the entire link of branches that made up that part of the tree, and not far off a portal was created. The Indigo lighting inside of the barrier made it hard to see, but the black border of the portal made it easier. When this happened the energy stopped moving around the end of his staff, all but the regular jolt every now and then, and he looked down at her. "Right through there...you ready?" he smiled a little more, still holding her hand but tying not to look down because if the barrier wasn't there then the drop would have been really far. That barrier was like a dome at the moment, but once they left into the portal it would change to a hollow orb like normal barriers usually are.

Karin sighed as she saw she really had made a mistake and quickly looked off to the side as her face flushed red as well, her eyes focusing absently upon the sky rather than anything else. But she couldn't help looking back as the staff appeared in his other hand. She gaped at it for a moment, jumping slightly in surprise the first time she saw a jolt of energy shift between poles. She gripped his hand more tightly as she suddenly realized they were being lifted, but didn't loosen her grip even after they'd been set back down in the tree. She had no idea what was going on. He hadn't given her any bit of warning that something like this was going to happen. Her eyes flicked to the portal and then back to him as he spoke finally. She stared at him for a second and then nodded her head. "Yes," she said simply, her eyes moving back to the portal. She made no move to go towards it though, not wanting to mess up again like when she'd grabbed his hand.

He had a sudden urge to throw her in the portal with an evil laugh just to see how she acted on the other side, but didn't and instead let go of her hand and went in first, causing the portal to slowly begin to shut. He assumed she'd follow after real quickly, but she might have become reluctant, she acted like that a lot of the time. Now he stood in the middle of an empty room that stretched at least twenty yards from end to end, meaning it had a 20 yard diameter since it was cylindrical. He waited for her here...here where if you somehow entered without a proper portal, it would be an endless void which most likely would render your powers useless and drain you of your energy. That there were two different ways to enter the realm though created a flaw, though ssince she probably would not try and enter without him she would never see this void. The void was normally left untouched but if entered by some sort of freak accident, or a spell that ended someone wrongly in that realm then it would result in the previously mentioned happenings. Suka'd never find out about it, though he knew it was very posible and that's why he didn't try and fix it. Now he simply waited for her, anxious to created the doors into the next room to see what happened.

Karin stared at the portal a moment longer, gaze shifting to him as he let go of her hand to walk forward into it. She rocked back and forth on her feet a couple times, until she noticed the portal seemed to be growing smaller. She glanced around nervously and then dashed forward, jumping through probably needlessly. She stopped again once she'd arrived at Suka's side and stared around again. She'd never done anything even close to this, so she was definitely a little anxious, and probably sticking more closely to his side than needed. Though, so far she'd refrained from the previously mentioned clinging. She didn't really want to resort to that. She just had her hands in her sweatshirt pocket again, turning the X over between her fingers as her eyes roamed around the room they were now in. Her tail flicked very slowly back and forth behind her as she stared.

Looking over, she gave the young man a smile, not too many students had approached her since she had arrived. She gave a shy laugh at his comment about her "tricks" as he called them. "You like that," she said, her voice sounding softer than she had anticipated. "Perhaps you would like this trick a little better." Pulling out a small tube from her bag, she rolled it around her hands for a moment. One end of the tube looked as if it were the end of a horn of some sort. Pressing the end to her lips she blew into it softly, expelling a small trail of smoke out the other end. Moments later a small orb about two inches in diameter appeared on the end of the tube. Taking the small orb in her hand she pulled it off of the tube with a small snap and held it in her hand. Putting the tube back into her pack, she held up the ball to eye level and looked at it. It was not only perfectly spherical but it was perfectly clear as well. Closing her eyes, she knew the ball would soon begin to spin as if it were a top on the tip of her index finger. Moments later she opened her eyes and said something softly, too soft for anyone to hear. In seconds a light purple snowflake the size of the inside of the ball appeared within it. She looked over at the young man momentarily to see his reaction.

Orthae smiled as he watched the girl perform another trick with her magic. When she topped the whole thing off with the snowflake, his eyes widened in amazement. "Wow, that's incredible. You should show more people, I'm sure you could impress them, too." Orthae clapped his hands lightly, truly amazed. "So, you're an Ice Manipulator, eh? That's wonderful." Orthae stood up, walked around the tree, and squatted next to Raine. "Pardon me. Seems I've forgotten my manners. My name is Orthae Fuer'yon. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss...?" He left the end of the sentence open for her to fill in. It was only his third day here and he had already met someone truly interesting, and there was surely more to come during his stay, he could just feel it...

Raine smiled, "I'm Raine Starwind." She looked at the young man, spinning the small orb on the tips of her fingers. "Yes," she finally confessed. "I'm an ice manipulator, but the snowflake in the middle.." Suddenly the snowflake began to flash into random rainbow colors before it finally disappeared. "It doesn't really exsit," she said softly. "I'm also an illusionist you see." Letting the ball of ice drop from her fingertips into the palm of her hand she smiled up at him from where she was sitting. "So Sir Orthae Fuer'yon, you must have something special about you," she said politely. "I saw you fly in, its been a while since I've seen real flying besides my own."

Orthae chuckled. "Ah, yes. I'm surprised I managed to land correctly, I had been occupied all the while with my bag, you see. And an Illusionist, you say? That's fascinating! But, getting back to your first observation, yes, I do have powers as well. Why, I don't think I'd be at this lovely school if I didn't have my own unique abilities. All I have to do is grab my scarf here..." Orthae undid the scarf from his neck and held it out, draped over his hand, "And concentrate." Nothing about the scarf seemed to change... "There. Now, watch closely." The scarf was still as flexible before, but with a quick whip, the scarf sliced through the trunk of the tree. It was a clean, flat cut so the tree did not fall over. "I am what is called a 'Material Manipulator'. So I can bend the aspects of any material to whatever I desire. Be it cloth, ground, or stone. Like how I can make my scarf sharp as a razor..." Orthae wrapped the scarf around his neck again, "Or soft as a dove's feathers. Likewise, I could make my clothes as durable as steel. And..." Orthae placed a hand gently on the trunk of the tree. He whispered a word and his hand glowed with a white light. When the light disappeared, Orthae withdrew his hand and the severed tree was restored back to its original state. "I can use white magic. See? Good as new." Orthae squatted back down next to Raine again. "It's an honor to meet you, Illusionist Starwind." He said, using an honorative. Orthae had always been taught to be a gentleman, and being a gentleman meant being formal...a lot.

Raine smiled, "You don't have to be so formal you know. It is an honor to meet you as well." She put her hand to the tree and pressed her palm up against it as if testing his magical abilities. "Wow," she said pulling her hand back from the tree. "I haven't seen white magic in a really long time. Especially when it comes to healing trees. I'd imagine that must not be an easy feat." She looked at Orthae's scarf, not wishing to touch it for fear that it was some sort of material besides cotton or wool. Holding the small orb still in her hand, she allowed it to melt back into her skin so that she would not have to worry about it. "Your scarf," she began, feeling silly for asking such things, "what is it made of?"

She grumbled to herself about how stupid hospitals were.She made a mental note to go back there sometime and freeze all the doctors.As she walked her ears caught the sound of some students talking.She decided that it might be fun to take her anger out on them rather than keep it bottled up inside. She slowly snuck up to them.There was a boy and a girl.The girl she didn't know but the boy she did.
He's the one who put me in that bloody hospital!she thought.
This was a perfect time for her to get even with him.As she watched them, Hatsu began to move her hands.Suddenly a strange flower sprouted infront of the girl.It was purple with white speckles on the petals.It was closed at the moment but it could open up at anytime.

Kiri nodded at Zephel, agreeing to stop talking about what happened. She was getting ready to jump out of the tree when two boys showed up, holding two swords at Zephel. This startled Kiri, resulting in her almost falling out of the tree, but she caught herself and formed an orb of darkness in the palm of her hand. Fortunately, she decided not to attack and absorbed the orb like it was nothing. Looking at the two boys, she glared then turned her back on them, refusing to do anything to them.

Orthae undid the scarf once more and held it out to Raine. "Don't let the whole razor sharp edge fool you, that's gone by now. It's made of a high-quality material that's a combination of cotton and silk." After he finished his explanation, he noticed a flower spring to life in front of Raine. "Oh, that's interesting. First time I've seen a flower go from seed to bloom in less than a second." Orthae seemed calm, but still, he was alarmed at such a sudden appearance. Surely this was a trick of a nearby student. That explained the third presence he had been feeling around them. Sounding like he was talking to the air, he said, "You don't have to hide you know, we don't bite." He held an open palm over the flower and whispered a word. The flower glowed and and then returned to normal. He had purged any possible poisons, harmful substances, or spores from the flower. So, they were safe when it would open up.

Raine suddenly felt uncomfortable, she looked at the flower, its odd look surprised her. Looking at Orthae, and then around the courtyard, she clutched her hand into a tight fist. Moments later her fist was encased in a sheet of thick ice. "I don't like this," she said softly so that only he could hear her. "Something isn't right about this situation. If its another student, why won't they come out? Why don't they approach like anyone else?" She kept her ice covered fist pulled closely against her chest.

She frowned as she watched her creation be turned into a harmless plant by the one who had injured her not long ago.Hatsu moved her hands again and the flower shrivelled up and died.She came out of her hiding place and looked at them both."Thou hast ruined my pretty creation.Twas not nice of you.I believe I deserve an apology.she snapped at the boy.If looks could kill ,there would be daggers shooting out of her eyes right now.She glanced over at the girl and gave a small huff.

Suka blinked at the way she'd jumped through the portal but shrugged it off as he watched the portal close at three times the speed it was going. When the portal closed, the purple barrier that had provide a floor for them actually spread out and instead of creating a dome-like structure it was a hollow orb instead. Until they returned from the other realm it would stay there, completely visible, at the top of the large tree. After he saw it close, Suka turned to Karin. "Here we are...call it my home...call it my playground...call it my burden...either way it's the Nightmare Realm." he said this and then let go of the staff, and as he did it disapeared leaving a violet smoke behind it. He looked at the wall and after finding a mirror he turned his eyes the opposite way, and two huge doors appeared in the room. Within a blink they were there, no sound or anything, as if they were there the whole time but you couldn't see them. He walked over to the doors and grabbed oth of the handles turning his head towards her to see if she was ready to follow...though, deciding it was too late for her to turn back, he didn't wait to see and opened both of the doors wide. Through the doors was an almost endless looking hallway, and a door not a few steps into this hallway was the entrance to the throne room. This hallway was filled with cages that had no bars and only five walls, leaving the illusion that they were able to pas through...though they knew they were unable. At the farthest end of the hall was what looked like another portal, but from this distance it was hard to tell. At the near thiry foot cieling floated a large white mist that shined extremely brightly at it's own intervals, after seeing this he looked in Karin's direction again (wherever that was at this point). "This is where the Nightmares begin...not in the bedroom."
