Courtyard (North)

Raine watched Orthae for a moment, then when he offered to take her along with him she shrugged. "I wouldn't mind," she said sounding rather calm considering the situation. She had to walk quickly to keep up with his pace, but she knew the libary was rather close and she hoped that whomever they were looking for would still be there when they arrived. "Who is it exactly who we are looking for? Is everything alright?" She wasn't sure, but there was definately a change in his attitude suddenly, something had made him seem more serious than before.

Karin's eyes flicked towards him just for a second and then back to their surroundings. "Yeah..." she said softly, hands still in her pockets. So far she really was fine. Nothing had happened, and she was forcing herself not to look at the things they passed for longer than a second or two. She kept reminding herself they weren't able to get out just yet, so for now they were ok. Also, from what Suka had said a moment ago, it seemed he'd have no trouble at all if they were to be attacked. But, that didn't change the fact that her ears had flattened back nervously and her tail had wound around her right leg. She hadn't heard any of them speak since the very first one, and that made it a litlte bit easier for her to pretend they weren't paying attention to her as she walked. She was almost tempted to slip on her headphones though, to try distracting herself, but then she'd be even more paranoid becuase she wouldn't be able to hear properly. So she just remained silent, following slowly after him.

Orthae walked slower so Raine wouldn't have to move so fast to keep up with his strides. "We're looking for my brother, Verin. Apparently he electrocuted that poor girl back there with his wonderful black magic. I know I'm normally calm, and I'm sorry if the change of attitude has alarmed you, but if there's one person in this world who knows how to get under my skin, it's Verin..." Orthae arrived at the door to the library and threw it open, walking inside...

((And now we conveniently change the scene to The Library, whoo. >>; ))

After they passed through the fifth section and started on the sixth section he stopped for a moment, and held out both of his arms, palms turned behind him. After a moment two large blades appeared in mid air and he grabbed them before starting to walk again. This was the part where the Nightmares began to think more like humans...thus they would probably start jumping out at them...They made it all the way through that section safely, but in the seventh section each of the Nightmares were completely human looking, though they all either had a Nightmare tail, or wings, or both. All of their eyes were indigo now though...human looking eyes each with an indigo iris. He held the swords out to his sides as if they would drag along the ground and waited for one of them to jump out, walking the same speed as he had before they made it to this section...making the walk seem even longer as each of the nightmares looked down at them for a longer time than they would have, since their cages were all longer and larger.

Karin continued trailing quickly behind him, but paused as she saw him make the weapons appear. Or at least, she assumed he had made them appear. She didn't see why else they would have just come. She stared at her own hand for a moment, and then slipped it back into her pocket as her tail wound around her waist now rather than her leg. Her fingers curled around the X tightly as her eyes flicked around their surroundings, widening as she saw the first of the Nightmares in this section. She shivered slightly and looked to the ground, feeling their eyes upon her as well. She bowed her head slightly as well, as if trying to escape their gaze. But she continued moving after Suka, part of her wishing he would walk faster, maybe even break into a run or something. Though, she knew that wasn't going to happen, and it'd just let on to the creatures that she was more scared than she appeared to be.

Suka stopped and held his hand out signalling for her to stop to. He sniffed the air for a moment then dropped his hand, rolling his eyes, "Kage..." He spoke the name as if who he was speaking to had been annoying him for the past hour or something. He used a very irritable tone of voice.

Leaning against the invisible wall of one of the cages, a Nightmare slowly appeared that looked a lot like Suka, but younger, smaller waisted, and with markings on his face that started under his chin and ended about two inches onto his face. His facial expression set the difference between them in stone...he was smiling. "Well, well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Why'd you have to go and give it away?" he said this through a wide smile that he wore, and he stood up strait leaning over to look Karin in the face. "I didn't think you liked Cats Suka..."

"It doesn't matter whether or not I like cats...don't worry about such things Kage...and what are you dong way down here in the level seven section? your level nine or ten...I keep forgetting..but either way your at least two levels behind where you should be." he said this and that's when he noticed how close he'd gotten to Karin. He blinked a couple times, watching him close."What're you doing?"

There was silence as he continued to look her over...he seemed really interested. Though he was only looking her in the face. He ignored the question completely.

spike carefuly walked into the courtyard still not yet used to being so visible and nervouse about not having anywhere to take cover. strugglingly he forced himself to continue on, not wanting to be left open on all sides he made his way towards the fountain in the center of the courtyard and sat down.silently he sat wondering how he would react should anyone approach him

Karin paused as Suka held his hand out, lifting her face to figure out why they'd stopped. Her ears twitched slightly as she heard a name and how he said it, and then her eyes flicked around, trying to see who he was talking to. They widened slightly again as she saw someone seemingly appear and stared at him as he looked at her. Her ears flattened back again as her eyes narrowed slightly, though her hands remained in her pockets, and her tail tightly around her waist. She took a small step back as she realized he'd ignored Suka's question and was just staring at her instead. She somewhat wished she hadn't finished that last bottle of water, and had brought it with her. Right now she was defenseless except for her claws and teeth. But she continued watching him steadily, able to keep the fear from her face after years of practice. "...what?" she asked after a moment, frowning now. She didn't like the way he was looking at her.

"I dunno..." he stood up straight again, having been leaning over slightly so that he could see her eye to eye. But now his smile had gone as a curious expression replaced it...though it didn't last long. He raised a finger up to his face, resting it slightly off to the side of his chin as he thought for a few moments...After those few moments were up a smirk made it's way on his face and he snapped his fingers. When he did that there was a birhgt white spark between his fingers...the white mist at the cieling flashed at the same time and a ball of pure white energy appeared in front of his fingers as he snapped. It split into three and the balls of energy started to fly at her from different directions, going straight through her and making the places they passed extremely hot only when they touched. "...Nice target for practicing this new ability though..."

Suka turned around after he answered Karin's question and not his and held the blades limp at his sides as he watched the orbs do whatever they were doing. "So it worked?-wait! what are you doing to her?" he looke shocked that he hadn't noticed earlier that they were passing through her repetitively. "Stop that!"

"No..." he smirked and then made them go faster as he said this. "How much you wanna bet I'm better than you now?"

"Nothing...you're not...now stop, Kage, I don't want to have to force you to." he didn't know how he was going to do that...if he was forced to try he might actually end up actually being unable. He looked to Karin to see if she was okay...he had no idea what was actually happening to her

Karin continued watching him, barely resiting the urge to step back again, or maybe go over to Suka and hide behind him. Her eyes followed his hand as he moved it towards his face, which had taken on a smirk, and then snapped his fingers. She jumped slightly, her eyes widening as she did take a step back now, away from the spark that seemed to spring from nowhere. Before she could react, one of the balls it had split into hit her, and she gasped in surprise and alarm as her hand flew to cover where it'd touched, checking for singe or burn marks. She bit her tongue as she wrapped her arms around herself, though she didn't think that'd do any good. It just reduced the amount of her that was exposed very slightly. She shut her eyes tightly as she bowed her head. "Stop it!" she growled suddenly, but she still didn't look up. Her ears flattened back further, actually pressed firmly against her head. She was really scared now, but her instincts were still telling her not to show it.

Kage did not stop and so Suka had to take things into his own hands. He stood back a bit and slipped the blades through his belt. He held out his hand again and his staff appeared in it. "I don't use this on you very much because it's not my style...but I've no time to play games, Kage. No time at all." After he finished his sentence energy began flashing at the end of the staff again and he muttered just one word under his breath. He looked to Karin and watched the balls of energy at least slow down the split second he'd done that.

kage blinked as he saw the stafff and stopped smirking. he watched it lose and listened to what he said...as soon as the word was mumbled he gripped his head as if he suddenly had an extremely bad headache. "Fu-- Ugh! Stop.....stop it!...." he backed up holding his head. When he hit the wall of a cage again theballs of energy dissipated. "Mother...Fuc-"

Suka dropped the staff, it turning to smoke and dissappearing, and pulled the blades again putting one to his throat before he could finish. "If I tell you to stop then do it next time..." he pulled the blade away and watched as Kage dissappeared again. This time he actually moved to one of the cages farther up, they would see him again before the end. "Are you okay Karin?" he asked walking over to her and dropping the blades to the ground. He put one hand on her arm and the other on the opposite shoulder.  

[emo tear. cut. cut.]

Raven enters the courtyard and looks around. She reconized a few people, knew who they are? No, but she reconized them. She reajusts her messenger bag on her shoulder and strolls towards the giant tree. She sits down on the grass at the base of the trunk and pulls a book out of her bag. She opens it to a spot that a leather book marker is keeping. Her hair started fading from hot pink to black to pink again like it usually does when she's consintrating and doesn't keep her powers in check. She doesn't really care as long as she doesn't start sprouting tenticles or anythings.

Karin hugged herself a bit more tightly as she bowed her head further, biting her lip now. Her ears twitched though as she heard Suka speaking, followed by the frequency of the balls of energy hitting her starting to slow a bit. She peeked her left eye open slowly as she stared at Kage, watching him backing away holding his head. She blinked a couple times in confusion as she stared at him, and then watched as Suka approached him, and he disappeared. She remained frozen for a moment, and then slowly pulled her arms partly away from herself, gaze shifting back to Suka as he approached her. "Um, y-yeah..." she stammered quietly and then looked down at her sweatshirt, checking to see if it was burnt anywhere. "Wh-what was he doing?" she asked uneasily, still obviously shaken up.

"I don't know...looks like the Holy power made it here though..." he said this and then looked up at the ceiling. "Do you have that cross that I let you hold still?" he looked down at her after he asked her. He had a feeling that it might have had something to do with the holy power...once he found out that it was heating up he'd be completely sure though. He had a few ideas on what the mist was doing up there...and if the cross had anything to do with it then he might be able to find out which idea was right, if any of them. It seemed that the Nightmares had been given some kind of Holy power from what he did...so just as he had planned if another war was fought it would be over quickly. That was all he was hoping for in doing what he wanted to anyway. He didn't feel anything changing in him though so that was a good thing...he really didn't want to have anything change. He rarely got what he wanted though...not here.
