"Sorry," Koga mumbled, leading Nevin through the doorway and leaving the milkman alone on the steps. Once the door clicked closed, Koga leaned against it heavily and sighed. He eyed Nevin suspiciously, wondering if he'd caught on yet. Stupid b*****d, implying something that had happened so long ago.
"Thanks," he said, "for playing along." *** Taboo pursed her lips, contemplating. A guinea pig. That wasn't necessarily a good thing when it came to Trigger. However, if things were successful, she'd have two bodies, maybe, and she'd have a better chance with Logan.
"Okay," she said, giving Logan a sidelong glance, "I'll do it."

Nevin nodded, facing away. He hadn't exactly caught on, but he knew something more was going on than he thought. He gave Koga a quick smile over his shoulder. "I'm going to go for a walk for a while, get some things from Trigger's place, okay?"
He didn't wait for an answer, instead walking past him and out the door. Koga would tell him when he was ready (he guessed). But for now, he needed to be somewhere else, where he wouldn't think so much on what he wasn't saying.
Trigger nodded and stood up. "Let's go back then. I'm sick of all the sand already." She picked Taboo off the ground and carried her back to the Shop, still somewhat sullen.
A few days later, Trigger had completed her preliminary tests and went upstairs with what looked like a small remote in her hand. "Hey, Taboo, c'mere."
Kitty popped up and sat on Trigger's shoulder. "So Taboo's finally abandoning me?"
"Not entirely. If I'm right, she should be able to switch back and forth."
Kitty shrugged. "Not like she'll want to after a while. Hey, make me someone new. Someone that won't run off with one of your kids."
Trigger laughed. "After Logan, they're all taken, and I don't plan on having any more. Four's enough, thanks."
Kitty's stitched mouth widened in a smile. "Ah, but plans never seem to work. You didn't plan any of the ones you've already got. Who's to say more might not spring up?"
Trigger frowned. "You're an a*****e. Remind me again why I made you?"

Taboo enthusiastically approached Trigger, studying the remote eagerly. It was exciting, thinking she'd have a big body soon. Although she was feeling guilty about Kitty.
"I'll switch, Kitty," Taboo promised, "I won't forget you."
"Logan's gonna lose her virginity," Ban sang as she balanced marshmellows upon a pickle. It had started a couple months ago, this sudden craving for strange snack combinations.
Elsewhere, Koga had been in a panic. When Nevin hadn't returned home, he'd gone out searching, but so far, nothing.
"Nevin! Nevin, where are you?"

Trigger handed the device to Taboo. "Here, just flip the switch. It'll take your soul or essence or whatever it is and stick it in that little container. Then I'll put it in the new body, and voila, you can go back and forth."
Kitty, from her perch, crossed her arms and refused to look at Taboo. "No, go on. I don't need you any more." Despite the stoic behavior, inside, she was rather upset.
Nevin, unlike most who went missing, was perfectly fine. He'd simply wandered into the woods and not come back. At current, he was being entertained by some dryads, who, unlike their watery cousins, were not planning on eating him. Of course, there was the one with the bright green eyes that kept silently staring at him, but that was a different kind of eating he had in mind. Nevin himself had lost track of the days. He thought he'd only been gone mere minutes.

"Well," Taboo said, glaring at Ban, "here goes nothing."
Taking a deep breath, Taboo pressed the switch! A thin string of essence seeped from her mouth, swirling its way into the container. Her eyes reverted back to two beady black eyes and she collapsed to the floor, nothing more than a lifeless ragdoll.
"Now what?" Ban asked, nibbling at a marshmellow.
Eventually, Koga found himself at the edge of the forest. He didn't like wandering too far from civilization, but what if Nevin was in there? Lost? "Nevin," he called, stepping into the shrubbery. (Oh man, the knights are gonna be pissed...XD)

Logan nodded and stepped aside for her to enter, grabbing a book off a chair. "Here's a version that's a little more suited to this size." He handed it to her and sat down on the bed, patting the space beside him. "C'mon, sit. I'm sure it's comfier than that chair."
Nevin squirmed. "N-No, I'm fine, I just--I'm so sorry, I don't deserve your time, your attention, please, let me go--" He still hadn't forgotten what had happened when they had come home. Heh, home. What did he know of that? He'd never really had one, and by the looks of things, he never would.
