More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

" Heh sorry, next time we should take turns in taking a shower when something like this presents itself. We both find it hard to hold back." He said as he rinsed his hair. Glancing over to Trinity he used his power to draw a little apologetic smiley face on the mirror. At least that was his intend. Still it came out well enough without cracking the mirror.

" Man I suck at making smiley faces."

Getting out of the shower he put his hands on Trinity's shoulders as he stood behind her.

" Maybe it's the nerves that i'm like this at the moment. It's just that...things could go wrong...and I...just don't want to think of what could go wrong I suppose." He said softly as he looked at her through the mirror.

Trinity looked distant as she nodded in agreement. Her eyes watched as Theonis drew a smiley face, she smiled a little. Then smirked and looked down a little as he made the comment about the smiley face. She felt his hands on her shoulders. Then looked back at him in the reflection. She held a finger to his lips, then faced him, "Then don't... don't think about the future for now just think about the present and I'll do the same. Come, we should do lunch, I don't know about you but I'm famished." She said as she dried herself off and wrapped the towel around her she opened the door and instead of going through it she went to the dark side of the door. then came back dressed as she was before and fully dried with the towel in hand. She folded it back up and placed it in the laundry shoot that was in the bathroom.

" It's hard not to do.I've already lost everyone thanks to Daedelus, I'd hate to lose you too Trin."

He dried himself, using his power in a new way to squeeze out most of the water in his hair. Unlike Trinity he had to get dressed without cheating. He couldn't just step into the shadows re-emerge clothed.

" Doesn't that make you lazy if you keep on doing that?" He asked as he put on his shoes.

Trinity paused at his comment and thought about it as she stepped in. It bothered her, so much so she didn't hear his question about the way she dressed. She looked back at him, "Which is worse? Being over protected or doubting the skills you've trained with for years. Theonis... you're not loosing me to Daedalus, they would have a hell of a time trying to take me out that's for sure."

She was just too worked up, "Sorry Theonis... I think I should just have lunch by myself before I say something I'll regret..." she started to go into the shadow.

" Yeah no hold on" Theonis said and stopped her from stepping into the shadow by using his powers. Instantly he let go of her. It was only to show that he wanted to talk instead of forcing her to stay and listen.

" I don't doubt your skills Trinity. Nor do I think I am strong enough to protect you from that thing. It's just that...against Daedelus I am confident you or I can take on anything but this is something else. " Theonis confessed.

Trinity was stepping through but felt herself being pulled back. She felt the force let go. Her arms folded as she listened to what Theonis had to say. She had one guess what this is about but didn't want to assume. She sat with him "Something else?"

She folded her arms. Usually not a good sign.
" This...new being. He ...ah...never mind. Can't I just be worried about you without being over protective?" He asked, eyes cast down. He never did know what to say in situations like these.

Trinity unfolded her arms and placed her hands on her sides. Her eyes looked down in thought. She had been fighting any hint or any sense of doubting her skills or being over protected that she didn't think about the meaning of why someone would say something like that to begin with. Usually the relationship would end there leaving Trinity out to prove herself.

"I... I don't know...
My past flings, they tend to be soldiers or bigger than you, no offense...
At that point when they say something like that, they start thinking I'm weak. That I can't handle my job in protecting Vallhalla. That they have to protect me like some little sister... or something..."

Her eyes narrowed a little,"...and I just can't stand that... y'know? There have been at least 3 who have lost their lives because they were under that impression..."

Daisy raised a brow surprised that Gidget was so confident she could provide something she had only considered a pipe dream, but then again Gidget was a genius at electronics, why should it surprise her. The news about Annie having a son struck her as odd, but it wasn't like the girl had chose it from what Gidget was saying. She thought briefly about the child who had reminded her of someone, could that have been Annie's son? It didn't matter.

Daisy finally said, "Must have been a lot of fun to try and capture someone who can create acid out of water for Daedalus... Anyways, you were saying that the traditional approaches and current ideas won't work? You have to destroy the core. So, it is like gardening, you don't want to weed to cut the weed off at the base, you've got to pull it up by the roots. I assume you have a plan to kill this thing that once was your brother at the core, then. How do I come in? There isn't much I can do. I'm not some scientific mind and if I was a meta, like Daedalus thinks I am, I don't have a power that can help. And, I don't buy having headaches and a talent for finding trouble counts as being a meta-human."

Gidget stopped working on the suit and began to create something that looked like some sort of gaudy headset.

"I do have a plan, and you don't have to worry about that part. You come in as the person the public trusts to tell them the truth. I can't allow you to die before that happens."

Kerana

Kerana was just getting used to the water when she saw this tidal wave heading her way. ": uh oh." she started to swim away from it only to be swept away by it. " cat_surprised EEEEE YAAAAHHHH" she landed on her head near Deora then fell forward. "... oi...." she rubbed her head a little, but at least she was safe.

Sara was swimming under water when the wave hit. she tried her best to stay in the water but was thrown out, after the other girls. Her back hit the wall first, rendering her unconscious. She was still breathing, one could tell because the gills that lined the sides of her chest were still breathing.


"OMG! Sara?!?"

Heather's laughter was cut short by the unconscious meta laying across from her. She scurried over to her then checked her breathing and pulse.

Larry, able to stand in the middle of the pool, looked over to the fish girl. She was hurt, and he knew it was his fault. He put his hands on top of his head and started to cry. "Fishy. Hurt?"

Heather knew that if she didn't bring Sara around quick that Lawrence would pitch a fit, and no one would be safe if that happened. She didn't know any first aid, but she knew enough about her own anatomy to try something.

She bit her bottom lip as she reached behind her head with both hands. Her teeth ground together as she snapped off one of her spikes. A little bit of blood came out, it was red, but not enough for her to be in any danger. She put the spike under Sara's nostrils and broke it in half. A shockingly strong and pungent odor came from it. Heather hoped it would be enough to bring the mer-meta around.

Gidget stopped working on the suit and began to create something that looked like some sort of gaudy headset.

"I do have a plan, and you don't have to worry about that part. You come in as the person the public trusts to tell them the truth. I can't allow you to die before that happens."

Daisy couldn't help but laugh slightly at Gidget's assertion about her being someone the public trusts to tell them the truth. "It has been a while since I've told the truth, or at least the whole truth, to the public," she said with a wry smile. "You put too much faith in me, of course, so does the public. I guess that is why I am so important to you. But don't worry, give me the truth to work with I will make sure the public gets it before I die of some unfortunate event."

Gidget smirked as she attached the device to her head and connected a wire to the port in her neck. "That's what I'm counting on news lady. If anyone from here were to come forward with the info it would be suspect. People believe what you have to say, no matter what it is. It will be the beginning of the end for Daedalus. No more hunting parties, dirty experiments, or people having to die because of fear."

A few lights on the headset blinked on. Gidget's brow came together in deep concentration. The suit of armor next to her began to move. First the right arm, and then the fingers moved next. A few weapons compartments slid open and then shut as quickly. She made a face and had the machine drop it's arm.

"There's still some lag, but it's almost there. You said that the headaches dissipate as you approach trouble? Maybe you are somehow dependent on the chemical that causes the fight or flight reflex? You may just have some sort of imbalance. Have you come into contact with a meteor fragment or anything like it?"

" It's kind of in a man's nature to protect his girl though. I hope you can understand that." He paused." And I can understand that it's infuriating but that won't stop me from worrying. That's all I''m saying Trin. I would never humiliate you like that." He said with a bit of a smile after a more serious look.

He really gets it... finally someone who really gets it... She looks back to him and smiled back. "Thank you... Theonis...

Just be aware, that part of my job is to put my life on the line. One of these days I may not come back... when that day happens and I die on the battle field protecting Valhalla, I have fulfilled my duty. It's the life of a soldier, it's the life I've chosen...

This is why the here and now are so valuable to me. Every moment is precious and every moment with you even more so." she places her hand on his, "Because of those moments, I'll do whatever it takes to make it back alive. Promise me you'll do the same... Theonis." she held up his hand chest level looking into his amber eyes.

He grasped her hand as she raised them.

" Since I've met you I've got things to look forward to. I still have things I feel I need to do as opposed to not caring about anything. I have you to thank for that. I am not planning of dying any time soon." Theonis replied and looked into her emerald eyes.

Shivers were sent down her spine as she listened to Theonis. In such a short time they've completely changed each other's lives. "I love you Theonis..." she waited for his response then kissed him deeply. She kissed him as if it would be her last.

The special moment was interrupted by Trinity's stomach growling. They parted, she rubbed her head and laughed, "I guess that's my stomach saying 'where's this lunch you keep talking about?' "
