@Toki: Yush. Long live China. I can't wait for the asians to better the whites and the Americans. xd Me? Racist? Never. ninja

You've never met me in real life before. For all you know, I might be a gangster, and then you'd have to eat your hat, and I would take great pleasure from it.

Yeah, I get the same impression too. The only thing I like about HK is the public transport, because it's s**t over here. rolleyes

*hasn't seen the Leonaenae discussions so no comment*

OK, OK, I'm posh compared to you! But then again, that ain't hard... stare And if you wanna meet stuck up, you're welcome to come visit my school. xp

Well, duh. I meant the centre busy bit compared to, I dunno, Moss Side. Which is the Peckham of Manchester, btw. And lawd, you lived in Peckham?! eek I-I'm talking to a real live chav, aren't I? xd

I kid, I kid, but isn't Peckham meant to be, like... totally chavvy?

@cbc: M'dear, there is no need for to hide your anger in between the lines. This is the Rant Thread. Please, swear all you like at random institutions.

W-Wait. You're British? sweatdrop I had no idea. xd And this means you're in the same year as me. So, what course are you applying for, and which unis? I haven't even started my PS, but at least I know what I'm even doing now!

To be honest, I don't see what's so great about Britain. Everything CLOSES so early! Honestly, what do you guys do at night aside from going clubbing? >.> And in terms of scenery (the Lake District and such), nowhere beats California. Discounting Asia, that is.

Of course, London nightlife probably > Cambridge nightlife, I'll give you that much. Cambridge is a pretty small town...

@chibi: long live China? ahaha were you one of the people who CRIED when Liu Xiang had to pull out? I felt so bad. For him and the rest of China. It meant so much to them...

... long live Taiwan! :3

yeah, you and your brother look like such gangsters. oh my. /throws a west side hand signal at you

and you get used to America after awhile. /doesn't see anything v. awe or fear-inspiring. except maybe the the antics of mr. idiote bush.

@cbc: aww good luck! I went to Aussie once with my orchestra. I learned that the Sidney Opera House has awesome purple carpets. :3

@toki: no, actually, I am not. I'm a high school senior (12th grade), which I guess in your terms would be somewhere around college? I dunno what I'm still doing around here, though, coz all my friends have graduated off to uni and LEFT ME. ALL ALONE. T_____T

no really. but I'm ready to get out of California. I just wish I could do it without having to go through apps... they're such a hassle.

well then just stay away from NY and Chicago and the like and come to CA! California's probably one of the chillest states around. Even all the radicals in Berkeley are hella chill. Y'know, hippie-ness and all that. The weed smoke probably gets to their brain. :3

(though granted NY's pretty ******** awesome)

Peh. You get used to it here. whee I don't want to go out, hence why Britain suits me. And yes, I already said there is nothing great about Britain whatsoever. It's an average country that rains all the time. Lol. It's not even pretty. Lawd.

Dude. Ken and I are, like, part of a real life gang. wink

I didn't cry about Liu Xiang, but I did care for the same reason. I wasn't that bothered about the fact China might not have another medal. I was more concerned for him. I mean, all that pressure on him and then he couldn't compete. Poor fella. I felt so sorry for him. To wait four years and then pull out in front of your duped home crowd. Maa... I wish I could've made his foot better for him so he could run. xd I mean, I didn't care about the golds at the time. We were totally gonna win it anyway.

Though, despite the fact I love China and being Chinese, I really think it has its... well. It's no perfect, that's for sure. And I'd never live there. The government's ******** up. Just as the States, no offence. I don't think ours is much better, but I'd live in Britain anyday than go to the US or China.

Yeah. I meant Bush. He instils fear in me to stay far away from the States. rolleyes

HK actually does have ONE good thing besides its transport and McDonalds. It has the least tax in the world. *glowers at British tax*

Er, I'd rather have a stack of McDonalds than a bunch of Starbucks stores in my local area. Apparently the overwhelming majority of Australians agrees with my sentiment, considering that Starbucks has basically pulled out of Australia and is closing all of its local branches. Perhaps we Australians just didn't like the atrocious coffee that Starbucks served. mrgreen

@B&B: CBC's an Aussie, like me and Sin. I thought you knew that?

@CBC: Lol good luck at getting the scholarship. You probably have a 1 in 1000 chance of getting in. It sucks but the matter of fact is Asians, especially local ones, are still heavily discriminated against, whether by white elites, blue collar folk, or overseas Asians who are highly prized by universities because they can pay huge sums of money. Unless your family's unemployed and barely survives on the dole, I don't think they're going to give you a $5000 scholarship. Unless of course it's one of those outstanding academic types, in which all you need to do is to get 99.9% or above on your ENTER score. ninja

@Mini: LOL. You're really a great motivator Mini. Maybe the best. xD

@CBC: Don't listen to the elf, dear. Of course you'll get the scholarship. You know why? Cos you're an ICU-er, and they can see that. wink xd

@Fwoom: There's nowt to do in Britain. NOWT. Except maybe the art of conversation. That's why myself and Niph are such great linguists. ;D

And why are you so crazy about CA? Explain. o.0

@Chibs: Long live china? Nu nu nu, you got me all wrong, baby. I'm not really on the chinese's side, I'm just looking out for number one. But when they do finally take over, I'll just pretend I was on their side all along. ninja

If you really were a gangster, not only would I eat my hat, I'd also report you to the police. razz

I only lived in Peckham til I was like 5, so can't remember any of it lol. But yeh, it must've been tough, from what I can imagine...

@Niph: I didn't mean a large number of McDonalds. We have that over here, and quite frankly, everywhere in the world nearly. xd I just love HK McDs because they have such varying foods at such a cheap price. Their selection is ginormous conpared to Britain's measley and over-priced McDs. rolleyes

And I love Starbucks, even though I hate tea, coffee and hot chocolate and rely on its Iced Mango and Passion Fruit or Tropical thing. rofl

@Fwoom: Really? I always thought American Starbucks was amazing. xd

@Mini: Yeah, so would I, only because I rely on McDs way more. cool

Nein, I had no idea. Or maybe I forgot. ninja

@Toki: I think it's because Fwoom lives in CA?

Phff. You traitor. Back-stabber. You're the one who needs reportin'. xp And as if they'd ever catch me. ninja

So? I live in Bath and don't start shouting it's praises all over the place. rolleyes

How am I a traitor? I'm not on the side of the British nor the Chinese. Surely that makes me neutral? razz

*handcuffs Chibs* You're comin with me... to the bedroom. cool

*takes her to the cop shop* :minininja:

@chibs: well my taste for coffee has gradually grown, and starbucks coffee is somewhat tamer than the stuff I had in cambridge. and there was this one family-run business (Clowns cafe) that I frequented ALL THE TIME and loved to pieces, and when I went home all the chain store coffee just couldn't match up to them. sad

@toki: hahaha actually I'm not, particularly. (though it is quite nice here.) in actuality, I find CA a bit too tame for my tastes (as in, all the people are TOO chill >>;; ) and am doing my best to get off to NY or MA for college.

maybe that's because there's nothing to praise about Bath. xP

@B&B: I'm a McDonald's junkie too. I have to eat there at least once a week. Sometimes more. And I agree with you about the HK and Chinese McDonalds having a better selection of products; when I went there last year I was surprised at the burgers they sold. However, the Australian McDonalds has quite a good range of meals as well.

@Toki: Oh ho ho, you've gone way too far Toki. Trying to seduce B&B by handcuffing her? As if she's going to be restrained by you. rolleyes
PostPosted: Tue Sep 09, 2008 9:45 am
*nods along vigorously at Mini's words* EXACTEMENT! *sticks finger in Toki's chest* JE SUIS INNOCENT ET TU ES TRES STUPIDE! *vanishes into smoke* ninja
You'll never catch me.

*looks at Mini with interest* Just wondering - whaddya think will restrain me? ninja

@Toki: Neutral, that's me. Traitor, that's you. When it comes to a war or something, anyway. xp I'd be striving for a peace treaty and you'd be there to mess it all up and cause havoc, ne? rolleyes

@Fwoom: Maa, I'll never like English tea or coffee or hot choc, though the latter is drinkable. I'll stick to water, Coke and Oasis. xd

And Bath? No. Nothing at all. mrgreen

@Mini: Dude, McDonalds is amazing. It's not healthy, but... it's just so edible. 4laugh

And when I come to Aussie one day, you and Sin and cbc (if she isn't too lazy) need ta show me around! You know I'm so fond of you especially. You remind me of good times in the ICU. xd

Lol thanks for the compliment. xd I'll be delighted to show you around Melbourne if you come here. Maybe even try to entice you to stay. 4laugh But then Sin and CBC live in Sydney, which I personally I don't like. ninja

And I know McDonald's isn't exactly healthy. I've probably wrecked my body from eating their too often. But you know how some people have a fast food addiction? I have it. I can't stop myself from eating there. Thankfully I've stayed clear of alcohol or tobacco, so at least I won't have to deal with any health problems related to them.

PS: Restrain you? Um I wouldn't dare try to think of one. ninja
PostPosted: Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:25 pm
@chibs: Yeah? I used to laugh in all the caffeine-addicts' faces and tell them off about how bad coffee was, until I got into it. >.> retribution.

@mini: Have you ever read the book Fast Food Nation?
