More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Gidget was glad to hear that Ako still had her device. It filled her with a sense of pride, and maybe even a little more love toward the man.

The turned her attention to Theonis. "Daedalus is working in conjunction wit the army to try and destroy the biomass. Try being the key word in that sentence. For being the one's responsible for making this mess, they sure as Hell have no idea how to fix it. They may as well be attacking the water to stop the wave. They will probably pull back soon once they've figured- yup, there they go."

The hologram displayed the military and Daedalus retreating ground forces. There were still artillery shells being fired at it, but anything close enough to the thing's psychic disruption was no longer an issue.

"They've finally wised up to the psychic pulses that thing is pouring out. They will keep at it all the way until it reaches Knoxburgh. A last stand attempt will be made minimally to keep up appearances, and then they will purge the city."

Annie nodded as Gidget explained she hadn't had time to adjust the band to behave the same way her body suit does. It would give her greater reason not to liquify and make it easier for her to not liquify, though it further confirmed her suspicions it was going to be a suicide mission for her. Quietly she watched as Daedalus pulled back. Stretching she stood before touching her side as she noticed the bones in her ribs were fixed. "I probably wouldn't liquify anyways," Annie muttered, "It would use up too much energy. Good news, I don't think after this, Gidget, you will have to worry about convincing me to do anything."

"Yeah, because you'll get what you want: a death going down in some blaze of glory or whatever," muttered Christian, spitefully.

Annie shrugged before leaning down and ruffling his hair, "Yeah, but regardless of what you may think, that is the best I can hope for. Happy endings aren't deserved by bad people. Remember, I killed your Dad."

Christian rolled his eyes and turned and said, "I don't care. I'm going to leave. I don't want to hear about this latest plan that'll end up getting a bunch of people killed, probably."

Daisy paused and leaned down and said something to the boy, who frowned and nodded. Turning her head she said, "Actually, I think it would be best if I stay away from this mess. If it is okay, Gidget and the rest of you, I want to interview the child and work on amassing my media assault on Daedalus."

Gidget nodded at Daisy. "That's fine, he probably shouldn't be around for the next part of this discussion anyway. As intelligent as you are, little dude, there are some things I don't think a kid should be exposed to."

Theonis looked at the visual and shrugged. He felt surprisingly little about it. Perhaps because it was Daedelus. " Really for an anti-meta organization they kinda lack what it takes on the bigger scale huh?" Theonis said casually.

" Say...not sure if I should ask but...do we have anything to er....enhance yourself a bit? I mean since I AM in charge of keeping us protected in there, I'd like to know if there is anything that could give me a boost."

Daisy nodded, "Thanks." She leaned down to Christian's level and asked him if he was up to answer a few questions for a camera and be on TV. Christian frowned slightly and nodded, "Sure, but I want this to be spun so I don't come out as some freak experiment."

Daisy nodded, "Deal." Smiling she shook his hand and picked him up carrying him out.

After they left, Annie heard Theonis's question and paled at his question. If she wasn't so concerned with Theonis's question she might have been a little more curious about the reporter's plans with her son. "Seriously? You did not just ask that. Why do you think we're in this situation in the first place?"

She stood up, clenching her fists so hard her nails dug into her palms, "Of course, there is a way to enhance your powers, though, I don't know if Valhalla has access to it still, but..." She shook her head, "It's a bad idea. People, metas, trying to enhance their powers started all this. If it wasn't for Cortez and it wasn't for me being so impulsive and the psychotic Dr. Acula, Shane wouldn't have become that- that monster!"

She glanced at Gidget, "Please tell me you got rid of that stuff and that if you didn't you are going to, immediately, before someone else uses it. It's not stable and it makes people not stable or less stable than they should be. I should know."

" I didn't mean it like that Annie! I meant a little boost. Not the stuff they treated Shane with. I don't even think that's wise with my genes. Hell I'm still changing and it's already been a month" Theonis defended himself.

" I am planning of making it back alive out of that thing. So I'll take every advantage I can take.Our lives depend on me alright? I have to get us there with you two making the way. I'm not saying I will use it right away but if things do get tough and I don't see another way I will. But that's besides the point. Right now we don't even know if they have that stuff here."

"A little boost?" Annie laughed, "Well, you get more than a little boost with the stuff they treated Shane with- the stuff I treated myself with before he was treated with it. Anyhow, the substance works pretty well for those who don't have a natural resistance, which metas don't if I understand correctly."

She pinched the bridge of her nose as she thought, "I would be pretty much unstoppable if my body had ever caught up with my powers. And, if you ask Gidget, I'm only unhinged because I want to be and I don't want to get better." She shrugged, "Actually, that might be the case. Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised if some of that stuff is still floating around. Bad things tend to end up locked up in some back closet instead of properly destroyed."

"Oh you can bet that stuff is good and destroyed. I'm sure the only people that still have any of it are Daedalus. Especially since they used my body to create another siphon machine to make it with."

Annie raised one of her darkly dyed brows and said grimly, "There you go. It is in some back closet somewhere. Only just Daedalus "the bad guys" have it. I suppose I should take living through this whole ordeal with the biomass a little more seriously, so I can get back and take on Daedalus."

She ran her hand through her hair and muttered, "I guess going straight first into danger, like my usual plans, won't work to find the machine either... I suppose I could return to Daedalus, only this time refuse to be locked up but offer to "help" them contain whatever situations they have and whatever that reporter is cooking up."

She glanced up and said, "Regardless, we- I- should focus on the problem at hand for the moment until that is solved. We have a game plan of sorts, I'm ready to go in any time. They have me all fixed up, now. I could go liquid easily if I wanted now. Not that I would as I am trying to save my energy. Speaking of which I should eat first. About ten cheese burgers should do: I have a fast metabolism." Her fast metabolism was more of a result of when she used her powers than anything. She was only half joking about the food.

" That's....too bad I suppose. But good at the same time." Theonis mutter to himself, accepting the outcome.

He was in fact a bit surprised about Annie. Was it just him or did she think she wasn't coming back at first? Normally you'd wanna help the guy who would keep you safe in a situation like this right? But she didn't even seem to consider powering him up. Then again she didn't say that she was against him powering up. Just opposed to using that stuff. Not that it makes a difference. As far as Theonis knew it was the only way.

One other thing that he didn't expect was her food consumption. Theonis, who almost didn't need food would still be able to preform at his best. But Annie needed a lot of food to keep her powers going? Maybe he was just the exception to that.

" I barely need food so I'm good. Never really been hungry the past couple of days despite pushing my power."

Trinity kept to herself, quiet as she started thinking about ideas of what to do when she had to lead her troops to battle. Her eyebrow quirked a little as Theonis made his suggestion thinking along the same line as Annie. But felt relieved that, that specific method wasn't what he was looking for. Granted his intentions were in the right place.

Speaking about powering up she may have to take it into consideration considering what she was planning. After launching the others into this thing and before the troops go charging in she wanted to keep the beast occupied with shadows drawn from the bigger buildings of the facility. Perhaps keep it out there as long as she can while the soldiers do their work. Although her sensei gave the serum to Gidget so that Trinity wouldn't abuse it for every fight or something. This is no typical fight and if they are going to win she would need that boost she used before after her first confrontation with Shane.

The subject of food came up, her eyebrows raised a little as Annie mentioned consuming 10 cheeseburgers. There's got to be a better, healthier way for her to maintain her metabolism.

"Theonis and I just ate at the Food Court. Are you sure that cheeseburgers are the best route to take in regards to your metabolism? I'm not sure if that's the healthiest way to go about it.
Gidget, how about you? Are you hungry? Annie, when was the last time you guys stopped and eat?"

"Actually, I just need a lot of Calories, it doesn't have to be cheeseburgers," Annie replied. "I had a fast metabolism even before the meteor shower and I still do. Actually, it was mentioned once or twice to me that to change the molecular compound of a substance like I do, requires mass amounts of Calories. I think Daedalus used to have me on a high Calorie diet of protein shakes and things like steaks and a lot of carbs like pastas. Or that is when I wasn't force fed a liquid diet."

She stood and asked more herself than anyone else, "When was the last time we stopped and ate? Maybe five or six hours tops, but I didn't eat as much as I should have at the time and healing has made me even hungrier. Honestly, I don't care that much about what I eat as long as it has a lot of Calories so I don't run out of energy when I'm fighting the biomass. I'll worry about finding food I like when we get back."

Gidget listened to the back and forth conversation between Annie and Theonis. While she was on the same side of the line as Annie, she couldn't say the same for her glaringly morbid outlook on the mission. Gidget made a mental note to address this after everything was done. As much as Annie was pissing her off, they were still friends.

"I'll be alright for now. Throwing up a few times has put me off my appetite, and there is much work to be done. Everyone take a break for the next hour. Annie, I believe they serve donuts all day in the cafeteria. If there is anything compact and calorie filled it will be donuts. Prepare yourselves guys...this will be one of the most difficult things we will have ever had to do, if not the most."

Heather was distracted by Sara's splashing long enough for Larry to get a good grip on her. She meeped and giggled as Larry returned the tickling favor. This turn, however, was very much one sided since her could grip her in one hand and tickle her with the other. "Got...you." he droned.

Her invisibility broke as she began to laugh hysterically. It was a hearty and genuine laugh, a type that she hadn't produced in a very long time. The feeling that came from it was amazing, and it filled her with hope.

Larry chuckled and plopped his "big" sister back into the water. "Payback."
