Rikki Tikki Travi Some time later Gidget was laying atop Ako, tracing the contours of his arm and chest muscles. The exam table was big enough for one, but she didn't mind sharing the space with him in the slightest.
The sweat ran off her body, mixing with his. Her breathing was calm and content. At some point the braid Cassandra did for her had become undone. Her long, brown hair draped over the two of them like a blanket.
She closed her eyes and smiled as she listened to his heartbeat. She could feel her heartbeat as well. Everything at this moment was right. It was everything she had ever dreamed of. She drew in a deep breath, and sighed sweetly.
Ako's eyes were focused past the ceiling as he lay with Gidget, one arm wrapped over her, the other supporting his head. He didn't speak, not wanting to change anything about this moment, except maybe their resting place. Even that barely registered as he felt Gidget's heartbeat. Any place would seem like a good resting place with her. He looked down at her and smiled as she sighed, and stroked her long brown hair.
But even the heavenly peace that laying with a woman who loved him, and he loved back, could stop his mind from eventually wandering. He looked back up at the tiles of the ceiling as he remembered the certain danger that lay before them, the mission that could end in their death. Gidget had a good plan on how to beat it, but what if it failed? There was no escape from this battle if they lost. He'd learned over the years that situations like that only had one real option, and now he could take Gidget with him.
"We could run." He said. As soon as he did, he knew what her reaction would be. He knew that he'd probably just ruined what would have been a fantastic memory, but he felt it needed to be said, and he probably wouldn't be alone with her for a while after this. "My bike holds two. We could take off now, and never have to deal with that thing. If the others are smart, they'll do the same thing."
The idea of it was nice to him. He could imagine the scene; he and Gidget, riding off into the sunset, to disappear the same way he'd done thirteen years ago.

Gidget was snapped out of her euphoria violently. Run...like he did thirteen years ago. Part of it sounded great. Just ignore the giant fleshy mass threatening to enslave mankind into it's grand scheme. Wait, no it didn't. That was a terrible idea.
"Ako, you've fulfilled a desire I've had for a good long while now. It was everything I had thought it would be and more. It's more than a girl's crush now. I can honestly say that I don't want to be without you."
"So I'm going to pretend you didn't just suggest ignoring a global threat."

Nova Blancke " I'll try to prioritize myself over the blade."
"So what do ya need my opinion for?" He replied" You're not doubting yourself are you? Because I'm sure you'll lead these guys just fine. Or is it something else?"
"I don't have any doubt in my leadership abilities. I just need a second opinion on the plan I have in mind to divert the attention of the beast we're protecting ourselves from." she held his hand and took him to the security room that is in the back of the lunch room. She would normally go here when she needed to be alone to enjoy her lunch in peace while watching out for suspicious behavior. This time, with Theonis she pushed a few buttons and a 3D map drop down from the ceiling. She pulled down the specs of the beast based on what Gidget was displaying earlier in her presentation so that it is to scale in comparison to the building.
Digital miniatures showed up and she was able to point and moved things into place. When she had them in place she started, "Alright... so here's what I have in mind. First the psy-team will use their power to confront the beast's mind controlling abilities. Then we go in by helicopter where I launch you guys into the entry point.
After I'm assured you guys are in the beast I from up here will use the beast's shadow to keep it occupied while my troops take their places surrounding the beast. They will go in groups each having a defensive meta with a shield. The psychics and my lieutenant in will be up there with me and take over while my shadow golem disperses. I drop through my shadow and emerge along side my captain and he will be here by that time. We keep at it for as long as we can.
At my command when I see the first wave is falling, I send in the second wave hoping to give the first one enough time to recover. There's a third wave, just in case if the second one also gives out.
The healers will be on stand by, ready to heal the previous wave so that they can go back, in the next wave.
We do need to save the world and lives will be lost, there's no denying that. However, if I can bring home as many as I can bring home I'd be brought home I'd feel more confident in the plan. So, any suggestions, weak points you see? "
