Mizuki glanced over out of the corner of her eye as she saw someone sit down on the fountain nearby. She blinked, somewhat surprised as he smiled at her, but then slowly smiled in return, not wanting to be rude. She hesitated and then straightened, turning to face him now. She looked him over once, curiously, noting that his eyes were red. Did that mean he wasn't human? She tilted her head slightly and then offered her hand, more interested than afraid. "I'm Mizuki Nakamura," she said simply, hiding her curiousity well. She didn't want to scare him off by acting all weird and leaping over him or drowning him with questions, which she could very well do.

Shojuto turned to face the girl just after she turned to him. Watching as she offered her hand as greeting, he streteched out his arm as well and shook her hand gently. "Hello, I'm Shojuto Jima." He said, after she'd introduced herself. "Are you new here?" He said, wanting to make conversation but not really knowing where to start.

Brushing a hand through his hair, he smiled again. The wind blew gently, only causing a few strands of his dark hair to fall to his face. He kept his smile, still looking at her through his dark red eyes. Watching the water ripple slightly from the spouts in the fountain, he then dragged a finger through it, waiting for her response.

Mizuki bowed her head slightly, and then nodded. "It's nice to meet you. Um, yeah... I just arrived a few minutes ago, actually." She paused, glancing towards the water as he dragged his finger through it, and then looked back at him again. She rocked back on the heels of her feet for a second, and then slowly decided what to say next. "So, how long have you been here? It this place interesting at all?" She thought those seemed like normal questions a newcomer would ask a current student. She really wanted to ask if he was human or not, but thought that might be a little rude. So she just stood there, after a moment clasping both hands over her stomach as she watched him, her face holding a friendly smile.

Shojuto smiled and nodded as she mentioned arriving just minutes before. "Ya, I'm a fairly new student myself." He said, laughing at himself. Although him and Kietaru had arrived only about a month ago at the longest, it felt like he'd been at Ria forever. "Well, I've only been here about a month. Me and my sister arrived later then expected, our train had broken down."

Thinking to himself for a moment about her other question, Shojuto flicked his hair out of his face again. "Well, it depends what you're involved in with terms to classes and extra cerricular activities. If you're not really involved or anything. And you don't know many people, it can get pretty boring." Which he knew for a fact, having been there for a month and having next to no friends except his sister, had gotten pretty dull. As much as he loved Kietaru, he still wanted a social life that conisisted of more than her.

Mizuki blinked, tilting her head again at the mention of a broken down train. Her overactive mind instantly threw out images of mass carnage, and train cars strewn in every direction, but she quickly pushed them away. Either that hadn't happened, or Shojuto and his sister were invincible. She refocused as he continued answering her next question. "Oh, well... I'm not really good at getting involved in things," she addmited with a small frown.

She turned once more to stare into the water of the fountain already feeling a little homesick. Though, as soon as she realized this, she quickly pushed the thought away. There was no way she could miss that madhouse. She sighed quietly and then glanced back at him, unable to help herself. "I'm sorry if this seems rude... but you're not human, are you?" She looked directly at him now, eagerly awaiting a response.

Shojuto nodded yet again at Mizukis statement. "Ya, I'm not very good at getting involved in school activities either. I have no real talents, so it would be particularly hard for me to choose a club to join seeing as there's really nothing for me." He paused, not wanting to ramble on and bore her to death talking about his social life, or lack there of.

Rather startled by the question, Shojuto shook off the shock and began to speak, his smile remaining on his face. "Well, no. Not really. I'm half demon, and half human." He said, wondering how in the world she could have guessed, then remembering that his eyes were a dark red and there were no signs of him being an albino seeing as he had such dark hair and rather tanned skin.

Realizing he hadn't given her reassurance, he stopped himself in mid thought. "And no, you didn't seem rude at all." He said, remembering how some people reacted to his linieage. His peers making fun of him and Kietaru, or being scared of them. Having people not trust him or his sister.

[Sorry! I went to have dinner. xP]

Mizuki shook her head slightly. "I'm sure you have some talent," she objected. "You just haven't found it yet, it seems. What's something you're really good at?"

She paused again as he answered her next question, falling silent before leaning a little more towards him. Rather than becoming afraid, she simply grew even more interested. She hesistated a moment before sitting down beside him, though not too close, simply because she didn't want to crowd him. "That's really cool," she nodded with a grin. "I'm just a regular, plain old human." That wasn't entirely true, but she decided she didn't want to ramble on about herself.

[That's ok, so did I. xp ]

Shojuto thought for a moment. "Well, I'm alright at karate. The arts of self defence and stuff like that, but other than that. I don't have many other talents. I haven't really heard of a karate club going on around here though. But, even if I did, I don't know if I'd have the courage to join a club. I'm not exactly..social."

Shojuto smiled as Mizuki moved closer to him. "You really think it's cool?" He said, rather happily, no one had ever really said such things of his backround. Most people made fun of him. "To other species, I'm sure pure humans don't seem regular and plain. I think humans are pretty cool."

[Ha, k. ^^;;]

Mizuki was about to suggest that he try starting a karate club if there wasn't already one, but quieted again as he said he wasn't social. "Well, for being someone who isn't social..." she began with a smile. "You're doing a pretty good job of talking to me."

Then she nodded her head. "Yes, I do! I've never met a demon before." She laughed and then tilted her head slightly at his next comment, shrugging her shoulders. "Humans aren't that cool," she admitted, wrinkling her nose slightly. "All they do is mess things up." She paused, and then looked back at him. "Are there many humans here, do you think?" she asked uncertainly.

Shojuto let out a light laugh. "Well, ya. I guess I am." Wondering to himself if he really was making a good impression, he realized that with the right people, he didn't mind talking about personal stuff. When she'd asked if he was human or not, it had seemed like such a minieal question, when in reality, if many other people had asked it, he would have come out with a blunt 'mind your own buisness'.

"You've never met a demon before?" Shojuto said it like it was a shock. Being a demon himself, and having a twin that was as well, was just so regular to him. And it seemed that, to this girl, that it was extraordinary. "Well, humans are weird I think, some of them are so complex, but so are many other species." He said, now wondering to himself why being a full human used to be one of his wishes. "Actually yes, I think a fair amount of the population here is human."

Mizuki smiled as he laughed and nodded her head again. She was glad he'd come over, even if he hadn't meant to. But he'd still smiled at her, which had gotten her to come over and talk. If he'd ignored her completely, she would have done the same to him. In any case, her mental image of demons had been shattered pretty completely, but she was kind of glad of this.

"Nope," she confessed, wondering if that was a strange thing based on his reaction. "Not ever." She paused as he continued and then tilted her head. "I'd say humans are weird. I'd also say I'm extremely weird, and that's the reason I'm here." She smiled and then glanced back at the water. The sudden idea of completely shocking him by turning herself into a fish and swimming away entered her head, but she kept herself from doing it. That might be a little too weird. Instead she glanced back at him. "Really? I guess since the first person I've met, being you, wan't human, I kinda assumed there weren't that many around. I guess that should be comforting, or something." Though, she looked completely at ease and wouldn't have cared if she was the only human around. That would just mean there was more for her to see.

Shojuto smiled at Mizuki, feeling better now about leaving his dorms. At first he'd thought today would have been dull, that there was no point in getting out of the dorms, or his bed. But he'd been pleasently surprised, and he had actually made a friend.

"Wow." He said, rather astonished. He'd met a lot of odd beings in his time, people with weird powers, or weird backrounds. "You're weird eh?" Letting out a quiet laugh, he gazed in her direction. "And what do you mean by that?" He said, still smiling, and feeling at ease. "Ya, there's a lot of different, species, if you wanna call them that, here. Humans, demons, angels, a lot of sifferent beings."

Mizuki nodded. "Yep! I'm very weird," she said with a broad grin. "See?" A second later, she'd sprouted a pair of cat ears, along with a matching tail, both of blonde fur to match her real hair. Her puplis narrowed slightly, becoming more like the slits of a cat's as well. She grinned at him, revealing two fangs. "I'm a shape shifter!" she cried happily. "But I can shift only partway if I want, see? I look like a neko." She laughed to herself, watching him for a reaction.

She paused though, considering the different races she'd read about or heard about.. "Then... I guess the next thing I want to see is an angel..." She froze as a sudden idea entered her head. "Or a vampire!" she added excitedly.

PostPosted: Thu Aug 10, 2006 6:49 pm

Shojuto's eyes widened as he watched Mizuki shape shift into a Neko. He smiled wider when she spoke of how she could shapeshift into anything she wanted. "That's not weird at all, I think it's really cool actually!" Thinking to himself, he remembered that he could transform too. But not into cute creatures like Mizuki could. More like a nightmarish transformation when he got really angry, into a more powerful demon form.

"My friends thought it was weird," Mizuki admitted with a small shrug. She blinked and a second later she was back to normal, ears, tail, fangs, all gone and pupils round once more. "I was very tempted to give you no warning and just transform into a fish because of this water here," she paused to tap the water with two fingers. "But, I thought that might be too sudden. Also, I realized at the last second that if I changed, when I shifted back I wouldn't have any clothes on." She rubbed sheepishly at the back of her head as she laughed at herself.

[...I want to see him transform now. o.o xD;;]
