Courtyard (South)

Yukurin had just started falling asleep against the tree out of bordem when she noticed something silver come from the tree. Entranced by it from a moment she followed it downwards until she saw something black and yellow flexing it's awfully long legs outward. With that she let out a loud screech like any little girl would and got up and ran away.

"SPIIIIIDDDEEERRR!!" she yelled as she ran.

She ran screaming until finally she hit a bench where a young man and woman were sitting or about to sit in the woman's case and seemed to have been introducing themselves. Yukurin had smacked herself straight into the back of the bench with a thud and had fallen instantly onto her butt.

Across her face was a big red line from where the planks used to make the bench had seperated from each other. Slowly she started to cry a little quietly at first, but growing louder with time.  

[Shinygami]

"I guess I just came here so I could fit in..." Kaji said quietly. He pulled out his lighter again and used the flame to burn a transmutation circle into the bench. He clapped his hands together and touched the circle. The bench changed into a more comfortable woven wicker swing. "Go ahead... Have a seat..." He said pushing on the ground with his foot a little to start the slow gentle swing. He leaned back and let the flame continue dancing around his hand like it had before extinguishing. "I never really fit into the outside world... I came here so I could meet those of my kind..." He said as the swing continued its gentle pendulum motion.  

[Alef]

Alef smiled and sat down, leaning back against the swing. Lifting a brow she turned and looked to the girl who had just smacked into the used to be bench. "Um are you alright there?" She didn't want the girl to be hurt while they just sat there chatting. "Yea, I can understand that. I came here to improve my skills mostly... Friends are nice, but...' She gave a small shrug. "...I'm fine on my own." She knew he didn't particularly mean to meet friends like him, just others. Chances are, should he meet someone else, he would become friends with them. So, it all worked out in some way or another.

Yukurin looked up at the woman rubbing her face trying to clear the tears from her cheeks and eyes.

"I.. um.. yes I'm fine!"she said in a high-pitched tone slowly picking herself off from the ground.

"I saw a big spider by the tree over there and it was huge and big and it looked bigger than my fist.."she started out talking quickly, then she looked down, "And I got scared.."

As she ended her story she looked down pouting a little. What was an eight year old suppose to do in a high school? Act tough and grow up?  

[Shinygami]

Kaji looked at the little girl who had busted her face on what used to be a bench. "Come on now... Don't cry young one..." He said gently and stood up to pick her up and set her on her feet again. "Are you alright?" He asked gently with a soft look on his face. "Come on... Do you wanna sit with me and Miss Alef?" He asked gently looking at Alef and asking her. "You don't mind do you?" He asked with a smile that said that he just wanted to make the little girl feel better.  

[Alef]

Alef moved down a bit to make room for her. Giving a soft smile, she spoke calmly. "Not at all. This swing is made for three anyway." She said with a gentle nod. "You know, I really don't like spiders either." It wasn't a simple lie, Alef really wasn't that fond of spiders. Honestly, she could see the same thing happening to her had she seen one. "I would have gotten away from it as fast as possible too."  

[Shinygami]

"Alright... Well come on and sit down..." Kaji said still smiling gently. He sat back down on the bench waiting for the little girl to join them. "If you two hate spiders... Watch this..." He said and made his flame turn into a spider which crawled on his hand then stopped in his palm looking as if it were about to bite. Then immediately he closed his hand making the flame extinguish and leaving a pile of ashes in his hand. He blew the ashes out into the wind and smiled at them. "There's worse to fear when you're here." He said smiling. He then cut his happy act and turned back into his normal relaxed self.

She nodded at the man and looked at both smiling a large grin. Both the man and woman were really nice and slowly she walked onto the swing sitting whereever they decided to make room for her to sit.

"Yup! Spiders are scary.. like it was flexing it's loooonngg legs infront of me and I was just trying to sleep too. It was black and yellow and big!!" she exclaimed describing the spider.

She then watched the large fire spider crawl onto the man's palm. She was amazed when he snuffed it out.

"Wow that was sooo cool!!" she exclaimed.

"My name is Yukurin, I'm sorry for being a big baby and bumping into both of you.."  

[Shinygami]

"Don't worry about it..." Kaji said gently. "I'm Kaji Tori... Fire Bird..." He said giving his name and its meaning. He noticed how much Yukurin seemed to like his little demonstration of how easy spiders are to be rid of. "Spiders are not really to be feared... They fear you more than you fear them... I mean they aren't even a hundredth of our size and with a simple motion you could've cut his web and sent him tumbling to the ground where someone would probably step on him..." He said quietly. "A drop from that height is like falling from Mount Everest to a spider..." He finished.  

[Alef]

Alef shook her head. "Don't worry about it Yukurin. We all have those days." Watching the spider, she nodded her head forward a little and chuckled. "Yes, that was pretty amazing." Titling her head to the side, she thought for a moment. "Black and yellow you say? I think I've seen those before in gardens... Like with tomatoes..." Smiling a bit, she gave a small shrug, enjoying the gentle movements of the swing. "I'm Alef by the way." She added at the end, not sure the girl had caught either of their names.

"Miss Alef and Fire Bird Kaji!" she said with a grin knowing now what to call both of them.

"I'm Yukurin Kameshiro, and I'm 8 years old! The best stage performer you'll ever see!"she said with a grin as she laid her hands infront of her. And using her dreamer powers to suddenly have a flower pop out from between her finger tips. It just appeared there.

"Here you go Miss Alef!"she said giving it to her.  

[Alef]

Alef smiled brightly. "Thank you Yukurin." Lightly, she lifted the flower to her nose, and took in it's sweet scent. "This will definately bring some color to my dorm room." She said gently. "Yes, there are bigger things to fear than spiders, but sometimes the little things get to you..." Giving a nod, she leaned back, just a bit further, fully relaxing into the swing. She had never met anyone who could transmutate things. Having heard of it only, it was a new thing for her.  

[Shinygami]

"I see... Just call me Kaji..." He said simply. "So best stage performer huh? What do you mean? are you talented at dancing and things like that? Or are you an actor?" He asked curiously with a raised eyebrow. "I'm nobody really... Just a boy who came here hoping to be able to fit in and maybe live a peaceful life..." He said simply and started playing with his lighter again. He blew a strand of brown hair out of his face and looked at the flower Yukurin was giving to Alef.

"I can.. um.. dream up things and people see them.."she said trying to explain her powers which she didn't really know how to explain in the first place.

"Like.. let me show you!"she said standing up off of the swing as it swung a bit more.


Standing up she turned around to both and looked at them. She turned the pendant around her necklace she let the two see an etched drawing of a one eyed doll on the back. Holding her hands out infront of her from the silver necklace that hung around her neck and within a few seconds the same doll etched on the pendant appeared in her hands.

"This is Jenni, she helps me focus my powers,"she said explaining the doll's purpose.  

[Alef]

Alef nodded a little, she sort of understood what the girl had meant. Seeing an example would help her though. She was one of those people who had to see something to grasp it fully. "Hmmm... I see." She said, tilting her head to one side. Her voice wasn't mono-tone, or bored sounding, but interested. She was curious to learn about this girls power. Anything that was new to her, was always interesting.
