Courtyard (North)

"Ride on shooting star by the pillows...and just about every type of music, though my personal preference would be rock."
He pulled out a pair of portable speakers, disconnecting his headset and connecting the speakers in place so that they could both listen.

As Lena entered the courtyard, she instantly looked around. Since the war, she had been more on edge. She had been certain he had followed her but she had yet to see any sign of him. Shivering slightly at the thought of him, she refused the memories and buried them deep. She moved into the courtyard, unable to help her hand coming to rest on her sword's hilts.

Esmene smiled and hummed along with the song perfectly. Not once did she get out of tune with it, but after awhile her voice died down, letting the ipod take over. A brief flash of worry came across her face, but she quickly replaced it with that same old smile. Anytime she would sing, or even hum songs that weren't hers, manipulation took place. Such was the curse of her race. The last thing she wanted to do was start screwing with his mind, after all, they had just become friends. She also worried that if he knew what she was, he wouldn't want anything to do with her any more. She couldn't really blame him either, but perhaps if he did find out, he would be more understanding than the rest.

The song ended, and he turned off the ipod, smiling.
"Say, Esmene? Whyd you freak out like that before? is everything ok?"
He looked slightly worried for his new friend.
"Youre not sick or anything, are you?"

Esmene continued to smile, and blushed a bit. "I.. No, I'm not sick." She actually wasn't ill, but she hadn't meant to make him worry. Her smile brightened a little, as if to make him believe her more. "I it's just..." She sighed, and the smile slid from her face. Why not just tell him, if he's really your friend then it won't matter... She thought, deciding lying right off the bat, would not be a good way to start a lasting friendship. "I'm a siren..." She said quietly. "I was afraid that if I kept singing, it would put you under my spell..." She started rambling, but she couldn't help it. "Don't get me wrong! I don't use my powers to manipulate people, men to be more specific! I would never do that, not to just make them fall in love with me and use them or anything..." She trailed off again, hoping he would understand why she was a little leery about all of this. Those who found out in the past stayed away from her like an extremely tropical disease.

"Hey! dont worry about it, You cant help who you are!! I think its really cool that you're a siren Esmene! but just so you know..Ive listened to siren music before. Im immune to it from overexposure. so sing or hum to your hearts extent!"
He gave a fully sincere smile.
"Besides...I thought your voice was beautiful. you did a very good job of matching the tempo of the song."
He clapped a few times happily in applaud

Esmene visibly relaxed at his acceptance of her, and a genuine smile was back on her face. "Oh, thank you Zen!" Esmene couldn't control herself as she threw her arms around him in a gentle hug. She blused a bit, and released him, making sure she wasn't just hanging off of him. "Thank you... It's been awhile since I haven't been looked at with disgust for what I am." She continued to smile. "Er, sorry about that. I'm just really glad that you still want to be my friend. Also, that I can sing and you won't be affected." It truly had been too long, Zen was the first guy friend she had to know of her race. She had mostly only been able to be friends with girls in the past. Though some of them just saw her as ditzy. It wasn't like that once one would get to know her, she just has a lot of energy. "I'd be happy to sing for you again, any requests?"  

[Snow Lea Makatu]

Snow walked passed Zen and Esmene, nodding in a 'hello'. She walked passed the couple and then didnt know where else to go. Where was she off to next?
[Im off to the hotspring now!]

"well...there is one thing.."
HE snatched up his ipod and changed the song a few clicks.
the tune changed.
'With the kids sing out the future
Maybe, kids don't need the masters
Just waiting for the little Busters (oh yeah...)'

Esmene oblidged happily, starting to sing along with the song. Perhaps people here were different, and even more of the male part of the spectre of friends she made could accept her as well. This was a song she hadn't heard in quite awhile, but her gift was most definately her song, making it easy for her to follow along with it. At least with out getting out key anyway. Never before had she had anyone who complimented her voice, or even more so, want her to sing more. Once the song ended, she spoke up. "I like most types of music too." Thinking for a moment, she shrugged. "I've always wanted to sing in a musical or an opera or something, but I don't think that would be such a good idea."

"You could definitely do it. Yah! you can do anything you want!!"
He smiled intensely. With just a hint of a blush.
"Im happy I met you today Esmene. Really happy. Thank you."  

[Alef]

"You really think so?" Esmene asked, her face lit up with a lovely smile. It made her deep blue eyes sparkle. "I'm really glad I met you too Zen!" She was in truth, very happy to have met him. It wasn't often that she came across someone who she could consider a true friend, and she was hoping that she found one in him today. At least now if I don't find her, I won't be alone... She thought, remembering that she had indeed come here in search of her long lost friend.

He smiled.
"I have a present.
You ready for it?
Ive been waiting ot give it to you"
He looked into her deep ble eyes happily. She was definitely a true friend.  

[Alef]

Esmene continued to smile brightly. "A present for me?" She contained her excitement as she gave a light nod. "Of course I'm ready!" She was slightly worried though, seeing as she didn't have anything to give to him in return. She was so exuberant, you either loved her for cheering you up, or hated her for trying to hard. Such was her way though, and if you didn't like her, there was not much to be done about it.

"Ok, here it goes..."
He reached down with one hand, and placed it on the array he had drawn earlier. The array glowed. Suddenly, there were multiple cracks as all of the trees in the northern courtyard shanged, into fully blossomed cherry trees. Even the one they were leaned against changed. The wind blew,and small blossom petals sloated off of the trees into the air.
"There."
