More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Trinity smiled at her decision. "You know, if you want to kick some Deadalus butt from time to time. You could always join the troops of Valhalla. There's one condition though, you'll have to follow orders." Trinity offered but wasn't sure if Annie would accept, especially because of that last part.

"I never said I wasn't going to seek complete revenge on Daedalus, yet," Annie countered, though she was leaning that way thanks to Shane's push. "But, if I do decide to stick around, I think I'm going to pass on being a regular troop of Valhalla. Following orders was never my style, and neither was working as a team. Besides I have too much of a personal grudge against Daedalus to be a reliable soldier. Maybe, I'll go back to school and get my art degree or something if I do decide to stick around, but that isn't the point. What about these fear particles?"

Trinity smirked, "I figured you'd say something like that. Just wanted to open the option to you. About Charles Ray, you think he's a threat? I may pay him a visit when things start cooling off a bit." She fold her arm and stroke her chin with her other hand.

"I'm saying I don't trust him, not that he is necessarily a threat," Annie sighed. "It is probably up to Gidget to decide whether he is a threat or at least an immediate threat or not. She keeps tabs on people like that, right? I've spent most of the past thirteen years locked up in a cell at the main Daedalus headquarters."

She shrugged, managing to sit up, "Look, I'll probably regret this, and I mean really regret this, but I'm willing to be on call for Valhalla's forces if something big comes up and I end up sticking around. I'll help where I can. I just don't want to spend all my days cooped up as security. I'd rather do something like focus on art or statistical research even in sociology or something. I want to make things, I am really tired of using my powers and destroying things. Honestly, if I don't go hunting Daedalus I would rather go back home and try to have a normal life away from meta humans and such but that won't happen, and Christian would hate it back where I grew up. He unfortunately needs a place like Valhalla."

She forced a smile, "But about your offer to join your force, Trinity, you don't really want me around that much. I'm not that likeable of a person, I know that."

Gidget almost didn't notice when they had left. Everything was happening all at once, and her now human mind was having trouble taking it all in. It wasn't until Ako had his arms around her that she snapped out of her daze.

She watched silently while the others helped Theonis. She had to hand it to him. He really pulled through in keeping them alive. She was worried for a moment, but quickly relieved when he awoke from his near death experience.

When Trinity approached and asked about her arm she could barely speak. Gidget finally took the time to look down at her arm and inspect it. It was the arm that had been crushed by Cortez so many years ago. Now the bones were made of an incredibly strong metal. A metal that had saved her arteries and veins from being blown apart like her forearm. Cybernetics replaced muscles and nerves. She wondered who it was that had rebuilt her.

The curiosity didn't last long because she found herself on a medbay bed with a sheet pulled over her. She sat up at the others discussed the fear particles.

"We weren't affected because we were surrounded by Legion. Charles Ray saved us...no, the whole city."

Legion continued to break down into a base ooze on the city streets. Shane used what was left of himself to disperse the genetic knowledge required to create life from matter. Coupling that with Alexavier's dissemination of the minds he split each mind into a section of the ooze.

After the ooze absorbed what was left of the bio beasts, it began to harden. The hardening then took shape into hundreds of chrysalises. Each of them seemed to pulsate, the rhythmic thumping keeping times with the heartbeats of the ones held within. It would take some time, but they would be restored.

At the very center of the mass were a large egg and a comparatively small chrysalis next to it.

Charles Ray removed his mask and took a seat behind his desk. The threat was over for now, but he could feel something else stirring. He couldn't quite tell what, but he had a feeling that the creature was the start of something big.

Annie raised a brow at Gidget's revelation, "Charles Ray saved us? Hell, I guess people do change. Maybe I owe him a thank-you," she laughed. "I suppose that means I really have to turn over a new leaf or something. I can't be outdone by Mr. Ray."

She stood up, holding onto the bed for support, "So what is our next move? I've decided that Christian and I will stick around at Valhalla for a while if that is okay. I need to start earning my keep and Christian is going to be a headache for everyone knowing him. I think he inherited the worst traits possible from both of his parents."

She thought about it for a moment, the men were infected but the spores seem to be treatable and it seemed most of the damage was on Legion. Perhaps Gidget was right, not only did he save the city but he too had a part in saving Theonis' life. If he didn't do what he did Theonis would have ran out of juice causing them to fall and be absorbed by Legion.

Trinity felt her smart phone vibrate. It was a photo of what was currently out there and asking how they should proceed. She quirked an eyebrow, "What the..." She saw a photo of an egg and all these weird things that look like some sort of cocoons for caterpillars. "Can someone explain what this is about?" she showed Gidget the photo.

Gidget was about to respond to Annie when Trinity showed her the photos. She studied them for a bit before it all clicked.

"Those are Shane's parting gifts. Before he...y'know...he said he would bring back the people he had consumed. Those must be them. Oh, he also said they would all be metahuman now. I think we should find a way to bring them in before Daedalus gets their grubby mitts on them."

Trinity nodded and sent instructions to her troop. She basically explained that they are meta humans and will need to be brought in delicately. A method needs to be figured out to do this. In the mean time she ordered them to surround the perimeter and guard the area from Daedalus.

"Until we figure that out my troops will be guarding them."

Theonis yawned more audible this time. He had managed to put it off of him before but the exhaustion was really catching up to him.

" I think....I'm just...going to..." He never finished the sentence as he fell asleep.

Leonard watched them on the camera's. It was a dangerous game he was playing using their own camera's. The man still knew a few back doors in the system. Something a friend of mine told him. That man also provided the program to get to them. Leonard wasn't all that good with computers. He did however ' leak ' some information to the internet saying that it was not Daedelus that contained this beast but a different organization one that works WITH Meta's.

The news feeds of the chrysalises were already flooding in.If those contained what he thought then Daedelus would love to get their hands on them and contain or possibly kill them before they hatched. Despite knowing that they would most likely be under constant guard, at least he assumed they were. It was the most logical thing to do, he would have loved to examine them.

His voice game through the coms." By the time you hear this I will no longer be here. I will keep this brief. Daedelus will not say it but an behalf on everyone at Daedelus I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was our mistakes that led to this event no matter how much Ms. Soulsmith blames herself. Though I am no longer here I left you with a final gift Agatha. The next time you look through your database on information for Daedelus you will find a additional encrypted folder. My son knows the password. This has been an interesting day won't you say? I will get back to work now and hope someone among you hasn't informed Daedelus of my betrayal. The message stopped and Leonard was already long gone.

Liv watched everything unfold on the camera's. Luckily she didn't see Kerana run out into the battlefield or she would have chased her. That kitty wouldn't stand a chance out there. She didn't have to as the beast seemed to be defeated. Liv was glad it was. It could have been the end of everything had that thing not died. But she knew too little of it to worry about it.

"Glad that's over. So..shall we go find those two?"

The egg stood out from the rest as it was an actual fleshy egg instead of a chrysalis. A soft light shone from within and it's heartbeat could be heard from outside. But for now that was all it did. It needed time to mature.

"Thanks Trin. I'm not sure what their condition will be, but Shane seemed pretty confident about being able to make it happen."

She returned her attention to Annie and said, "You guys are welcome to stay here as long as you'd like."

She looked over at Theonis and smiled just as Leonard's message played for them. She was definitely interested in the information he was offering up to her. Maybe it was something she could use against Daedalus, or maybe it was a way to help Annie catch up to the effects of pure meteor radiation.

She was brought out of her thought by the pain in her arm. The adrenaline had finally worn off. She groaned and cradled her mangled limb, somewhat thankful that it was enforced by cybernetics. She looked over at Ako and tried to grin at him.

"Are you okay?" She asked him.

Heather followed her senses to find Larry. Her little brother was very familiar to her nose and tongue. She walked with Kerana until they found the others.

"Lawrence!" She exclaimed brightly.

Larry turned and saw his big sister standing there with her toothy smile. He grinned and shuffled over to her. "Heather. Safe."

She was about to respond but was cut off by his incredibly strong hug. "HURK! I missed you too."

Despite Gidget's technique, Ako had used more electricity than he'd thought. Defending them inside Legion, giving Gidget's suit a charge, as well as bringing Theonis back to life, had taken a lot out of him. The cushion of the hospital bed felt amazing. He felt like just laying there, silent, and letting sleep take him. The others' conversation prevented that, though. When Gidget's voice cut through the other noise, sleep was out of the question. He sat upright, leaning forward to prop his arms on his knees. His head was pounding, but he managed to give her a small smile. "I'm fine." He said. He was tired, hungry and thirsty, but he wasn't doing as bad as Theonis or Gidget.
