More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Heather took the key from Larry and squinted at the small numbers etched into the metal. "115, I think."

"If I stay, it is my job to worry about him, though," Annie said wryly. "I am his mother."

Meanwhile when the attendant arrived to fetch Daisy Sun and Christian Berchant, she picked the kid up and followed to the healing center where they are. Once there Christian excitedly said, "Mommy!"

Annie forced a smile and took Christian from Daisy and asked, "You haven't been a hassle for anyone while I was gone?"

"I'm never a hassle," Christian said, "it isn't my fault people can't handle hearing the truth of how stu-"

"It was fine," Daisy interrupted. "I kind of like him and he did help me out considerable with my work."

Annie raised a brow, but said nothing.

Turning, Daisy continued, "Speaking of which, Gidget, my team has something pieced together against Daedalus ready to go on the air whenever you give the go ahead. I already am hacked into three of the major news companies ready to stream video whenever... if you want I can show you, all of you, what I have first. A lot of it is from my interview with Christian. It has a nice punch."

"Yep over here!" In the back of the room someone waved their hand. " Could use a change of pace right about now." The man rolled back with his chair a bit so that he was in sight of Trinity. The man was in his thirties, wore glasses but what stood out most was the fact that his wore a bright colored Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Not exactly what you would expect on someone in R&D.

" How can I help you?"

Slow but steady Theonis's hair was growing. Some of his black hair being replaced by blond. Before it was only visible up close but now it was obvious from a distance that he had streaks of blond in his hair. He jerked in his sleep and rolled over mumbling something incoherent. From the way he slept so peacefully it was hard to imagine that he had been fighting for his life earlier.

" Whazda? Hmm....purple...apples..." He mumbled softly in his sleep. One could only guess what he was dreaming.

Using her power she turned into an orb of light and sped through the hallways. It didn't take her long with her speed to reach the surface. It felt like forever since she had been outside. Within range of the soldiers she turned back into her usual self. It would also be nice to see those insect like eggs up close but Liv wasn't sure if the soldiers would let her close. Liv walked up to the person that she thought was in charge and saluted. Just for fun.

" First off, amazing job you've all done today. Not sure if anyone said that before." Liv said cheerfully." Now you all must be tired from that enormous battle and I see a few of you are still out cold. You um...." She shifted her weight a little." Need some help taking them back? I can almost teleport so I am sure I can be useful. If not that, a bit of moral boosting by having me tend to them wouldn't be so bad for them right?"

" How can I help you?"

Trinity quirked an eyebrow, she wasn't expecting someone like him to be in the R&D department but regardless he was willing to hear her out. She approached him and showed him the photo that was on her phone.

As she was approaching she explained, "Legion was a biomass monster that was composed of victims it absorbed. Gidget, a few metas, my troops and I destroyed the creature. Now there is a total mess. But not what you'd expect." She showed him the picture then explained further,"These are the victims turned meta they are in this condition and we need to bring them in and take care of them so that they can fully develop. Currently they are being garded by my troops right now. Any ideas?"

Gidget winced as the last of the flesh on her arm was mended. It had left a fairly nasty scar in it's place, and it still ached. She flexed her wrist a few times before thanking the healer and dismissing him. She turned her attention to Daisy and thought on it for a moment before giving her answer.

"Do it. We need to get this out before Daedalus get their spin out."

She looked over at Annie and Christian, a look of stern determination across her haggard features. "They wont escape the truth this time."

The man nodded a couple of times and rubbed his chin.

" Hmmm yeah...umm...I don't think we should move em ya know? Right now they seem like uh..pretty stable. We don't know what's inside at the moment. Maybe whatever is inside is ya know..fragile and would break when it's being moved? Yeah, they uh..exterior...has anyone checked if that is even hard enough for transportation? If that is too soft that that won't work either ya know?" The man scratched the back of his head. " Maybe they won't even budge if they got tendrils in the ground that keep em in place."

Daisy nodded, pulling out her cellphone she typed a few words and numbers and sent a text, "Done. It'll be taken care of. Within five minutes tops we should have the first of the reports out against Daedalus. If there is anything else you want me to report on I'm willing to go. I actually prefer to be on the scene of action."

She shrugged and smiled at Annie, "Thank-you for letting your son do the interview. It was a great help."

Annie shrugged, "He wanted to do it: I'm not the type to forbid him from doing something like that." She turned her attention to Gidget, "Some people might not still believe the truth no matter how much you force feed it to them. People tend to have faith in our government. And, of course, there is the fact that some metas do have dangerous powers and aren't exactly peace loving. The public will want someone to deal with them, and Daedalus does do that, even if they are evil."

Trinity heard his explanation and sent a hi-priority (hi-pri) e-mail to one of the generals on the ground asking him to scan one of things and send her the schematics. "I'm afraid that might not be a good idea. We would like to get them in Valhalla protected from Daedalus, before they have a chance to figure it out."

She her smart phone buzzed with the schematics and x-rays. Which it would make it clear to one with enough knowledge of what they are looking at that they are chrysalis. They also sent the schematics of the egg that was in the center of it all indicating that it had a heartbeat.

"Here, would this help any?" she showed him her phone again.

"Yes...yes it would."

The man quickly uploaded it to his own computer and went over the various scans. He put on a special glove and begun operating the PC with it. One of the benefits of being R&D. Cool gadgets. Switching between scans he frowned. The egg really was different. Density, shape, meta readings. Everything! In fact those were off the charts. Not just a little either. He wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing. The man moved on to the more..normal ones.

"Hmmm I suppose you should move them now before they start to develop faster. Right now there isn't really ya know...stuff in there. It's just some goo that will slowly reconstruct the person inside. The carapace should be hard enough for transportation. But I am not sure bout the egg. That definitely contains life. And a much more developed form as well. That thing already has a strong meta signature and it hasn't even been born yet. For all I know that thing is bathing in pure liquefied meteor radiation. Not that something like that should be possible. So you should really ya know...keep constant guards on that thing. Maybe even leave it out there. No idea what happens if it hatches inside."

"About the big one... I'm not sure if I want that to hatch unless we are able to face it. Should we consider cryogenic stasis for it? I'd prefer talking to Gidget further before it's too late. I don't want to have the troops face another Legion after all of this..."

Trinity sends texted an order to one of the Generals to start collecting chrysalises and bring them in.

Liv walked up to the person that she thought was in charge and saluted. Just for fun.

The red headed general smiled at the beautiful woman's generosity. "I appreciate your consideration but Trinity Smith, has already sent all the injured to the med bay. I'm pretty sure they would much like a visit." The phone vibrated and he saw the order. "Or... if you like to assist we need to bring in all these chrysalises in before Daedalus gets their hands on them. As in turns out there are metas inside."

"I don't think it was capable of reproducing itself like that. Perhaps it's just a really big meta that he ate? I'd be more worried about the egg. But hey that's just me. If you are that worried about the big one....burn it. See what happens. Poke it with a long stick ya know." The man said with a bit of a joke. But turned serious soon after. " I want to examine that egg. It...worries me. Everything is a chrysalis spawned from Legion but this one came first when Legion had just begun to melt. Almost right away. The rest came after. I'd like to do some proper tests on it in the field. Don't want to risk it in here."


Ewl...insect-like eggs. And I thought lizards were bad...But meta's are inside of those? Gross. I'd hate to be the one to come out of those.

"Yeah it's best if Daedelus doesn't get their hands on those..." She said and looked at the chrysalises while rubbing her arm." You sure they are meta's and not like...insects that could suddenly pop out?" Liv asked to assure herself that they wouldn't.

She sent a text to logistics and listened as as he spoke his mind. "Can't agree with you more. I'll send the order.". She started preparing another text. "You got a name?"

Ewl...insect-like eggs. And I thought lizards were bad...But meta's are inside of those? Gross. I'd hate to be the one to come out of those.

"Yeah it's best if Daedelus doesn't get their hands on those..." She said and looked at the chrysalises while rubbing her arm." You sure they are meta's and not like...insects that could suddenly pop out?" Liv asked to assure herself that they wouldn't.

"Well this is what we were told. I tend to not delve much further and follow orders." a truck normally used to send in the guns and weapons were sent empty. It was filled with slots and compartments that seemed big enough to hold the chrysalises.

"Looks like she asked logistics for a truck. That would make things easier."

"David Ma' am. David Trenor." The man said before returning to the scans of the egg. They were troubling. Maybe it would be best to burn it before it hatches. Best not take any chances if it does turn out to be hostile. Getting up, he began to gather a few tools he would need for a better inspection.

"Well, that would make things easier. I'd hate to have to carry them all the way back. I'm not the strongest girl on the block" Liv admitted solely because it was true. She wasn't physically enhanced like some Meta's. People might say her looks were but that was all her not some Meta power.

"So were do we start capt'n?"

Trinity sent the order to the general and forward that to logistics. "Thank you David. My troops will bring the egg here and ask for you.

Please keep me up to date with your research so that Gidget and I can make a decision in regards to this." with that he handed David a card with her info on it. With that all settled she heads out of the R&D department, "If I don't hear from you I'll follow up."

"Well, that would make things easier. I'd hate to have to carry them all the way back. I'm not the strongest girl on the block" Liv admitted solely because it was true. She wasn't physically enhanced like some Meta's. People might say her looks were but that was all her not some Meta power.

"So where do we start capt'n?"

Before the troops start loading up the trucke the slots unfolded revealing an area where a heavy weapons would be, like a gatling gun or a plasma cannon there was a ramp leading toward it. It was more than enough room for the egg to be placed.

"Looks like we're taking care of the egg first."
