More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Nova Blancke

As Theonis flew he spotted the giant monster.He raised his sword and struck out. A flash of light streaked towards the beast hitting it in the side. It stumbled back and turned to face Theonis. It roared loudly. The force of the roar knocked him back. He heard a soft whisper and the dream cracked with light as his eyes slowly opened.

"Whaza? Ah....okay" Theonis said softly, yawning.

Trinity smiled as he woke she looked into his golden irises surrounded in darkness. "Hey there handsome. How are your eyes?"

Theonis sight slowly adjusted to show Trinity's shape. Theonis heard her voice more clearly as realitiy slowly came back to him. However his sight was still a bit blurry Though not as bad as before.

"They've been better,,,: Theonis muttered while slowly waking up.

"You hungry? I haven't seen you eat much so I brought you some soup and a couple of cookies." She pulled out the soup she got him and the cookies. She looked to him awaiting his response.

"Thanks." Theonis replied as he slowly left his sleepy haze. Maybe it was just because he was waking up but he wasn't particular hungry but might as well eat. He reached out and took the soup. Making sure he wouldn't burn his tongue she blew each spoonful of soup.

"Man I had the strangest dream about fighting some huge a** monster.....in Japan."

Annie glanced over at Theonis and Trinity and heard Theonis explain his dream and muttered as she ate her third steak, "And that is why I only date older men- they are less likely to have dreams about fighting Godzilla or whatever."

Christian narrowed his gaze at his mother who he could tell was being spiteful out of her trying to hide any real emotion that she saw as weakness. He sighed and walked over to where she was and sat down on the floor at her feet.

Meanwhile Daisy said to the general group, "So, beside the obvious problems and difficulties, how is everyone holding up? If you wish I can leave. I don't exactly belong here since all I am is a reporter."

Right, he had almost forgotten about Annie's pleasant personality. Theonis really wanted to snap at her, say something along the lines of the last time she actually dated. But he didn't. He wasn't sure what he should feel about Annie. She just lost the guy she loved and yet she didn't show it. Why? What did it matter to him anyway?

"Well we did just battle Godzilla or whatever. I think that gives me the right to dream that no?" Theonis replied while eating his soup.

Annie narrowed her eyes in distaste at him and snapped, "Maybe you forgot but that 'Godzilla' was Gidget's big brother and the man I-" She took a deep breath and shook her head, "Look it doesn't matter. You're right, the whole situation was a mess. And you're free to dream whatever you want: ignore me, I'm just being my typical self."

Christian glanced up and sighed but decided not to say anything: he knew better at least, but then again he could sense emotions and see through Annie's mask.

The moment she heard that she narrowed her eyes and glared at the woman. How dare you say such a thing! After all he did for you to keep you and the others alive! How dare you belittle him so!. She really want to take Annie's shadow, shift it into a long spike to thrust through her back and pierce through her sternum. Though she wanted to, she was disciplined enough to act on such a thought.

At least she backed off before it escalated further she would have a few words of her own to shove back in her face. Yet anything right now would only prove unnecessary.

"Your typical self needs work." Theonis replied softly but let it rest after that. Why the hell did Annie continue to act like that? Even if he would ask she wouldn't talk to a 'kid' like him anyway. He wasn't going to get in a fight with her right now. Not now with Gidget's getting what might be her first sleep in years.
Perhaps it was a good thing since Trinity looked like she could kill. Maybe now was as good as a time as ever.

"Say is there a mirror around here? You um..mentioned my eyes were different? I'd like to see how much changed."

Annie rolled her eyes at Theonis's retort and spotted a hand mirror probably left by one of the nurses close by. Setting her food down she got up and grabbed the mirror and handed it to him. "There," she said curtly, before returning to her seat. She glanced down at her food, picked it up, and began to dig in again: she really was hungry. Christian was right: she did need to eat.

He really had no idea what to think of Annie. One moment she snaps and the other she acts like it was nothing of importance.

"Thanks" He said as he accepted the mirror.

When he glanced down his own eyes spooked him. Seriously this looked downright demonic. He held it a bit closer to his face so he could take a really good look at it. There wasn't any sign of white in his eyes left. As if everything was replaced with black. Pure pitch black. It really brought out the gold in his irises. When he tilted the mirror slightly he noticed his hair.

"Oh come on...." Theonis said in disbelief and put down the mirror. Grabbing his hair at the side end he brought it in front of him. It was the same black he always had but this time there was a lot more blond in it. Almost golden blond. On top of that it was a lot longer than it was before. Really noticeable too. It was actually past his shoulders now. He let out a sigh hoping that this was the last time he changed.

"Well I guess I should be glad it comes as a set.of black and gold. This ever happened before?" He asked Trinity.

Meanwhile Liv was on her way to Amanda. That girl needs someone right now. Suddenly becoming a Meta could be overwhelming. Hell she and pretty much every other Meta around knew that. It didn't take her long to find Amanda's apartment. She rang the door.

"Aman? You in there honey? Are you okay?"

"Well I guess I should be glad it comes as a set.of black and gold. This ever happened before?" He asked Trinity.

"Changes like yours seem uncommon.

Yet to have things come out as a set I kind of see that happening among more of the elemental powers. Those that can control plant may range from ending up with clorophyll in their blood causing their skin to be green, green eyes or hair tend to be common. Pyro metas tend to have red hair, gold hair or a mix of the two with way that tend to be warm colors, orange, gold, red and a reddish brown hue, skin color tends to become more tan because of it. Similar things go for aquatic and ice metas but with cool colors and in some cases cool colored lips.

Yet this doesnt happen to everyone" She rubbed her head a little, "Well that's what first comes to mind anyways. I'm sure there are others."

"You'd think it serves some sort of purpose but not from what I can tell. Hell my sight isn't as clear as it was before but it's getting better." Theonis shrugged. "Well nothing I can do about that now"

"You must be referring to Matron. She was a very old meta that the safehouse was built around a really long time ago. The little tree outside was all that was left after a crazy wolf lady burned her from the inside. Everyone seems to agree that the sapling is her baby. It's going to take a long time to reach the size Matron was though."

Heather then became silent and pensive as she recalled the first time she saw the tree and heard it's story. It had made her feel like she was experiencing some sort of fairy tale. It was so unbelievable. Then again she was a girl with scales. Back then it was only scales.

Heather hugged herself uncomfortably at the memory of the yearly changes that took place since her contact with the meteor. For Lawrence the changes had been instant and violent. For Heather they had come annually with the shedding of her skin. Always something new, something that stripped away more of her human self.

She began to tremble, because the shedding would happen sometime in the next week. She tried to control herself, but found it nearly impossible.
