 Jim glanced over upon seeing Mary Anne step up to the railing next to them. They took in the leather outfit she was wearing, their gaze instantly captured by the bright red silk cloth of the shirt under the corset she wore.
"How the hell did you get involved with them?" asked Jim, throwing a glance over their shoulder at the rest of the Queen Anne's Revenge crew that went about their duties behind them before looking back at Mary Anne.
Mary Anne gave a faint smirk as she leaned on the railing. "It's a long story," she replied softly.
"Well, it sounds like we're going to have a long trip to wherever the hell Blackbeard is taking us. Not like I have anywhere else to be."
Mary Anne let out a chuckle as she looked over at Jim. "You really are quite something, you know that."
"Thanks?" replied Jim, shifting uncomfortably at the compliment.
"Well, let me give you a little synopsis of what went down," said Mary Anne, straightening up and turning towards Jim. "If you are still interested in learning more details, then I will happily oblige. Long story short? Blackbeard raided my Uncle's ship and my life was spared. I learned the ways of being a pirate and eventually earned the right of being a captain of my own ship. Alliances were made and I became a name feared upon the seven seas on the same level as Blackbeard himself. Savvy?"
Jim's eyes widened in shock before a smile of respect appeared on their face. "You're more than just a pretty face then?"
"You think I'm pretty?" asked Mary Anne, her eyes twinkling mischievously as she leaned in close.
Jim blushed as they looked down in embarrassment. |
