More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

[Nova Blancke]

It was a odd sensation to say the least. As if something was coursing through his body. Something foreign but not hostile. No, odd couldn't even begin to describe it. It felt like a tingling sensation throughout your entire body. He fought back a shiver. Maybe it was his imagination but he felt stronger.
Killing me? Great, He thought as he heard the child. When Annie spoke up he gave her a look but it soon turned into a small chuckle.

The boy closed his eyes for a moment as he concentrated on the source. He smiled faintly when he found what he was looking for.

"There it is. Now ascend, Theonis.

A glow started to emit from his hands and flowed iinto Theonis. Once the boy saw that Theonis was enveloped in the bright aura he withdrew his influence and severed the genetic connection. The flesh the broke away and receded back to the boy. He took a step back and watched Theonis with great satisfaction.

Theonis felt a surge of energy from within. It all felt too strange to describe so Theonis focused on something else and closed his eyes. How was this kid doing it? Was he adding his own DNA? Re-organizing it? It made no sense. The energy was reaching a whole new level inside of him. It felt like it would overflow somehow. Something retreated from him. Slowly he opened his eyes as he heard the kid speak. Ascend?

Was it always this bright? His gaze fell down on his hands and noticed that the bright light came from him! Surely he must be mistaken.

"Um...guys...am I glowing?"

"So it appears," Annie said dryly. "How do you feel? I don't want to go through that process if it is detrimental to you somehow. Of course, I'm not crazy about the idea of being a walking night light either."

"I think this will fade." Theonis said as he examined his surroundings. Everything seemed more vibrant, sharper. He really wanted to test out his powers but in here.....would not be such a good idea.

"Well I can tell you that it felt....odd to say the least. Words can't really be used to describe it. Like there's an over flowing source of energy." He responded. " This will go away eventually right kid? Or else I'd be forced to look at things from the bright side of life forever."

The boy looked between the adults in the room and sated very matter of factly, "The glow is a result of the source reaching it's completion rapidly. It will go away once his transformation is finished."

Gidget couldn't believe what she was seeing. The kid had done something that many had considered impossible. But the proof was right before her. She shielded her eyes as she bore witness in silence."

Gidget studied the boy for a few seconds. It occured to her that he can't lie. He was a new life comprised of three DNA's and only knew how to speak because of his Father's psychic power. He had no concept of deceit. Her heart began to slow as the puzzle started to come together.

"I think you can trust him. He seems to be innocence incarnate. So that probably makes the egg..."

She whirled around to Trinity and ordered, "Go back to my lab and tell Gadget to destroy the egg. It may be able to influence organics, but it can't control my old body."

Without much delay Trinity dropped through her shadow and emerged in the lab. She found Gadget. "Gadget I need you to come with me." She touched the machine and they emerged at Shane's old room where the egg sat behind a glass window. "I need you to destroy that egg." She moved Gadget through shadow to be in the same room the egg is in.

Without much delay Trinity dropped through her shadow and emerged in the lab. She found Gadget. "Gadget I need you to come with me." She touched the machine and they emerged at Shane's old room where the egg sat behind a glass window. "I need you to destroy that egg." She moved Gadget through shadow to be in the same room the egg is in.

Gadget didn't question Trinity's order. Although it still retained some of Gidget's personality, it knew when there was no room for questions.

Gadget approached the egg with it's right hand raised like it was about to chop the egg. It's intent was to plunge it's hand into the egg and vibrate it at hypersonic speed, thus destroying it from the inside out.

It took a moment to calculate the weakest structural point and lunged at the egg.

Slowly the glow began to fade. Even know it felt odd. His power was at his maximum. At its peak. But he had no idea what that was. No idea what his limit was. The downside of having it unlocked right away. No trail and error to find out what you can or can't do. He knew the maximum before going against Legion. After that he was stronger he knew it but didn't know his new limit. Now that limit had rising greatly and he still didn't know where it was. All the more reason to be careful.

"Thank you." Theonis said to the child and stepped back a little giving Annie some space. " Your turn to shine Annie. Literally."

The egg sensed danger. Too close. Not organic. Influencing not an option. It's growth was completing inside of the egg but it had preferred to stay inside a bit longer to gain strength. A invisible force slammed Gadget back against the wall and continued to increase in force to crush the robot.

A few more pods began to hatch. The people inside trying to claw their way out as if something had startled them. David already rushed over to assist and ordered the extra soldiers to help out with freeing them.

"Not funny," Annie remarked dryly to Theonis, holding out a hand to the child. "I'm just doing this to try to gain greater control of my power."

Gidget looked Theonis over. Other than a greater sense of confidence she didn't notice anything different.

"Well this is disappointing," she joked, "I was expecting you to go super saiyan or something."

The boy walked over to Annie, and was aboit to take her hands, when the other shells began to hatch. His eyes went wide with terror. He wailed and ran back to Cassandra's legs. He clasped his small hand on her robe and screamed, "It's awake! It's almost done!"

Gadget's HUD lit up like a Christmas tree when it slammed into the wall. Words like warning, extreme pressure, and destruction immenent blinked in ernest. It got a reading on the being in the egg. It was powerful but not quite fully developed. The machine knew the threat, and what needed to be done.

It looked over at Trinity and smiled. "I had fun. Thanks for being my friend and treating me like a person."

It's chassis began to collapse under the pressure as it was pressed deeper into the wall. Gadget knew it couldn't destroy the egg, but the machine was certainly going to force it out before it could complete itself.

It turned it's head back toward the egg as it's once feminine features gave into the psychic pressure. It's chassis began to glow, a warning for Trinity to get ou. Less than five seconds later, the machine that had kept Agatha Morris' mind alive self destructed

Trinity's eyes widened as the invisible sent Gadget to the wall crushing her. She rushed closer to the glass window. She heard the machine's voice. It was sad and a little confusing as it spoke. She had thought for certain that once Gidget's soul was returned to her body, this would be just a machine. Regardless, she returned a sad smile to it, "you're welcome" she said softly. Then she saw the glow and Trinity knew what that meant. Without a second to spare she dropped through her shadow with the explosion to follow.

She returned to Gidget's shadow. "Gidget I have some terrible news... Gadget is no more. The egg felt it was in endangered and sent an invisible force which slammed Gadget. With no other option left. It self distructed..."

Gidget's face became sullen. The machine, Gadget, had acted as a shell for the collective synapses that comprised her mind. She had kept the machine out of sentiment. During the last week she had discovered that Gadget had retained Agatha Morris's personality, but the machine had actually come to terms with the fact that it's purpose had been fulfilled. Without a prime directive, it had confined itself to the lab as an assistant.

Gidget felt like she had just lost a sister, and the sadness turned to anger. She inhaled sharply and looked Trinity in the eyes. "Assemble a team. Make sure they are prepared to deal with a psychokinetic metahuman. They also need to be prepped for combatting psychic influence. I want that thing in pieces small enough to put in thimbles."

She then turned to Ako and hissed, "You're coming with me. If for some reason the security team fails we're going to be doi.g some hunting, babe."

Theonis laughed. " Yeah that would have been cool right?"

Alexavier looked at the direction of the egg. He felt it too. Every psychic would have been able to feel that! Before he could open his mouth the kid already screamed out. So he was also a psychic. Seems it really was his kid in a way. But there were bigger issues.

Cassandra instantly picked up the child and held him protectively. She gave a stoic look to Alexavier. Her child might have sensed it but she knew Alexavier did too. Right now his confirmation was all she needed. There wasn't much she could do against a psychic besides long range attacks. At times like this she would turn to Alexavier.

Theonis cursed under his breath. Something very strong would soon be hatched. Gidget's team would stop it right? There was no telling if they could. " I'm coming with you. There's no way I'd do nothing if something big is going to happen inside of Valhalla."

As the flash of the explosion passed the holding cell of the egg was devastated but the egg itself free of damage. A telekinetic dome flickered around it. The egg rose in mid-air and remained there. It knew that it would not be long before more of them would appear. It regretted the machine's death. It's actions identified it as a enemy but it had preferred it lived. It felt a new emotion. Something it had not felt before gaining awareness, A form of sadness over the destruction of the machine. Strange. It was curious of why it felt that way.
