I'm not sure what to do for the rest of my shift. *sighs* At least I don't have a resident staring me down or constantly bugging me for a cigarette.

I went and saw my friend perform last night in a Complete Shakespeare Works (Abridged) performance. It was so good! If the rest of July wasn't so busy with other stuff, I would totally consider going to see it again - since it's free to attend.

But alas I have so much going on. And I definitely can tell I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by it. I mean it's not constant back-to-back stuff... but I definitely had stuff going on every week. So when some asks "Hey, would you be able to do this?," I have to look at my calendar and be like "Do I even have that day available?"

I saw someone ask in the Gaia Community Discussion, if people would ever "eventually leave Gaia for good."

Probably the only time I'll leave is if either Gaia suddenly makes it a paid membership to have an account ((I doubt it'll happen... but you never know these days)) or Gaia just shuts down all together. I don't really have any emotional attachment to this place anymore... and most of the friends I've made, I made connections with on other social media, so I wouldn't be losing that aspect. sweatdrop

Well... I'm not going to be able to work on putting together my Fourth of July playlist now since one of the residents has decided to play music and it's drowning my stuff out. It's not so loud that it's an issue and I have to go ask them to turn it down... but it is annoying since I was wanting to work on my playlist to have it for this week. Oh well.

Plus I don't exactly want to go and use an "authoriative figure role" towards them right now because they're already in a mood of being angry about staff telling them what to do yesterday. They keep acting like their a victim and we're just a bunch of bullies... but their bringing it on to themselves with their constant disobedience of the rules. Definitely makes me annoyed when I see their FB posts and they're going all "Boohoo, woe is me. They so mean!" and everyone (especially past employees) are all sympathetic towards them... and I'm just like "Y'all are judging the whole thing from one perspective."

I had a short-lived debate with a resident earlier on the correct direction a flag is supposed to be presented. She had it set in her mind that the backwards American flag (as seen on military uniform patches) was the correct way to display all American flags. So, she thought the craft flag our Activities Director made was wrong and an insult to true Americans.

Eventually I just had to tell her she was welcome to her opinions, but I can't change how someone else wanted to display their flag. sweatdrop

Residents seem to be a bit more feisty than usual lately.

Ugh... why does this have to happen now? *sighs* A resident's husband has decided to come back around the building again despite being told multiple times he is not allowed on the premises. He states he's going to call the police as a result. Go ahead, dude. It's not going to work in your favor.

Well, if he does call the police, they better come quickly because I was planning on taking my lunch break in a half hour.

*looks around from the front doors* Well, I don't see him anywhere. So, hopefully he's gone away and hasn't gone to hide off somewhere.
