Ai turned around, knowing she heard a voice from behind. It was from some fellow. Who needed help. Why was he asking her? No one asked Ai for help, well, not like she can remember if anyone asked her for help.

"Eh? Oh! You're talking to me?!" she exclaimed, though, no one was really in the courtyard, everyone tries to avoid the courtyard because it takes soo long to go to classes when you walk through here. Thats why Ai likes places that are abandoned, she hates large crouds. But when its summer, the Courtyard is filled. Its kind of strange, but Ai finds alot of things strange.

"Well... Uh... Nice to meet you Lukan! My name is Sakura Ai, but many people call me Ai for short!" she said with a large cocky smile on her face, it wasn't really her style with cocky smiles, but what the heck! Changes can be good, though, her appearance never really changes.

"Oh! You're hungry? You mean you never got a map of Ria!" she said kind of surprised.

What is with the school systems these days.. she thought.

"Well, I guess you can follow me to the Cafeteria. I don't really eat but I guess I could use a snack." she said rubbing the back of her head. The real reason why she doesn't eat is that angels don't really need food, yes that can eat, but they don't need it. But they do need soft drinks and stuff.

((You can post in the Cafeteria and pretend my character lead you there. I'll post after that. XP ))

After wandering aimlessly for what seemed like countless hours, he and Lena managed to find there way into the northern side of the courtyard.

It's appearance didn't seem that different from the southern one. People just lying around, going about there business, not seeming to care much about the world. It was like everyone was just happy to be where they were, or were they? It didn't seem anyone could tell.

Nonetheless, Taern and Lena were now here and that's what mattered. Now they just had to find something to occupy themselves with.

Lena rubbed her temples. The whole place was a death wish. SHe didn't know how much more she could stand it. She needed something entertaining. She leaned against a tree and scowled. "This place is like my worst nightmare. Nothing to do, no intelligence whatsoever, and hardly any fighting that you can kill someone." She shook her head. "This is a death sentence."

"I'm pretty sure there are worse things. And intelligence....is a point of view."

Taren had shocked himself even though it id not show. He didn't know where these words came from or why he had said then but somehow, he felt like they were the right thing to say. He suppressed the thought quickly and would come back to it later.

"If you'd like, we could just sit and talk. I'm up for anything right now."

Lena blinked and then nodded. "I suppose you're right. Intelligence is pretty much a point of view. She settled on the ground against a tree and stared up at Taern. "And talking might help you recover your memories so why not?"

He took a seat next to Lena, getting enough room to lean on the trunk of the tree without making anyone feel uncomfortable. He relaxed a bit more by taking off his vest and guns, and laying them beside himself in a pile. He took a deep breath, yawned, and stretched out pretty far, some of his joints, popping and clicking. He then settled himself and began to talk quite softly and casually, almost as if he was just thinking out loud.

"So where did you come from? I mean, it's obvious everyone here came from some sort of place."

Of course, that was a logical statement but everywhere Taern turned, it did not seem like these people came form places that society would think were normal. He didn't know how he got this opinion. He thought it might have to do something with his memories. He tried to shake the thought off and waited for Lena's reply.

Lena shrugged. "I come from a land called Miridia. We have smaller countires and such but I mainly stay away from everyone. I'm part of a clan called Shadow Blades. I'm the heir. I'll take over when my supposed mother dies, if she's ever killed." Lena's voice turned sarcastic at that. She chuckled softly. "We're just a group of assassins and bandits really. We have a strict order though. No one outside of our clan is allowed to know our secrets. We've killed other Shadow Blades when they have done so. It's merciless. The only reason I'm here is because the Elders decided that I needed to have training in Polotical stuff."

Taern remained silent after Lena had spoke, contemplating exactly what kind of society she was born into. In his mind he pictures of people using somewhat primitive weaponry and focusing on survival of the fittest matched his thoughts. He thought it was best not to ask anymore about it, but then his mind went blank, leaving him nothing to say or ask. AN awkward silence grew, but Taern just remained silent and still.

Lena eyed Taern calmly. SHe wasn't much feeling awkard with the silence. She was used to these uncomfortable ones. SHe'd dealt with them enough at home. "What about you? Tell me what you do know? Something might come up that you didn't connect before."

He went through his head on what exactly to say, and then began to speak.

"I reviewed a video file back at the dorm. It was stored in my memory. From what it said, I can conclude that I was built, unlike you or any others here that may have been born. Currently, I appear to be around 17 years of age. My current age is unknown. What I was built for and why I do not know. I have the outer appearance of any normal person belonging to the humanoid body type, but inside of me, living tissue is combined with mechanical objects that enhance my natural performance. It really doesn't make much sense to me but apparently, I have to survive for some purpose I haven't found yet."

Taern stopped speaking at glanced at Lena for a moment. She seemed to be calm but he couldn't tell what was going on in her head: in fact, he didn't even know what he was saying.

After composing and collecting himself, Taern figured that returning to his normal state was best. He thought more clearly, had more sense, and had a better chance of survival if he stopped asking questions about himself, and just found the answers.

Lena nodded calmly. I see. So you are part metal inside. Or...whats the word....you're a....computer!" Lena smirked and shook her head slightly. THen she continued to think. "I can understand then that you were built. That's how your able to heal. Maybe there is an answer for me there. Anyways, you know of no purpose except possibly combat because otherwise they would have given you the ability to heal fast. YOu're a war machine."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 01, 2006 2:53 pm
"I don't know if computer is the right word but I don't care too much about it right now. And as far as the healing goes, I have no idea why that happened."

The words "war machine" struck him as somewhat of an insult. He couldn't imagine himself just waltzing onto a battlefield, gun in hand, mowing down everything in path because someone told him to. He thought of himself as an individual but did not express that individuality at all, especially when his logical side made it clear that it wasn't necessary.

"Combat is not my purpose either. It's just something I excel at. Survival is my purpose."

Lena shook her head. "I did not mean it that way. What I meant when I said war machine is the fact throughout any type of war or battle you go through, you will survive. You are made to live. THe part on the combat that you excel is the fact so that you can protect yourself to an extent. If you didn't have it, then it's very possible that there is a way to kill you somehow." Lena's eyes had gone distant as she tried to sort it out.

"Well, I guess that helps."

Taern scratched his head through his long black hair, and began to process everything that had just been said. He was still puzzled over his own existence, but was even more dumbfounded by Lena's. It became apparent to Taern that his stay at this place would not be a short one and in order to survive, he had to adapt to his new surroundings. He had to learn the ins and outs of Ria High or else, he really had no reason to be there.

Lena closed her eyes breifly. SOmething. Maybe... she wasn't sure yet. An image suddenly flashed through her head and she flinched shaken beyond a doubt. Whatever it had been was definitely something that unsettled her beyond anything that had ever done so before. She took a deep breath. She had seen men and yet the place had seemed to be in an enclosed space and dark with strange things around her.
