More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

The doctor's quickly assessed Heather while things cooled down. Her primary doctor sighed with relief after making a positive prognosis.

"Alright kids. The young lady needs her rest. Please return to the waiting area. I'll let you know when she wakes up."

Larry nodded and lay a finger on his sister's cheek. Her new scales felt funny, and the horns coming from her head were strange, but she was still his big sister.

He lumbered out of the room toward the waiting area, feeling as though he had just taken a breath of fresh air after being under water for too long. He sighed and took a careful seat on the floor since there wasn't a chair that could fit him. "That was close. Her shedding has never been so violent before. I wonder what happened."

"No," Annie said with a small smile, "I am a walking weapon. Hell, I'm practically indestructible and now that I don't have limits..." She shrugged, "The catsuit is enough for me. Unless one of those psychic blocking helmets can shift with my powers like the bodysuit, I'm good. I don't want to have to constantly force myself not to go liquid if confronted with physical danger. Besides, we have Alexavier to help protect us on that front."

Christian sighed and offered, "That's what Mom ate years ago to enhance her powers. She couldn't turn into a liquid form or be immune to acid until she ate that stuff. Her body can't keep up when she uses her power too much though... I guess that kid Damian can solve that problem though. I wouldn't have thought that stuff was laying around here though..."

Larry sighed with disappointment. "I don't think it was just laying around. Heather can turn invisible. She probably snuck in behind someone who could get to that stuff. She hated the shedding more than anything else, but she shouldn't have done that."

Larry thought for a moment. Something occured to him in regards to that kids power. "That kid's power...it seems familiar. It reminds me of a man that came to the safe house a few years ago. I can't remember his name, but he could change his body like that. I think he was some kind of scientist."

Gidget shook her head. "Sorry, fabric is one thing. Trying to get a solid object to change with you is...tricky.

She finished piecing together her attachments and turned to her friends. "Alright then. Lets scramble us an egg."

The doors to the med bay flew open as several stretchers were brought in. Each stretcher had a newly hatched person on it. Among them was a sickly young man with dark, stringy hair. He had a non-rebreather mask on his face, pumping high flow oxygen into his airway.

His head rolled onto his side and looked in the direction of Kerana and the others. Before he could say anything he was rolled into an examination room a few doors down from Heather's.

One of the doctors took the time to explain things to Kerana. " No, the chrysalises hatched. Some of the people's vitals aren't as strong as we'd like them to be and it's best to have some observed over night. Just to be sure."

Gidget shook her head. "Sorry, fabric is one thing. Trying to get a solid object to change with you is...tricky.

She finished piecing together her attachments and turned to her friends. "Alright then. Lets scramble us an egg."

"Oh joy, destruction and death," Annie joked, "my specialty. Well, let's go, then."

Just what we need, a reborn kid-Shane, Christian thought darkly, before people began to be brought in on stretchers. "Maybe we should leave," Christian suggested, "to give the doctors more room. I know at least in my case I can't help with healing people."

Larry nodded and slowly inched up the wall to stand up. "That's a good idea, but I'm going to stay. I want to be here when Heather wakes up. You should probably get back to your mom, Christian."

Christian nodded, "I understand. You want to be there for your sister. Well, I'm heading back to my room. Mom might have left though... if the eggs are hatching she might be there."

He frowned, "It doesn't matter though. Maybe I'll read a book or something... Anyways, see you later." He waved and walked away as quickly as his little legs could take him, but instead of heading towards his room he headed towards the direction Cassandra and the child Damian went. He wanted to talk to the two- at least Damian- see if he could help his mom or if he already had. Figure out if Damian did have a link with Shane.

Larry waved as Christian left. Just then a nurse stepped up to Kerana and asked, "Are you Miss Carter? The young man in that room wanted me to tell you not to cry anymore, and that he is okay."

Larry turned his attention to Deora and smiled. "How's it going with your powers?"
