Why, it's lovely to meet you. I luff new people. Gabryl-Kaine? That's a very interesting name, I like it. To Write Love On Her Arms--it's an anti-suicide movement. Today was the big national TWLOHA day. There's a story that goes with the name, but I'm not half so good a storyteller as Tak or Kirby, so it's best to let one of them explain it. It's also on the website.

I have never heard of that. I wish I had. I'm all for it.

(The name is startlingly reminiscent [wrong word maybe...] for me - my (ex)girlfriend tried halfheartedly quite a few times at the beginning of our relationship - more for the sensation than anything, but it scared the living daylights out of me - she stopped after I made her let me kiss her arms better every time she did it. I think (hope) it reminded her of what they meant (and did) to me. I mean I don't that's the only reason she stopped, (also the fact that she had a boyfriend who loved her pretty much unconditionally) but I think it helped.

Ya, not to turn the focus to all about me, but it was the first thing I thought of. I'd love to hear the story, if someone would humour me.

And yush - I like Gabryl Kaine too - if I ever were to change mine - that's it, Right there ('cept Gabe spelt normally) I'm very glad you like it.

The story is about Renee, her age at the time was 19.

She was haunted all her life, battling depression and nightmares after being "touched" by a men when she was younger. She already had about 50 scars tracing her arms... but one night she was drinking.. and finally wrote "******** Up" into her arms with a razor.

The treatment center labled her too great of a risk, and refused to accept her into detox and such. So she would have been alone.. to sink deeper into the depression that had already broken her. She was in the mercy of the love of those around her. For five days, her friends saved her. Cared for her as her church. Brought her back to life and showed her love...

At only 19, she owned an attitude and a humor that far surpassed her age. She inspired this large scale organization, a movement of love, to help all those who suffer from depression, addiction, self injury and suicide.



Jamie, who wrote her story down, asked her on the last night of her detox, what she would say if her story had an audience... She smiled and said:

"Tell them to look up. Tell them to remember the stars."

cutting doesn't work on me...like meds. It was really boring. so I guess I can't really understand that part of it. But the depression part really got to me...I looked at the story on the card, and all the people writing on their arms, and the t-shirt Nikki got me (wake up, you're alive, we're on your side) and it made me happy, like it was for me. I wish someone would have done it last year...might've been a much-needed slap in the face for me.

I suppose I don't get people who go into long periods of depression. I'll admit I also had my moment of suicide-consideration but thanks to whoever is up there looking over me, I got over it pretty quickly.

I may not believe in a lot of religious views, but I know some person/god/thing is up there and I've experienced plenty of things to prove that to me. Whoever you are, thank you. I may not know who you are, but I'll give thanks to you every day that I'm alive, until I finally come up to meet you biggrin

And on a random note, it's 5 in the afternoon and my roommate and his friend still haven't woken up eek I think they might be dead... >.> *poke*

I would be a Miss, considering that I'm female and unmarried. But titles are so ... God, I can't think of a word. Actually, I think they're entertaining. But Voxxx is fine. Voxxxie, or Cara-chan, Caroline, any of that works just as well. Enchante!

I used to be a cutter. Mom's not the nicest person at the best of times, and back then it wasn't the best of times (I stopped). TWLOHA kind of hit home. There's a group of us who are trying to get it going really big in small-town here. I know too many people who live like that.
