So mum just hired a guy to tear apart my bathroom.

He is coming tomorrow to rip my bathtub out tomorrow.

Hmmm. confused That's the first mid-life crisis I've heard of involving Bathroom conversion...But then I've grown up in a household that hasn't stopped renovating since before I was born.

Could be - Cheaper than a car though.

On another note - I am right pissed at my boss at the cafe right now - I worked until 12:30 last night at the Hotel (Which I do every weekend and cafe boss knows) So I didn't get to bed until 3:00. I got a call today at 7:30 from Cafe boss, "reminding" me that I was supposed to be coming in to work today (to open) because she was traipsing off to Vancouver (on the mainland) to deal with some business for the day, and that my coworker was coming to pick me up to get there by 8:00. If it hadn't been for the fact that if I were to not come in, She would leave him alone, I would've told her to stuff it. evil

And now I'm going off for another hotel shift... xp

Oops...Sorry, not a hotel cafe, Rather I have a job at a hotel, and one at an unrelated cafe. The hotel is nights, and the cafe is mornings (into evenings, as the scheduling is so bad, I invariably open and close.)

I've got to say though, despite the monetary woes of independant cafes - I much prefer them to corporate giants like Starbucks (No offense to your aspirations...sorry.) 'Course, its easy for me to say that, living in a city where the Cafe to people ratio is higher than Seattle.

But yes. Cafe = very cool stuff whee

That does sound lovely. We get some very interesting, intellectual types in the cafe down here, I' imagine you'd get much of the same. Is hotel-ing fun?

I think it'd be fun to work in an antique book store. Or a videogame store (think of the discounts! Ay). * end dorkiness*

Intellectuals? Uuumm...Not really unfortunately...The cafe's downtown do - we're out in the rural areas outside the city. Our patrons are old folks, and tha's about it. I (an intellectual I think... confused ) do frequent the cafes downtown though razz

Hoteling isn't bad - I'm on nights (4-12:20) so I don't many people - I spend almost all my time there here (in the guild) I'm at work right now in fact.

Its basically 7 hours of writing away the time, and 1 of frantic closeup.

You would not believe how many bookstores my hometown has - at least one per block. Its almost silly.

Aahhh videogames...Oooh! speaking of which - this will interest you Remy! New comp game coming out - Left 4 Dead - a FPS where you play through three "movies" worth of zombie survival sim. I played the demo - Its AWESOME. blaugh *dorkiness never ends...*

I'm way jealous of your plethora of bookstores. We've got the standard, commercialized two. Curse semi-small town life. I can't find Anouilh anywhere.

well, twice now i have written some new poems at work and then, for some unknown reason, decided to leave them there... > sad

anywho. if i wanted to start a Game or Contest... would anyone participate? just a poetry contest, with picked themes. I think it may have been done before, but meh, i thought i'd give it a shot. XD
