Courtyard (North)

Kana stared around herself, eyes wide in half alarm and half awe. She'd just suddenly appeared in this entirely new place! She wished she could just zip around from one place to another like that. It would have saved her a lot of trouble in the past. She blinked a couple times, ears twitching and then tilted towards Yuri as he spoke. She stared up at him, and then slowly nodded her head, turning to face the door now. She gaped at it a moment, biting her lip softly as she stared. She was hesitant to enter, not sure what she'd see. She glanced back towards Yuri at the question and remained silent for a couple seconds. "...my mom," she said quietly. That was the only thing she expected and the only thing she wanted. She couldn't ask for any more than that and was amazed to be getting the chance at all. She breathed out slowly, but didn't yet move. She cast Yuri another glance, smiling weakly, and then slowly inched her way towards the door, as if sneaking up on something likely to jump away at the last second. She even pounced at the end, hands grasping the doors handle lightly. Then she bit her lip a little harder, glanced at Yuri one last time, and slowly pushed the door open.  

[Enigma-Ragnarok]

Kenji looked at the Courtyard in amazement. The entire courtyard was mostly walkways or grass. He looked from side to side, and then dropped his bags and ran to the grassy area. Dropping on his back, he landed with a soft thump and closed his eyes. "So very calm, so very peaceful. Just the way I like things."

-Even if Kenji acted emotionless all the time, he still felt calmness and peace from the bottom of his heart. -

Listening to the breeze blow by, the birds chirping rhythmicly, and the grass wavering in the air, making squeaking sounds when rubbed against another razor of grass, Kenji starts to dose off in a tight sounding sleep, but never left his grip off of his dual blades.

The serenity of the secene did not last long as loud currsing was heard through the courtyard. A girl with long black hair and bright, crystal blue eyes entered with her hands in her jean pockets and her black tank top laying across her chest. Faye Minko wasn't ever a very happy soul, but after meeting her sister Aia a few days ago, she hadn't seen her since.

"It's been years!" she yelled angrily but to no one in particualar, she sighed as she kicked a soccer ball straight into the wall causing no damage which only seemed to make her more enraged. She breathed taking a deep breath and blinking as she put a hair tie in her mouth and started to put up her locks of black. Her feet lay bare, the soft grass full of flowers uneffecting her mood, as she could be quite stubborn, as much as her younger sister was anyway.

Hearing a loud bang made Kenji jump up and reflex reacted and made Kenji put his hands on his hilt to supress any danger that would be coming. When he saw that it was only a girl who had kicked a soccer ball against a wall. Lowering his blades, he walks over to the girl. "What are you so angry about?" Kenji asks.

"Nothing that concerns you!!!" she shouted back to him and picked up the ball considering to throw it straight at him but thinking better. She sighed remembering Aia's words to be a 'nicer, less threatening person' and hung her head. She set the ball down and sat on it studing him carefully, she wondered if she should make a friend out of him, though part of her was already wanting to see if she could get into a fight with him.

"Who are you anyway?" she asked him curiously as she folded her arms across her chest but in the less threatning way she could muster. Faye did have a good reason to be angry, after not seeing your younger sister for like five years you would be upset too she told herself. She bit her lip holding back the words that she wanted to blurt out.She put her hands behind her clutching the grass to not show her anger and try to get rid of some of it.

Kenji showed no signs of concern or fear at the sudden burst and just answered her question. "I'm Kenji, Kenji Ragnarok, and I'm new around here. And you?" Kenji says and raises an eyebrow after seeing her bite her lips. She sort of reminds me of my onee-chan...haha.... He laughed out a bit, then covered his mouth. "Gomenai, but uh, you don't seem ok...it just concerns me that everyone needs to be healthy and fit." he says raising an arm and flexing it jokingly. "But...it's just that when you kicked that ball it startled me. Is everything alright?"

Yuri watched her and smiled as she opened the door, waiting for her tos ee first before stepping into view of what was past the door. A very large meadow with flowers of all differentkinds and maky oak and cherry blossom trees aswell. There were a few Globe and Weeping willows here and there, but there was most noticably, and not far off, a beench near a large Oak that stood opposite a cherry blossom tree that was also near the bench. Standing silently a few feet off from the bench was a woman somewhere in her late-ish thirties. In the dim lightning caused by the very slowly setting sun, she looked very beautiful as she stood there. This woman was Kana's mother and Yuri shoved the hand not hlding his scythe into his pocket and watched her, waiting to see her reaction as what seemed like a whole new world was made accessible to her. Yuri was curious as to Kana's mother's personality, but he would not speak unless spoken to durning this time...since it would be an emotional satart and probably a twice as emotional ending.

Faye rolled her eyes completly forgetting her sisters's words and standing up as she streatched. "It doesn't concern you" she repeated again as she started to play with the soccer ball against her feet. She glanced back up at him and then back at the ball as she blinked, she could have sworn she saw Aia's face in it. "Ahhh!" she yelled suddenly as she kicked it away and jumped back a few feet and then slowly calmed down.

She blinked and then felt her heart beat start to go back to normal, 'fine then' she mummered as she folded her hands acrossed her chest and walked back over to him. "You seem exactly like the kind of guy that would get beaten up in elementary school...but my name's Faye, and all you need to know is to always stay away from my sister Aia" she said.

Kenji blinked, then stared at her after she made the remark. Beaten up during elementary school my a**....it's more like the opposite. He thought. He didn't want to say it, but he kept his calmness and asked, "Why do I need to stay away from your sister? I don't even know who she is. But now that you just told me to stay away, you just piqued my curiosity. So sorry if I seem a little nosy..." he says and sits down. "I have plenty of time if it's a long story, Faye-san."

"Don't call me Faye-san! Only Aia can call me that!" she said a vein pracitcally coming out from her head. She sighed as she walked slowly over and leaned against a tree and then looked down at him almost glaring. "Whatever, Aia is just my little sister, by a year, I don't like people around her especially not guys, I don't even like them around me!" she yelled. She crossed her arms and sat down next to him laying down on the grass and staring at the clouds as her expression softened.

"Either way...I don't like guys who are all tough and muscular or the show-off type, so what type are you?" she asked raising an eyebrow.

Kana stared straight ahead, her eyes extremely wide. She remained in a sort of stunned silence as her gaze fell upon her mother. She hadn't changed at all. Well, it'd only been just about a year since it'd happened, but still... Kana blinked several times and then took a step forward, and then another, before stopping abruptly. The woman had turned to face her. She had dark brown hair, but Kana's bright blue eyes, and she was fairly tall, unlike Kana. She also had a pair of cat ears and a tail, both brown to match her hair. She stared at Kana in surprise for a moment but then shook her head slowly extending her arms with a warm smile upon her face. Kana stared at her in shock, wondering if she was perhaps dreaming all of this. Maybe Suka had knocked her into a coma or something. But she was going to make this dream last as long as possible. She bit her lip again, tears welling up in her eyes for the third or fourth time that day. She tried to choke them back but it was impossible. She glanced back at Yuri, smiling weakly, and then suddenly sprinted, jumping into her mom's arms so hard the two of them nearly fell over. Her mother, Natsumi, just laughed and stroked the back of Kana's head, hugging her tightly as Kana clung to her in return, crying her eyes out yet again. Natsumi just smiled, kissing the top of Kana's head lightly as she hugged her close, whispering quiet, soothing words as she tried to calm the girl down.

Kenji wasn't paying attention to her and was busy watching birds fly by. "Huh? Oh, sorry! Ummm...the careless type I guess." He replies. "I can see why you don't like the braggy and boastful type. I don't like people like that either, but I don't hate them either." Kenji stands up and walks around the grass field. "If you don't like guys around you, then you should've said so. I wouldn't care if I were told to go away." He says replying to Faye's explaination.

Yuri walked through and shut the door behind him, leaning against it as he watched the two of them. He smiled very lightly as he watched, afraid that if he did any more than close the door he might ruin the moment. Her mother seemed to be an understanding person, he would explain to her what he explained to KAna if she did not already understand that much. The trees werevery pretty..and if he did it right he could bring her back to the living realm through one of the trees. He would not let Kana know this though...niether of them. Because if he did then it would keep Kana from ever getting completey over the death of her mother. It had been so soon anyway, if the next time he brought her here she still had not accepted her death then he would make the offer, but right now he did not see that happening. Things would work perfectly as planned if he did as he wanted to do and focused on that, not what he though he might end up doing later. He had always been one to be known to have good morals...but not when it came to death. He waseither very strict or very loose with the rules...never anything between.

Kana continued clinging to her mom, refusing to let go or even open her eyes. She was afraid that if she did, she'd find out this wasn't real and she was just dreaming or something. It definitely seemed too good to be true. But after a moment, Natsumi slowly began prying Kana off of her, laughing quietly to herself as she did. It took a bit of effort but she finally suceeded and held Kana at arm's length so she could get a good look at her. She smiled gently as she wiped away some of her daughter's tears and Kana very slowly opened her eyes again. Natsumi held her shoulders lightly as she finally spoke. "You look well," she said simply, with another small laugh, mostly directed at herself. "Though, I'm not even sure how this is happening... How are you doing?" Kana remained silent for a few seconds, and then slowly shook her head. "I-I've been good," she said faintly. She actually had been plauged with a recent series of unfortunate events, but she didn't want to worry her mom with things like that. "I'm glad to hear that," Natsumi said softly, hugging Kana to her once more. She stared over the girl's head as her eye fell upon Yuri. She paused for a second, and then smiled, assuming he was the one who had made this possible. He seemed slightly familiar, but she couldn't entirely place him. She continued smiling though, still hugging Kana tightly. "Thank you," she said warmly, directing this at Yuri.
