More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Alexavier still seemed strangely calm. It was strange to see a man who really did not have a sense of danger or fear.

"You're welcome." He replied dryly feeling this was somehow part of her plan. Strange woman she was.

The bio-electricity suddenly sparked up and shot out towards Ako. It struck him but all it did was give a soft tingling sensation. It had no intention of harming him. It was just...curious since the electricity was similar. At the same time a tendril of water formed from the air. It briefly connected with the acid. As it did it became acid. It quickly bypassed Annie's whip and hover in front of her face. It went from side to side, examine her. Right now it only seemed curious.

"What the hell is it doing?" Theonis wondered softly after putting down Trinity.

Annie stepped back as the water tendril came towards her, hovering side by side in front of her. Her eyes widened and she muttered, "It's almost as if it's mimicking our powers..." Clenching her fists she took another unsure step back, solidifying.

"Anyone have any ideas on this? It doesn't seem hostile right now," Annie said.

Trinity stepped forward with her arms folded, "Well I beg to differ. The thing was burning me from the inside out. Or at least gave me the impression that I was." she paused a moment to reflect upon her actions. " Though... i suppose it was reacting in self defense."

On reflex, Ako held one hand towards the incoming electricity, pointing the other towards an exposed wire in a section of buckled wall. It was a cliche move, but he knew from experience that it worked. However, he was surprised to feel that the bolt didn't even have enough power to be redirected. Instead, it stayed with him, with of feeling like touching a low current wire. Something compelled him to lower his guard. Something on a deep level of understanding told him this thing wasn't too much of a threat at the moment. The arcs along his arms faded.

(2 references ran through my mind. 1; everything I know about elemental control I learned from Avatar. 2; did the egg and Ako just have a Zapdos/Pikachu moment, like in the first Pokemon movie?)

Annie raised a brow and said, "Well, I'm sure not using my power right now... and just a heads up that tendril is acid. I don't have the insight of being attacked-not that I'm complaining- thanks to Alexavier's help. When it struck out at me it felt as if it was a physical attack just going through my liquid form, but I'm not sure if that is more because that is how Alexavier's shielding works or how the attack works in contact with the shield."

She crossed her arms and with a raised a brow remarked sarcastically, "Anyone speak its language? Maybe we can be friends and get over our misunderstandings. Then we can all hold hands and sing old campfire songs too." Annie still hadn't totally lost her sarcasm or prickly personality.

(OOC: I just finished watching all the seasons of Avatar a couple nights ago, and I have to say, I am inspired to have Annie start using water bending attacks, except with acid, of course I suppose she could just use water too since she controls all liquid.)

Gidget grimmaced inside the helmet. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her face, although hidden, could probably be deduced by her tone.

"The little boy screamed in terror at the thought of this thing waking up. It destroyed Gadget, who was aguably sentient. This...thing is a slap in the face to what Shane accomplished by sacrificing his mind to bring back most of the people he killed."

"Everyone who doesn't want to die get back in the viewing area. I'm not taking a chance at that thing becoming another Legion."

Annie sighed, closing her eyes and began to count to ten in her head, but lost count at six before she snapped, "Yes, and if it was up to you, you would have locked Shane forever in that cell to be consumed by Legion, right?"

She took a deep breath and hissed, "We can't know for sure what Shane wants: he isn't with us anymore, we can only make assumptions." Narrowing her eyes at the egg she said, "I agree that the most logical decision is to take that thing out, but I'm not going to let you stand there and act like your decision is faultless. The most logical decision would be to neutralize any dangerous meta-human. Should I start a list?"

She rolled her eyes and pushed a stray curl behind her ear, "Let's just get this over with. I'm fine here. I'm safe from any physical attack and Alexavier is shielding me from psychological attacks: I'm fine."

Alexavier couldn't help but laugh at bit. "Shane's wish is done. It worked. Also, you'd take the word of a kid who just hatched over the opinion of your little group here? Kids are also scared of the dark. You'd kill Trinity here because she can control that darkness?" His words were quick and it might sounded like he was joking but he really wasn't.

"Besides it's too late to use that excuse. You took in all of those chrysalises. Every single one that spawned from Legion. Surely even you must have had your doubts. What's to say they don't suddenly change and turn into hungering pieces of biomass? You are even letting two of them roam around freely."

Theonis was a bit hesitant but he was inclined to side with Alexavier on this. " He does have a point. And so far it hasn't attacked us. It only defended itself."

The acid tendril slowly turned back into water. It became thicker and soon it was as thick as a persons head. The water began to shape itself to imitate the shape of Annie's face. The electricity however continued to surge throughout Ako, not causing harm in anyway. The egg was highly curious at the moment and tried to identify them. More cracks appeared on it.

"I must agree that Alexavier has a point. Though intentional or not it did almost suffocate Gidget with Gadget's face.

How do we know if the kid is not just manipulating us to think the egg is bad for some reason?

I still wonder if there's a connection. Like as if something cataclysmic were to occur if both were in the same room. Perhaps they merge and something worse happens.

The bottom line is. We don't know much about this this thing. Only that it is powerful. As far as I know we haven't figured out a weak point yet.


Either way we better decide fast. There's not much time."

Gidget could feel her heart racing inside of the suit. Her eyes darted around, watching every reading and every person the multiple cameras had visuals on. Her mind was a torrent of questions and doubts. She had forgotten what this felt like, and it was fueling her terror.

"I get it now. I'm the only one here with a mental block. That thing has you under it's control in an attempt to keep itself alive." She raised her arm and a weapon emerged from the gauntlet, pointed at Alexavier. "And he's in cahoots with it. I remember what Shane showed me. He loves this kind of carnage."

She raised her free hand to the control panel by where the window was. Her voice became manic and desperate as she cried, "You can't see what I see. The readout on that thing is undecernable. It isn't a metahuman, it's a monster. I am still in charge of this facility! I am Valhalla, and I wont let that thing hatch!"

With a commanding surge of her power, the room housing the egg sealed itself off with large, heavy, metallic panels. Almost immediately the room became a vacuum and sucked all the oxygen out, followed by an enourmous bombardment of microwaves. Gidget had this planned before capturing Shane. She knew he needed oxygen, and that heat would destroy the biomass. She was going to smother the egg before it could hatch.

Annie narrowed her gaze at Gidget and stepped between the aimed weapon and Alexavier, solidified and acting as a faint shield of sorts. "Gidget, I'm not going to try to stop you from destroying that, even though I'm inclined to think even a monster should have a chance to be or not to be a monster. Without Shane's use of Legion's power I wouldn't have been able to get Christian back so easily, after all, or get some of my revenge on Daedalus."

"However, I do ask you to lower that weapon aimed at Alexavier, and now me," Annie added. "If you plan on harming him, you will have to go through me." She was inclined to agree, that Alexavier did delight in carnage, but she also felt like she should stand up for him, and thus she did. He wasn't a completely despicable person, after all. (And maybe she forgave his flaws more because of the fact he was a Daedalus experiment- she could relate a little).

Alexavier frowned at Gidget's behavior." Well she's gone bonkers." He joked. Still...he found it curious that Annie would protect him. Because she owed him one for shielding her? Alexavier refrained from saying anything else but he was ready to defend himself. It was a bit strange for him holding back like this. Normally he would have crushed the gauntlet with his telekinesis.

Theonis watched Gidget freak out. This wasn't like her at all. The falling blast doors caused him to step back in surprise. He was against killing the egg. Just because it defended itself and was different it should die? Her frantic words were the final drop for him. Theonis had heard a speech similar to what Gidget said and snapped. " You know that sounds exactly like Daedelus! It's not like us. It's not human, it's a monster! We must kill it! Are you even hearing yourself talk? Who are you to decide who gets to live and who dies?!" Theonis shouted at the end. In his anger his newly upgraded power flared up. Multiple slashes ran across the blast door. Not deep enough to cut through it yet.

The water dropped when it was cut off from the egg by the blast but not before the imitated face of Annie showed confusion. The electricity that ran through ago was also cut off. But not before becoming painful to Ako and discharging itself towards Gidget. It didn't need oxygen inside the egg but the microwaves were a serious threat in its current state. A loud screech like scream was heard through the blast doors as the doors began to deform. But it's telekinesis wasn't refined enough yet to break through. The scream subsided and the egg was gone.

Ako grimaced as the electical connection grew much stronger, to the point of being painful before it cut off. The unexpected pain caused a lapse in his attention, and for a moment the bolt arced towards Gidget. The lapse was short, however, and just as easily as he could create it, he dispersed the stray arc before it caused any harm.

He took a deep breath, his mind clearing. His attention went to Gidget. He knew he needed to calm her, but in her current state, it seemed the next unexpected noise or touch might set her off.

Gidget's heart skipped a beat as the winding arch dissipated before her instruments could even warn her of it's impact. Theonis' sudden power lash and Annie's defiance only served to fuel her paranoia. She took a few shallow breaths before speaking again.

"You don't understand. I have to do this. If it weren't for me there would be no safe haven for metahumans. I make these choices so no one else has to. With more time I could've...I could've saved Shane."

"The boy...he helped. He didn't have to but he did." She huffed as tears occluded her vision. "Just like Shane would've. He could feel how bad that thing was before it-"

Gidget stopped herself when she could no longer hear the screeching. It was too abrupt. She commanded the sequence to stop and the blast doors to open.

Vents drew the hot air out and returned oxygen to the room before opening the doors. Gidget rushed past the others and up to the window ledge and looked around. "This...no...no no no. There should be residue, a pasty smoldering heap! Where did it go?!"

The air began to heat up around Annie as Gidget went on, though Annie managed to control her anger at Gidget's words. Annie considered crossing the distance and slapping her when Gidget opened the doors and began panicking over the lack of remains.

"I wouldn't worry about it," Annie remarked dryly. "If it is evil like you and that boy who I don't entirely trust or like despite his help, which need I remind you I can sense auras so I'm rarely wrong about people, then I'm sure it'll pop up soon causing all kinds of havoc. We can deal with it then as a united front and you can tell us 'I told you so'. If it was merely defending itself then it is probably on the run and hiding and won't show up and we won't have to be concerned about it."

"I know emotions may be new to you, Gidget," Annie said, "but quite frankly you are out of control. And I would kindly ask you not to mention Shane like that in my presence."
