More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Well you scared it away. Good job on scaring away a potential monster." Alexavier said dryly." Can I start a mutiny now? You clearly aren't capable of controlling your own emotions. So you really shouldn't lead miss Valhalla." Alexavier continued.

Theonis was surprised by his own power flare up. It was concerning. He took pride in his ability to understand and master his powers in such a short period of time. But this wasn't the time to think about that. The egg was gone. Like Gidget said there would have been a heap of smoldering flesh! Where-

His mind stopped. Shadows! " s**t....that thing copied the powers of Annie, Ako and Trinity. Ako's electricity was similar to its own bio-electricity, Annie attacked it and it copied her. Trinity attacked before and used the shadow to grab it. Don't you see? By attacking you made it stronger." Theonis paused to let it sink in a bit" It used the its own shadow to get out!"

The egg emerged from the shadows in an old abandoned warehouse. A faint light shone upon it. It was safe though it had no idea where it was. Perhaps it was safe to hatch here. Large cracks ran down the egg.

As Theonis voiced his theory, Ako's mind finally seemed to catch, and his blood ran cold. The thing didn't copy his power, it had used it's own. That sudden increase in power, though, that was different.

"If that thing has our powers, at anywhere near our current strengths, we need to find it. Now." He knew very well what kind of destruction he could cause, and the thought of something else with that power, likely without the same control, especially in a dense urban area, was something that scared him.

And he'd gone head-to-head with someone in control of fear itself.

He looked to Gidget, the girl he'd help save from that man. Now she was the one in control, but he wondered if they should trust her judgement at the moment.

He knew what they should do; split up, each taking a phone or radio, and comb the surrounding area. He could take his bike, Trinity could use her shadow travel, and everyone else would need to get their own transport. When someone found the egg, they would hang back and call for the others, but then what? Attack it and risk making it stronger? Call in some sort of extraction team and bring it back to be secured somewhere in Valhalla? Did they even have those resources?

"Alexavier, if you did start a mutiny just who would you suggest running this place instead?" she shook her head and ran her fingers through her hair as she considered what Theonis and Ako said. "The amount of control it required to create shapes with liquid, indicates that it does have at least my power at a high level even if it isn't of equal strength. That is hardly a warm fuzzy feeling considering I could probably wipe out at least half of the population Valhalla alone now that the child removed the limits to my power-probably the whole population if no one made an attempt to stop me."

"The good news was it wasn't using our powers aggressively, the bad news is if I was in its shoes considering Gidget's attempt to destroy it, I would be very much inclined to go on the offensive now," Annie continued. "Regardless, if we plan to find it, we should split up. Trinity and Theonis can go together. And, I'll go with Alexavier. Ako, unless you think you can control your girlfriend, you should go alone, and we need to temporarily get Gidget out of this situation. Alexavier is right, as much as I hate to agree, mutiny may be the most logical option. I'm not going on a potentially dangerous mission following the orders of someone I can't trust to control her emotions."

Gidget's hands shook as they gripped the ledge of the window. Her enhanced strength in the suit allowed her to bend the metal slightly. Everything had gone wrong. Everyone was against her. But they were right.

Gidget's faceplate lifted away, followed by the rest of the helmet collapsing on itself like a telescope behind her neck. Her eyes were blood shot from crying, and the circles under them were heavily pronounced. She hung her head and turned around to face the others.

With a heavy sense of shame she sniffed and muttered, "That wont be necessary. Effective immediately, I am relinquishing operational control of all tactical missions and ops."

A digital display appeared on her unweaponised left gauntlet. She lifted it to her line of sight and pressed a few parts of the screen. She lifted her head slowly, as though the sheer weight of it was almost too much for her. "Trinity, you've just been promoted to head mistress of this facility."

Trinity went deep in thought as Theonis pointed out it has absorbed her abilities. All the things that could go wrong with her power if this fell in the wrong hands. She looked up as Gidget put her in charge of Valhalla. It was obvious that she felt that she was emotionally compromised to be making important decisions. The question was. Would Trinity be ready to take on this heavy responsibility as well as her job. She nodded, "I will do my best Gidget. But I would like to revisit this once we have addressed the egg. Annie, that plan sounds good. Does everyone have a way to communicate with each other?" Making reference to her smart phone.

Annie felt bad about Gidget, and felt worse she felt relieved now that Trinity was in charge. "No," Annie said to Trinity's question about the way to communicate. "Alexavier and I will need a phone, and also a car to get around the city to hunt for this thing. My driver's license expired while I was in Daedalus, but I remember how to drive, so I should be fine."

Well it was just something Alexavier blurted out but they actually did stage a muttiny. Even if Gidget relinquished her authority before anyone could make a choice. He tapped his head." No need for a phone." Funny how even though Trinity was in command Annie was giving them.

Theonis couldn't help but feel bad for Gidget. Experiencing new emotions in this scenario where a lot of lives depended on her....

"Dracula, that's the password for what my dad gave you. I was half asleep when I heard the message and it slipped my mind afterwards. Maybe you can ya know..check out what he gave you." Theonis opted trying to find a way for her to still be useful and distract herself.

Trinity tossed a set of keys to Annie, the key chain had a letter and a number to the car it belonged to. She pulled out a drawer with a whole bunch of cell phones in it. She walked over to Annie and said, "Here. These phones have access to the global contact list of Valhalla."

Theonis made his suggestion to Gidget and an idea came to mind. She did manage to capture some information on the thing's power signature. "Gidget, do you think you could pin point the proximity based on the readings you captured from the egg?"

"Thanks," Annie said taking the keys and the phone. "I'm heading out. You can call me or text me if you get any information on the egg."

She paused at the door and said with a wry smile, "Alexavier, feel like braving it as a passenger in a vehicle considering my driving skills? If so let's go. No use in waiting around." Annie suspected Alexavier might have his own way of tracking the egg and she planned to make use of him. She wanted to get there first to investigate and deal with the problem and potential threat on her own terms.

Once she had calmed down a bit, Ako stepped up beside Gidget, placing a hand on her shoulder. He wanted to hug her, but felt the suit would be in the way. He wondered if she could even feel his hand. He wanted to speak, to comfort her, but words once again failed him.

"Why not? I just hope it's a Delorean so I can make it fly. That'll turn some heads." He replied in a joke.

You and I both know I'll find it first. Isn't that why you wanted me along?" Alexavier said to her through telepathy.

Annie nodded with a smile at his telepathic message as she led the way to garage and thought her response, Of course that is main reason why I brought you. I also brought you as back-up. I can't rely on Gidget's device to protect me from psychic attack if I plan on using my greatest physical protection, so I need you. And, quite honestly you aren't doing a good job getting people to like you and thus they don't trust you: I think I'm the only one who is willing to work with you.

She pressed the automatic lock on the key Trinity had given her and nondescript silver Ford beeped and Annie raised a brow as she headed to the car, "I'll let you be navigator."

Oh I feel so used and I don't even mind. Who needs trust anyway? People only get in the way when you try to get what you want.

"Yeah okay whatever. Let's do this" He said as he hopped into the car.

Starting the car, Annie adjusted the mirrors, considered buckling up before the thought passed her mind. She pulled out of the parking spot and headed out of the garage. As she headed out of Valhalla she considered elaborating that she wouldn't work with him if she didn't trust him at least some, but decided not to give him that much credit. Besides, if he really cared if she trusted him or not he could always just dig deeper into her thoughts.

As they reached the street she said as she drove, assuming Alexavier would tell her when she needed to turn, "Cassandra doesn't like me. Why are you helping? Obviously you two are two different individuals now so I assume you have individual emotions towards people, but it doesn't make sense for you to help. The others don't like you or trust you. Gidget flat out asked my opinion on whether we should trust you. They see you as a threat. Why help?"

Alexavier rested his face on his knuckles as he stared out of the window. He didn't led on as much but this was the first time he had been outside with a clear mind. Nothing compelling him to seek out Shane, no hunger to be united with Cassandra.

"A sense of purpose I suspect. A reason for being. I mindlessly chased Shane, wanting to kill him for no reason other than him being alive. Go right. I thought it was over after he absorbed us. That we'd be one. Even in there we weren't. When I shattered Legions control I thought we'd finally be one. But I am me and...no longer her. Left here." He spoke whilst guiding them through a part of the city. They were getting close to the shopping district.
