Seishi listened to the words that he used in his excuse for not punishing her failure. She looked up from the ground and at him, searching for his eyes, and when she found them she questioned his decision. "Why is the possession not punished for failing its owner? Master blames himself for the failure of his slave...Why?" She blinked curiously as she waited for what he might answer. Her cloak was lifted slightly with a gust of wind that went by from somewhere and she did not notice but it revealed a cut in her side from something that she had not managed to pay enough attention to when it happened to notice it. It was bleeding, but she did not feel it because it was just above the small cloth thong-like covering that she wore and before the blood became large enough for her to feel it it was absorbed by that covering. The only other thing that was near the covering was her belt which was there simply to holster a few knivs and her gun and the other way around at times. She had both hands on the tree now, ready to embrace a punishment that may come for her questioning his decision. Things like that had happened all of the time with Shadow, and it was horrible that she had ever come in contact with him but what was worse than the way he treated her was the way he made her prefer her life to be lived...That was what brought on all of these memories and all of her assumptions, such as the punishment for failure.

Hiro blinked once and then realized she was staring directly into his eyes. He stared back though, head tilted to one side just slightly. "I don't think of you as a possession..." he mumbled, a little embarassed by the idea. "And you're not a slave either. You don't have to stay by me all the time if you don't want to." He glanced around, as if making sure no one was listening in, and then turned back to her. "And it was my fault. I didn't put up much of a defense at all." It really did feel extremely odd, being called Master, and now she was referring to herself as a slave as well? It really felt odd. He frowned to himself and walked towards her, noting the way she was gripping the tree. He laid his hand lightly upon her head, smiling softly down at her as he moved his other to her side. It glowed very faintly as he took a second to heal her. "If you want a master who's going to punnish you for things, then maybe you picked the wrong person."

Shawn glances over at Cinder, still 'perched' on his shoulder and gives a slight smirk at the mention of it being a game. "Well, I'm glad someone enjoys having him around. Cinder seems to have decided to be my own 'Jiminy Cricket' of sorts."

He pauses a moment and then looks at Naomi with a slight nervous smile, "Not that I hate him or anything, it's just that I guess he can get on my nerves sometimes."

Cinder gives a small 'hmph,' shifting slightly on his shoulder. "If I wasn't around, you wouldn't be here, I bet."

"But we wouldn't know that since you've always been around, huh?" Shawn automatically replies to Cinder before his eyes widen slightly and he addresses Naomi, "Oh, um, sorry, I tend to talk to Cinder out loud a lot. I don't even know if you can 'hear' him, huh?"

Naomi watched him quietly, nodding her head a couple times at various things Shawn said. "But it helps keep you from getting lonely, right?" she asked curiously. "Even if you don't get along all the time?" Then she suddenly paused. She'd heard a very faint whisper, but it was somewhat hard to make out, and wasn't sure where it'd come from.

But Shawn replied to it instantly and she blinked a couple times as he looked back towards her again. Then she recovered from her surprise and nodded her head slowly. "I think I can... very barely, hear what he's saying." She looked towards Shawn's shoulder again, in the empty space just above it. "It's nice to meet you, Cinder," she said with a small bow of her head, smiling to herself, and then listening carefully in case he replied.

The features of the small red panda seem to almost smile as Cinder gives a slight bow from Shawn's shoulder, "And it's very nice to meet such a polite young lady such as yourself, miss Naomi. I bet with a little work you could easily see and hear me with little trouble, and I'm hoping to teach Shawn to make it easier for others as well, but he doesn't seem to listen to me much these days. Anyway, I'm glad you caught Shawn before he decided to hermit away in his room again."

Shawn frowns slightly at the long spiel Cinder goes in and mutters an aside to Naomi, "If you don't get all what he's saying, don't worry, he was just saying hello."

Of course Cinder knows what Shawn said, though, and gives him a glare as a simple response.

Naomi couldn't see the panda well enough to know that he was bowing, and definitely not good enough to see the glare. But she heard most of what he was saying, and smiled happily. "Thank you very much," she said with a small laugh before smiling towards Shawn as well. They were an interesting pair, she'd admit that. "I'm glad I caught him too."

Her wings shifted against her back, and then suddenly strank down to only about a foot in length. A white feather managed to seperate itself from the rest and Naomi frowned slightly as she reached down and picked it up, twirling it between her fingers slowly. "So you were heading back to your room? To study or something?" she asked curiously.

If Cinder could smirk, you could be sure he would be, but there's a certain smugness to his 'voice,' "I think you could at least learn some manners from this person."

Shawn ignored Cinder's comment and was about to say something when Naomi's wings shrink before his eyes. He stares a moment before he realizes he was asked a question that he should probably reply to.

He gives an embarrassed smile as he speaks up, "Er, yes, to study. I'm getting a normal education on top of anything extra I hope to learn since I haven't really been properly schooled." He seems to mull something over and then shakes his head as he seems to think better of it.

Naomi blinked, catching part of Cinder's words, but not all. Though, it was enough, and she smiled uncertainly to herself, hoping she wasn't causing an argument or smething between them. But then she realized Shawn was staring at her, and stared right back in slight confusion until she realized what he was looking at. She laughed quietly and held out the feather to him. "Want it?" she grinned. "Not too many people can say they have an angel's feather."

Then she refocused upon what he'd said and nodded slowly, pausing a second as she saw his slight change in expression, but then deciding to overlook it. "I've never been to a normal school," she laughed. "And coming here isn't really helping. I'm mainly learning how to use this better." She tapped the sword that hung at her waist with two fingers.

Seishi:
She winced slightly as she felt him touch her head and then her eyes filled with curiousity when it did not hurt and he healed a wound she had not felt until he'd done so. She looked down at it for just a second and then back into his eyes, studying them and trying to figure him out...
"Why would anything such as I desire abuse like that?" She had said nothing about wanting him to-it was just odd that he did not and so she decided actually not to coment further on the idea and kept her mouth shut after that. She was learning compassion from her master and with that would open a gate through which every emotion might tresspass upon her being...possibly even love. She cold not allow that to happen, but she had led herself into a position which she could not really avoid it and with that inability she would learn that there was nothing that she could do to replace herself in the world or to compensate for a second death of one of her Masters. Either she would have to wait for him to not want her anymore, to refuse her completely, or she would end up changing for him and eventually learning to regret the change and lust for more than she could handle in the new world she'd been introduced to with her final assassination. A subconcious targetting crosshair that had set upon her master had through her created a path to normality which she would be hypnotized into following...some way or another. There was nothing she could do now...

Shawn seems surprised at the offer, just as much as what the item actually is, and takes the feather, "Really? You're an angel? Wow, I never met an angel before. Then again, I've spent my life among humans...." He trails off as if he was about to say more but catches himself and looks over at her sword.

"So, um, you're just learning fighting skills? I don't suppose that sword is flaming, is it? I read somewhere that angels had flaming swords." He gives a nervous smile as he asks this, while Cinder can't help but roll his eyes at him.

Hiro pulled his hands away from her, dropping them back by his sides again. "I don't know," he said with a small shrug of his shoulders. "But you seemed like you were expecting it so much... And I'm not able to." She'd referred to herself somewhat oddly, but he didn't say anything about it this time. His eyes shifted over into the distance, towards the hospital, and he stared in that direction for a few seconds. He rubbed at his neck slightly, where some of the markings had been, and then dropped his arm again to look back at Seishi. "So..." he began uncertainly. "Anymore injuries anywhere?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:10 pm
Naomi smiled, bobbing her head up and down. "Yes!" she cried happily. "I don't think a lot of people can truthfully say they've met an angel before." She paused when he trailed off, watching him for a moment before shrugging it off. If he wanted to stop, then she wouldn't pry.

Instead she answered his next question, first laughing quietly at the flaming sword comment. "Nope, it's just a normal sword." To prove this, she drew it about halfway, showing the thin, silver blade. "But I can make an ice sword, if I want." Grinning to herself, she held out her other hand and a long sword of ice began shaping itself, building and lengthening. In a matter of seconds it was finished. She held it carefully by the hilt. "And yes. The only reason I was allowed to come here was because I said I'd be training. I'm going to be a guardian angel someday," she nodded.

Shawn watches as Naomi creates the ice sword, astonishment clearly on his face the entire time. "Wow, that's pretty cool!" Cinder gives a slight groan at that comment, earning a confused look from Shawn before he speaks again. "So you're going to be a guardian angel? Is it a very demanding job? I always thought they help people out of tough situations, but I didn't think those situations required swordskills..." While he's babbling slightly, he puts the feather in a pouch on the front of his school bag for safe keeping.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:36 pm
Naomi grinned, missing the groan completely and therefore remaining oblivious to the reason for Shawn's confusion. From his next words, she just assumed he was confused about why she'd need a sword. "Um, it depends on who you're assigned to," she began explaining. "Sometimes it does involve sword skills. If the person I'm protecting gets into trouble, sometimes merely holding up a sword will cause the attacker to run away." She grinned to herself at the thought, and thencontinued. "Though, I think my parents are just being over cautious." She shook her head slightly, shrugging her shoulders. "It's ok though. I guess I don't mind, too much."

Shawn 'hrms' a moment and gives a nod, "I guess that makes sense. Intimidation does tend to ward off things. But being over cautious is just one way of parents showing they care, I'm sure." Shawn almost sounds wistful with that last comment, but he's all smiles as he continues on, "So then you enjoy learning here then?"

Cinder gives Shawn a strange look, which Shawn misses, and moves to stretch out along both his shoulders and back to offer himself a more comfortable perch.
