More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Alexavier shrugged." Don't know what it's up to. Not sure if I should care. And what are they gonna do if I don't feel like going back after it? Or you for that matter. It's on it's own now and if it messes up we'll know and maybe we can talk it out. Or turn it into a steamy pile of mush. Or it could do that to us. So many possibilleties here." Alexavier joked." Not like we CAN do anything against it."

Annie laughed shortly. "I doubt it can turn me into a steamy pile of mush. I'm immune to acid. I wasn't when I first got my powers," she said and rubbed her arms which were splattered with minute scars from drops of acid when she first realized her power while in the shower, "but since I ingested that pure meteor substance I've been immune. I would only worry about yourself getting turned into a steamy pile of mush. But if you stick around me close enough I might be able to save you from such a fate."

She shrugged, "But you are right, there really isn't much if anything we can do against it. Hell, I can't even get a reading on whether it has a good aura or not. It doesn't even have an aura. It's like a void..." She shook her head. "Well, we should head back to the car so I can at least call up my favorite shadow-manipulating security guard. I'm not in the mood to hunt that thing down right now so after I check in via phone, I'm free."

"It just occured to me that if we go after the being now, we really have no plan. What are you thoughts about this whole thing? You think it's something to worry about?"

"I was just thinking that. We treat it like a threat yet it was right when it said that it has been under attack since before he hatched. It's clearly out of our league so what do we even hope to accomplish? Lock it up if we can't handle it? If that is even possible? We can't treat it like some kind of animal just because it's different. We'd be no better than the rest if we did that."

"Indeed. I do admit I felt conflicted as it made its point. I honestly didn't think locking up Shane and gasing him wasn't ideal, but considering what happened... It was probably the best option at the time and that just delayed the inevitable.

In a sense, metas like Shane and this new being kind of reminds me of what it's like to be human. Y'know? Fear of the unknown.

When we found the thing in the middle of it all, it being a threat was only a possibility. It seemed that it became a threat when the kid reacted and because of that Gidget thought it was a threat. I keep wondering why is it the kid reacted in such a way and not so much the other hatchlings? That in turn makes me wonder if there's any form of connection between the two. Any ideas or recommendations on how we should handlet this?"

"Hell as far as we know that kid might be the big bad guy here. Would Gidget have acted the way she did if he didn't cry out?" Theonis replied. " I don't know. But maybe it's best if those two didn't meet just to be on the safe side."

"Immune huh? Guess we both have our perks. It can't invade my mind and it can't use your own power against you." Alexavier responded." Do babies have an aura?"

Gidget huffed in frustration a bit before realizing she was about to fly off the handle again. She cleared her throat and looked up at Ako. "I don't really handle personel records. I also can't access them anymore after giving control to Trinity. I used to be able to just pull up a list of names, but my head isn't full of wires and program boards anymore. So I literally don't know where-"

She was cut off by a chime that goes off whenever Trinity or one of her instructors enters the lab by way of their powers. Gidget looked slightly disappointed. It was too soon, and they came directly here instead of the med bay. No one was hurt, but it told Gidget that the thing was still alive.

"They're back sooner than I expected."

Heather smiled and blinked a few times as the girls came into her room. She cleared her throat and said quietly, "Hey there. It's...weird to see you guys. This is going to sound crazy, but you guys look crazy vivid. Like, a grainy filter was taken off or something."

"I think I must've blacked out. The last thing I remember was some weird kid coming in here. He looked kind of familiar too."

Her gaze shifted to the large object in Kerana's grasp. She lifted her head slightly, not noticing that she was able to do so with her slightly longer neck only. "What's with the water jug?"

"Immune huh? Guess we both have our perks. It can't invade my mind and it can't use your own power against you." Alexavier responded." Do babies have an aura?"

Annie shrugged and glanced at him at his question and tried to remember whether babies did have an aura. The only baby she had been around was Christian and she wasn't exactly concentrating on whether the child had an aura or not at the time. "Come to think of it, I don't think Christian had an aura when he was younger, but I'm pretty sure that when I was kid there were at least one or two other kids that I avoided like the plague because they just seemed 'off'. Christian has an aura now, though. Honestly, I haven't been around any other babies since my sensory ability got more definite. Maybe it is something you develop. However, I have a theory some people are born evil. But then again, that thing is a little more cognizant than the a baby, it should have an aura."

Ako became a bit more alert as the chime sounded, but as Gidget spoke, he realized what it was and calmed back down. Breathing a sigh as he knew their little moment was over, he offered; "We'll find someone. Let's see what Trinity has to say, and if you want, I'll help you search."

Gidget nodded to Ako before striding to the darkest corner of the lab. She figured her friend would be there since that was the agreed upon "no sneaking up on Gidget" zone established earlier that week. Suffice to say, Gidget's renewed experience with surprise was not a pleasant one.

She approached Trinity and Theonis with a heavy look in her eyes. "Lemme guess...it hatched and got away. *Sigh* at least you guys are safe. I was really worried that thing would be the antithesis to the boy."

"That's just the thing. It keeps on talking about changing the world and making a world without conflict. A world in peace. Something that his father Legion was going to do but did wrong. So I don't think we'd have to worry about it becoming a second Legion. It also kept on repeating that it was no threat unless we start first." Theonis responded. " At least that's what I made out of it all."

Trinity folded her arms a little, "Back up a minute. Guess? I sent a text to your phone about the egg hatching. As for the being itself, it didn't seem to have a gender. I still think it may be a threat despite what it says. I don't think it's fully aware of what it is capable of and with the power it's currently wielding, that can be a danger in of itself. I'd like to keep some sort of surveillance on it, that is if you are able to track it down with the energy signature that was captured earlier."

Gidget blushed a bit in embarassment before checking her phone. Sure enough, there was the message Trinity was talking about. She placed the phone back in her pocket and looked to Trinity as though she were about to make an excuse.

"I'm sorry, I just...I...I need help. It's so noisy now, in my head I mean."

Trinity raised her brow as Gidget looked like she was about to make an excuse. She was going to ask if there was something wrong when she apologized and spoke of noise in her head.

"Is it all the emotions you've been experiencing? Do you need to speak to someone about it?" She tried to be cautious with her words She didn't want to out right ask 'do you need to speak to the shrink?' She started to bring up Dr. Sarah Lane on her phone, she was one of the psychologists in Valhalla. The contact lists were available to everyone in Valhalla. Certain members such as generals, captains, lieutenants and up, as well as some of the soldiers who opted to, were not visible to the public. Those would only show up for Trinity and Gidget... or perhaps just Trinity at the moment.

As for tracking the new being down she may have to reach out to Dave or Kodak.

"Yeah uh sorry bout my earlier outburst." Theo apologized." I need to fine-tune myself again because of this...power up. Sorry"

The being landed in a park far away from it had taken off. It had a pleasant feel to it. There was hardly any noise, Lush trees and perfect green grass. It felt...serene. It breathed in deeply, letting the earlier heavy feeling slide away. Something drawn his attention. A voice.

"Son, aren't you cold like that? You should put something on." The voice said. It turned around to see who the voice belonged to. It saw an wrinkled short old man wearing a long brown trench-coat.

"I am fine. I am not cold." The being replied. But the old man did not seem to listen. Why? "Nonsense, You are naked. Meta or not you still get cold. Now put this on!" The old man hushed and tossed the being the trench-coat. The entity obeyed as the man would to take no for an answer. It put it on and buttoned up.

"Now sit down and tell me your story." The man said kindly but he was already pushing the being towards a bench. The old man sat down next to it.

"My story?" It asked curiously.

"People don't walk around naked normally, son. Would you grant this old man his request? People's stories are all I have these days."

Deora shot a quick glance at Kerana before smiling and offering her own explanation. "I was thinking about practicing while we sat with you for a bit." She said. She wanted to comment that Heather was looking better, meaning in both health and appearance, but she decided to wait until the now-dragon-girl answered the fox-girl's question. As Deora took a seat in a nearby chair, rolling the water jug next to her without touching it, she wondered about all the animal-like people she'd met. So far there was the rat-boy who had stalked her, Kerana the fox-girl who'd befriended her, and now Heather the dragon-girl who'd they'd both taken in. She couldn't help but remember the Chinese zodiac calender her favorite buffet had on it's place mats, and she wondered when she would meet the rest of them. Though the fox wasn't technically on there, it seemed like a good fit anyway.

She realized she was letting her mind wander too far and snapped back to the conversation, knowing she had to pay attention in case something happened.
