[Orphen] Verin began...laughing. A hollow, soulless laugh that seemed to suck away all the happiness in his immediate vicinity. It made the air chill to the very touch, and the lifelessness in his eyes only made it all the more eerie. Clearly this...boy...didn't know that he had already, or would have, killed a young girl, had Orthae not stepped in. And now this mere child thought he could dispose of him? The ancient power occupying his mind presently found that incredibly amusing. The earthen wall behind him crumbled to dust, and the ice melted away. Verin would make this fight last. He wanted it to be...fun. Holding his hand out to the side, he spoke. "Invoke Maelthra Killian..." Dark wisps of smoke swirled around his hand and formed into the silhouette of a deadly looking sword. The dark smoke finished gathering and then burst outward, dissipating. Where the smoke had been, Verin now held a vicious sword with a blade made of an ebony metal. The sword radiated a dark aura that lusted for blood and battle. Verin's laugh faded, echoing eerily through the air. He raised the sword and struck the ground, unleashing a dark and powerful shockwave that tore up the earth as it roared toward them...
(Using the description and this image, piece together what his sword looks like in his current state.)
The strange girl was simply walking around, blind and deaf to everything around her. An Ipod was stationed in a sort of pocket on her jeans, the song playing, 'A New day'. She was humming the song, it echoing throughout the place. But the the laugh knocked her out of her trance, glancing up, with a face that never seemed to change as she stared at the people not that far away from her. There was no fear, simply annoyance, while Akari went to the side of Jin, "I'll help." She muttered, casting a disgusted glance at Verin. "No need to get yourself killed." Eyes glittered, and Akari's hands shifted to the headphones that were still in her ears, lifting the Volume. The tone of her voice was cool, and relaxed, a sad smile forming on your face, "At least he can't kill me." A glance was sent toward the other creature, the mockary on her face clear, "I live forever, and death can't touch me. I tried." Akari could hear him muttering, and began to cast a spell of her own Sanil-Taras-Muoshibo........... It trailed away, and the girl fell to the ground, her hands spreaded apart, and as the sword fell upon the ground, the invisble force that she had created around the people slammed against it, and signs of pain were seen upon her face. But the roar of earth was supposed to have been reflected ((here's where you if the earth slams back against Verin.))

The raging shockwave blasted against the invisible barrier, roaring and tearing at it, and was then deflected directly back the way it had came. The ground was ripped up further as the shockwave rent the ground to pieces and tore its way at Verin. It veered off at the last moment, barely missing him, and blasted away a cluster of trees. He showed no sign of shock or fear, and the great gust of air that accompanied the wave merely ruffled his hair back. When the wind had passed, his hair merely settled into place. So...another had stepped up to the plate. No matter...she would only serve to increase the body count. Verin grinned malevolently, and his eyes burned with a malicious and unholy black spark. When he spoke, which he had had yet to do, the voice was as empty as his laugh, but masked a power of ancient and apocalyptic proportions. "You believe I can't kill you? I have killed many like and unlike you..." Verin swung the deadly blade, burning another wave of dark energy through the air at the witch's barrier. "For countless millenia, I was sealed in that accursed tome..." Another swing brought forth a shockwave that consumed the air around it and dug into the ground, slamming into the witch's invisible barrier after the first. "Just waiting for some curious soul, longing for power, to find it and free me..." The sword blazed orange, and another swing set forth a burning stream of flames that licked and and clawed at the barrier. "This body is a perfect vessel; young, strong, marvelously alive with destructive power and hatred..." The sword iced over and Verin swiped the blade against the ground, which sent a long chain of tremendous spikes of ice to strike at the barrier. "And now I am able to walk this earth again...destroying all in my way!" He turned the sword upside-down and thrust the blade into the earth. Multiple cracks splayed forward from the entry and steadily widened into fissures that could only think of swallowing everything whole...

Her look was satisfied, even pleased, though such emotions are rare in moments like this, they were shown upon the girl’s face, all while listening to the soft melody which had changed from ‘A New Day’ to the Titanic. Yet the pain quickly seemed to spread over her body, this creature-person; if you call it that was more powerful then she expected. Akari’s hands were stiff, along with her head ringing, which quickly brought her hands to tune down the volume on her head-phones, glancing at the people behind her. ”You could help you know?” She snapped, in times like these, Akari was known to get irritated quickly. Eyes followed the way the ground was ripped, astonished at the power of it all, slightly stuck in awe. Her hair had fallen out its Japanese Bun, falling all around her, increasing the unlikely beauty of the young girl. While strands of it stuck to her now sweaty brow. ”No, I know you are would be able to kill me. If I was possible to be killed. It’s a sorta curse I was born with, I can’t die, period. There’s no way for me to die…none. I faced all sorts of creatures like you, for centuries, and even with the most powerful and unbeaten curses, I simply can’t die. But I can feel pain, as you can see by my appearance.” It was a voice of regret, yet strong and clear, as if she was talking to someone just off the street. ”Akeir Malentios, Asumta.” The Witch muttered, her eyes glittering. It was black magic, her favorite kind; use the creature’s power against him. The Barrier held, glowing with the light of the sun every time an attack was hit against it, but a strange darkness began to form around it, closing off the air. ”But why do you attack them?! If they put you in it, I have no right to protect them.” Akari said quietly, looking without fear, but the strength of will and power. Attacks of Elements were to come next, as the Witch began to mutter yet another spell, but she could feel her hair turning red, as it always did when she was in immense pain. ”Eleis…” The rest of the spell was unheard, but still muttered, cracked by pain, and Akari was ready to start crying from it, but the past experiences strengthened her, and a force of wind, a tornado of some sort, cracks of earth, and rain of blood—her blood…but she had the blood of all the creatures, being a shapshifter came in handy when she was losing blood. ”What do you mean by that.” Once again, by some unknown force, her voice was clear and strong, but the weakness soon came back to her. ”Body? Whose?” She still needed some answers. Thankfully there was tornado for the creature’s next attack, for she let everything loose, its weight, and the invisible barrier was lifted into the sky, with her and everyone behind her. ”Yours, but again I must ask, why them? And what happened to you to make you act like this!”

The invisible shield was soon back on the ground, but growing stronger with Akari’s own pain, it now being visible, for the girl was now too weak to keep it hidden. From anyone’s eye it would have seemed as though they were in a large soap bubble, with the colors mixing and shining when the sun hit its rays upon them. Falling from the pain, the witch stopped most of her power-other then the shield, gaining her own energy back while the boy took over the fight…for the while, at the very least. Akari’s hand went up to wipe her hair out of her eyes, which was sticking to her sweaty brow by the wind that lifted it. At the same time she was wondering whether or not to put back her headphones, a strange thing to be debating when you’re in a fight for life. Dark orbs followed the boy’s figure, noting his attacks and well…she’s still a girl and one that seems to enjoy multitasking in times like these; his looks. ”True. But so many have.” Akari’s tone was emotionless, remembering. But the fighting glint soon came back, and began to push her hand into the earth, the tickle of magic within her was enough to make her squirm with laughter, but instead she directed it toward the creature, the spell of heat, of electricity. While the boy was talking the girl glanced up, ”I’ll give you a spell of Independent Protection, that way you won’t have to stay inside here.” Of course, she began muttering the words, quick and steady, the ringing inside her ears failing to stop. ”Falies, meveb, --“ The rest were not heard. There was an inward smile at his words, but other then that no other emotion was felt. Standing up, Akari moved back and watched, moving her hands in a graceful, ballerina way, all the while muttering a spell, and at the end of the spell, her hands blew to her mouth, and blew a kiss toward the creature, while forces attacked. Ice is meant to form around it, freezing all sorts of power, while the very gentleness of it, yet the strength behind it, should blow the creature with a force not yet known. As the boy came back and mentioned his name, Akari glanced up, ”I’m Akari, now remind me, why am I helping you?” There was a hint of amusement and playful teasing in her voice, and the girl moved away, planning for another hit. Now as the creature began to talk, she replied, ”They have done nothing wrong, and the man you’re in seems—by your explanation, a complete retard, none the less. Her eyes followed his movements, before saying, ”I don’t care who you kill, but leave Rai High alone!”
