One word: Nor'easter.

Over two feet of snow in about seven hours. White-out conditions, 45 mph winds, power outages.

It's great to live in Maine. heart

I has a moneies, and I feel less like the black sheep of my family now. However, I still feel like the freak of my siblings when I catch Dad looking at me.

It was a winter to dismember
Every soul who didn't remember
To compliment Mum's hams
And eat all of their yams.
For those - 'twas a gory December!

Here I am, getting into the poetic gear. =D

It only felt like Christmas for about...six hours yesterday. Before, and now, it just feels like a normal holiday.

Isn't Christmas supposed to be a happy kind of thing?
Snow falls, children laugh, everybody sings
I used to think that all the world came out to go dancing
So why am I still here, all alone, still worried about a ring?

Hmm. Poetry is rusty. Like a squeaky gate. Only...spitting on it doesn't help.

My month of December was confusion.

And pain.

And suffering.

And uncertainty.

And crap.

...Yep. pretty much.

That reminds me, Hawkie.

Not-so-new news, jsut in case no one was aware: the X-box 360 and all of its games suck. hard.

I for one am not impressed by the real-life graphics popular now--even Twilight Princess frustrated me at times, though it was epic in many ways. But real-life graphics are not liek real life. And while they make everything seem more real, well...who plays a video game for the reality? It's like they're taking the imagination out of it. Ooh, this looks like what we see every day. Big deal. But give me graphics like Wind Waker, Mario Galaxy, and Kingdom Hearts--something NEW, something I CAN"T imagine. The real-life graphics are like setting a video game in your hometown--what's the fun in that? Make my eyes pop; make me lose myself.

And the gameplay. I have yet to see an XBox 360 game that was not a first-person, or a half-and-half. And while first-persons may be all right some of the time, definitely not ALL of the time, because you can't see s**t with stuff liek that, you get about a third of the visibility of third-person--and with the real-life graphics, it is NOT jsut like being in the game--it's like looking for something in a messy room that you've never seen before. Added to the XBOx's shitty controls--the camera stick! Honestly! And it's not even a tiny bit automatic--and it's just a headache.

And as for the system outside of the games...complex. Way too complex. Why are there so many friggin buttons? What do they all do? and HOW DO I PLAY MY GAME? If I want to listen to music, I'll buy a damn iPod. If I want to talk to twelve-year-olds with speech problems, I'll go to pretty much anywhere on the itnernet ('cept here ^^). If I want to play a game...then I'd better buy the Wii. Plus the 360 is clearly unreliable--red ring of death anyone? How often has that happened with any OTHER system? Hell, I have the oldest Nintendo system ever made sitting peacefully in my room, right across from me--works fine. Works great. The system is made to last like, three years, I'll bet, just like the ******** iPod. I am so friggin sick of low-quality cars, electronics, etc.

So all in all, I have decided, after playing multiple games on teh system and battling in vain against its stupid controls, that the Xbox 30 sucks in every way possible. THe only thing it has going for it is its looks. And the Wii, though not quite as curvy, is much prettier anyway. So epic fail, Xbox. Wii>all (except the Gamecube...I really love the gamecube. Sentimentality you know). And PS3...well, I haven't even seen one. But the PS2 is still epic, and the PS3 plays all the same games (or some of them do; I dunno) so it, too, may epic win.

/rant. Sorry guys. Had to finally get it off my chest!

A very Merry Christmahannakwanzasticemas to you all! (Wow it took me about ten minutes to figure that one out...)

Well, December here...White.

For the first time in living memory, it snowed heavily in December. I mean heavily like two feet in week. Now those of you from the central areas of North America, don't laugh. We here on the West Coast panic at two inches nevermind feet. It was awesome ('cause being the perverse person I am, I enjoy things like this that just screws everything up, or that others hater - rain, snow, wind etc. Anything that changes the status quo for awhile) I'd put up pictures, but its all melting and gross now.

Christmas was wonderful - getting the disparate parts of my clan together (and its not at all like the horrors in christmas movies...mostly) is something that doesn't happen very often, so its nicew to see everyone (plus I'm the most famous one there, with all the theatre I do, so they all know me...even if I can't remember them... redface )

Well Kirby, that rant was actually very helpful, as I'm current;y trying to decide between the two systems...I'm still not completely decided, but closer. Thanks! wink

Between PS3 and 360? Or between Wii and 360? Because if the Wii is even an option with you and you're considering the 360 then I will come through that connection and ********' slap you. GET THE WII it's cheaper adn BETTER and you get more games with it.

I like the 360. True, some of the graphics are games are almost true-life. It caters to different taste than yours. The key is an open mind. It does seem to be engineered a bit more towards guys, but hey, I like Halo and Soul Caliber as much as anyone else. heart Nintendo's got some great technology up their arsenal, but they seem to hang by the old standbys a bit too much. Link and Mario, I love you guys, but I also like to see nw chracters. Playstation is my personal favorite. It's pure opinion, of course. The games, graphics, and technology all get an A from me. The PS3 is also the cheapest blu-ray player on the market, and the picture quality on those is GREAT. Love, love, love.

Three things in life that can always spark debate: Religion, politics, and videogames. xd

I'll agree with Kirby on this one. If you're considering between Wii and 360, I'd say Wii. Especially if you haven't played any of the classics on it (and they're probably at a discounted price now as well.)

And Kirby, I had some same thoughts abotu Twilight Princess at first, thinking "Great, they're going back to a realistic style..." until I started playing it and found out it actually had it's own unique style. The character designs were goofy, the monsters were dark and crazy looking, and I doubt anyone could create a character quite like Midna.

You're rant about realistic graphics is one that goes on all the time in the gaming industry. Realistic games like Call of Duty 4 that support amazing realistic graphics are always welcome, but when a bunch of other developers try to follow up with highly detailed textures and character models, then you get a lot of stuff that looks the same.

But the 360 isn't complete crap. It has great games the Wii doesn't have, like the new Prince of Persia (with a very cool art style, actually), a great looking version of Sonic Unleashed (with a new, slightly more cartoony Sonic), Viva Pinata (cel-shaded graphics, yay!) and more I can't think of right now. Plus, it has the best online service than the other consoles by far. Hell, Nintendo's online service is almost non-existent.
