[The Night Faery]

When Rakata called the light to his hand and converted it into a small but intense fire, TJ stuck her finger directly into the center of the burning sphere, making a face as she did so. When she withdrew it, it was charred to the bone, and she grinned as the bone, skin, and nerve tissue began to regenerate into a fully-formed, fully-functional new fingertip.

"Well, energy manipulation is cool. And you're a psychic too?" she said, lifting her eyebrows. "That must be convenient, huh? I guess you already knew I was gonna smear my blood all over your open wounds, then.... Well, good. Less for me to have to explain. Here, sit up, my leg's falling asleep." She helped Rakata into a full sitting position, and brought her knees up to her chest. "You know, you could probably use someone like me around, so if you go all 'raw energy' on us again I can get close enough to do something about it."

Rakata sat with his back to the wall, as the girl next to him did the same
" i can control it most of the time, but when i get angry like i did a few minutes ago, things get a little out of hand." he told her.
"the last time this happened, i almost killed myself..." he muttered.
he heard her last statement and nodded.
"that would probably be for the best. this thing has happened 3 times. once right after they killed my family, once a few weeks later, and now today. i thought that i had finally gotten complete control over it...but when i looked at my picture of them, that day came back to me, and...well your looking at the result. im broken on the inside. im not sure if i will ever heal." he said closing his eyes. tears began running freely down his face, as he began to remember what it had been like that day...

"Wow, this runs way deeper than I thought," TJ said quietly, letting out a sigh. Despite herself, she began to feel a little guilty for jumping to conclusions about him before. Sure, her dad never came around much anymore, and her mom was usually a nervous wreck, but at least she still had them. And anyway, even with them around, she still got into fights and caused a scene practically wherever she went.

"You know, I don't think anybody ever really heals after something like that. I don't think even I'd be able to heal from it. It's like... I don't know. Sorry. I've got no idea what I'm talking about; I'm trying to be empathetic but I've never had anything like that happen to me before."

After a pause, she asked, "Do you know who did it? I mean, maybe you could get some revenge. Or closure, at least."

"the ones who were sent to do the job are dead, i killed them. but i still dont know who they were. they didnt have any identification at all. i got my revenge. but it still dindt help me any. they took from me what cant be replaced. and for the last year i havent had anyone that i could talk to openly, without getting judged, or being called a sociopath, or something of the like." he told her
the tears stopped and he was starting to regain his strength, but he still couldnt stand.
"im sorry father..." he whispered

"Rakata, I know this isn't going to stop you from feeling guilty or anything, but you didn't do your father or your family any wrong, and even if you had they loved you, and would have long since forgiven you."

She sighed again, and took up his arm, examining a gash that she hadn't noticed before. Biting open her finger once more, she mixed a drop of her blood with his and watched the wound heal up. It was easier than watching the pain move across Rakata's face. "So... you've got no idea where they came from? I mean, if it was a job, like you said, and that's what it sounds like, then someone must have hired them-- Ugh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't keep pressing this. It's just... I don't know. Just tell me if you want me to shut up, okay? I've got a habit of running my mouth off to no end when I'm not fighting."

Suddenly it dawned on her that her notebook was still in Alex's room, and she still hadn't figured out what it said. "Hey, when you're ready to move, can I show you something?"

((Ooh, I gtg-- dinnertime!!))

Alex is sitting on his bed practising. "Whats all that noise?"

"yeah, sure." replied Rakata. he then had an idea. he took the light from the lamp again, and turned it into energy in its most base from. it was pure energy, nothing else. he took it and put it into his body. it felt like he'd gotten 4 full nights worth of sleep, and all of his strength back. he got up and stretched.
"now why didnt i think of that before?"
"ok lets go see it." he said as he looked around his room. it was completely destroyed. but he seen the damage after the battle a few days ago, it was bad, but someone was able to repair it in a couple of minutes. he needed to find that person.

Alex in a flash was next to Rakata and asked him "Whats going on?"

"well, you saw what happened, now that im mostly healed up, and can move again, i figure i'll go see what the others are doing." Rakata told him

Alex rubbed the back of his head and walked with him. "I don't know were everyone else is."
 

[Kitsoenix]

"ok hold on a sec." he told him.
Rakata sent out a wave of mental energy to locate the others. he did so faster than he had hoped
"they're with Adam, and he's hurt. bad" Rakata said rushing out of the room.

"Right behind you." Alex said as he ran next to Rakata.

Rakata came to alex's door, seeing it closed, he tried to open it, but it was locked. frustrated, he kicked it in, to find them standing over Adam, who was in real bad shape.
"Alex, stay here and keep watch, im going back for my medical supplies." he said, running out of the room again
.

"Wait but...my room?" Alex just stood there. "Can't wait for holidays thats for sure." He said as he stood their on guard.

Rakata burst into his room and went into his closet, the door had been made out of oak wood, and had several deep gouges in it, but for the most part it was fine. he picked up his field first aid kit, and a couple of good length boards from his now destroyed bed, and ran back to Adam's room.
