Trinity looked to the boy and let out another sigh. It was obvious that this was going to be hard for her to talk about.
"You're right, mistake isn't the right word...when that seems so distant in the past ... it's easier to call it that.
When I started protecting Lord Saturn, I fell for him. In my home town, I was the winner of the sword fighting competition. Usually only men would compete and win matches, that is until I did. Despite the fact a girl won this competition he still accepted me as to be his captain of the royal guard.
Since the first day, his handsome qualities, his ideals, his laughter, everything about him made me think he'd may be the one. I wanted to act I wanted to tell him. Yet I knew the consequences if I acted upon those feelings was death. Even if I did act on my feelings, the men who were under my command would see it as weakness and favoritism all the respect I had to earn would be lost. So I never told him.
I still at least enjoyed the time we had together when planning invasions and defending his kingdom. Every time I lead the troops out I kept thinking how proud I'd make him. It really stung when he introduced me to the woman he loved, it took a very long time to get over that..."
She held the charm she wore around her neck delicately. "The last time I saw him, was the day I saved his son... and he gave me this. I do admit though... there are times today I regret not telling him at all..."

Rikki Tikki Travi PixelMuse "You say the book may not be enough... would it help any if you talk to me about it from time to time? I tend to get up in the crack of dawn and work out, including running some laps. I wouldn't mind the company then and there aren't many people up at that time." Alec peeked up at Trinity, then looked back down at his tiny frame. Exasperated, he puffed some of his hair away and asked, "Do I look like the sort of person that could keep up with you?"
He thought for a moment, and responded to her other question with, "I don't know if talking about it would help. It isn't really even helping now. I think I'm more confused now then I was yesterday."
Trinity simply shook her head and smiled. She placed a hand on her hip and shifted her weight, "Boy you give yourself way too little credit. You were the one who got there in the nick of time and caught that burglar and broke his arm. You were the one carrying around a bag of gold yesterday very easily. You were the one who beat the fae in their game. On top of that you weren't that far off when chasing me around this morning. So in some ways, yeah... despite your exterior, you have the potential.
As for your uncertainty, I may not know exactly how she feels about you, but one thing is quite obvious. She does enjoy your company."
