More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Not that crap again. So what? You gonna feel responsible for the rest of your life? You're only doing this out of pity because of that?"" Alexavier said. He felt angry. Pity? He doesn't need anyone's pity. He especially didn't the reason for socializing with him to be pity. Anything but that cursed word. To his dismay his hair and eye color flared up to crimson red.

"I can't" Cassandra simply replied."And I don't tend to dwell on things I can't explain"


"Hmmm not really no. I intend to come back here afterwards. Too many benefits to give up right away. Especially since I've found a place to settle down after being on the run for a month." Theonis replied."For now this is the best place to train myself."

"Pity and responsibility are two different things. I tolerate my son out of responsibility for example, even though he was something I never wanted," Annie replied. "And, maybe this strikes you as odd but I did love Shane and the very man I loved, my actions led to his very destruction."

"And, it isn't just out of responsibility I chose to associate with you," Annie continued. "If that was the case wouldn't I spend just as much energy to associate with Cassandra? Arguably what happened to her is just as much my fault as what has happened to you."

"That's true…" initially she wasn't sure about coming back. She decided to cross that bridge after the mission. She dropped through her shadow and a couple minutes later came back wearing an old uniform she had when training with her senseis. It was a black and red uniform with a black trench coat. She placed her green trench cloak, her purple armor, black pants and boots on Theonis' bed. She figured they could use it for a museum or something. "All right I've picked up a month's supply of food and water. Not saying it would take that long to find things out and get things resolved but you never know if we may get captured." She approached Theonis placed her arms on his shoulders and hands behind his neck. "Let's go then…". They dropped through their shadow.

They emerged just outside of Valhalla and started to look at the satellite view. "Hmmm sent thin from a spot with no shadows around…". She looked at the time the message was sent. "There were no shadows at all when he sent this…probably to ensure Freya wasn't on his tail while sending the message. It may be better if we fly over. Are you familiar with the Golden Hour?"

"First and last hour of sunlight of the day right? I don't see how that ....ahh the shadows. Wouldn't those be at their longest during those hours because of the sun's angle?" Theonis asked.

"She wouldn't go near you if she had a say in the matter." Alexavier responded. His hair and eyes started to change normally again.

"I'm sure she wouldn't," Annie laughed as she parked the car. "But she chooses to associate with my son, doesn't she? I was thinking of potentially pawning him off to her and disappearing."

As she turned off the car, she stretched and added, "It is funny. She avoids me and you chose to associate with me. And, you've never given a good reason to tolerate my presence. People are essentially selfish-especially you. What's in it for you?"

"First and last hour of sunlight of the day right? I don't see how that ....ahh the shadows. Wouldn't those be at their longest during those hours because of the sun's angle?" Theonis asked.

"I'm afraid it's quite the opposite. The Golden Hour is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day and it's a great time to take a photo, which is why photographers named it so. However during those times of the day a Shadow Manipulator would find themselves limited, because it's those times of the day that there aren't any shadows."

"Really? I thought that if there's a little light the rest is shadow. At least when it comes down to your powers. But okay. So he sent that text most likely from an open space during that time." Theo replied.

"I'm sure she would take better care of him. Think she already loves him more than you do. Not that it would take much." Alexavier replied. " As for me, I don't have bad blood with you. Back at the hotel you split me from her. Sort of. That's why she still can't stand you. Or maybe it's the whole kid thing. Perhaps she can sense that some how. Mother's instinct or some crap like that. My reasons are simple. You do not bore me."

Annie laughed, unbuckling her seat belt and said sounding offended, "You think I'm a bad mother?"

She shook her head and opened the car door, "And, I'm flattered that you think I'm not boring. Though, that does make me question what that means about me. It can't mean anything good. After all, you aren't on the list of candidates for 'good person of the year'."

"Neither are you. But being 'good' and being 'boring' are two different things." He simply said as he got out of the car.

"Really? I thought that if there's a little light the rest is shadow. At least when it comes down to your powers. But okay. So he sent that text most likely from an open space during that time." Theo replied.

"Yeah. I suppose I can get us to the outskirts of town but we may need to fly the rest of the way. Even though its not The Golden Hour as of yet there's not much shadow to work with at that location. I don't even see a cave near by." She started to head toward the general direction of the co-ordinates. In the back of her head she wished she had the chance to show Theonis the new skirt she got at the mall earlier. Yet this wasn't the time to think about that. She reached out for his hand and pulled him down with her.

"Neither are you. But being 'good' and being 'boring' are two different things." He simply said as he got out of the car.

She raised a brow, "I suppose I am not. Though, I still haven't figured out how I am not a boring person." She sighed, "Regardless, I'm going to my room."

"Right, have fun. Wait why were we going back again? Ah painting. Lead the way." Alexavier replied. As usual his mind seemed to be rather chaotic.

Theo let himself sink into the shadows with her. Nothing new there. But he wondered. Was there really a need to be away for a long time? With her shadow traveling she could easily return at the end of each day. Same went for supplies.

"Right, have fun. Wait why were we going back again? Ah painting. Lead the way." Alexavier replied. As usual his mind seemed to be rather chaotic.

"I was just using an excuse to keep you out of trouble," Annie admitted. "I would accuse you of being easy to manipulate, but it is almost as if you wanted to be manipulated. You have no interest in painting. Regardless of what you chose to do, I am returning to my room. I probably will paint to reduce stress, but that is just me. I am like an abandoned cat: I don't really have a purpose or a place to call home, but I'll keep going to the crazy lady's house who feeds me and expects me to be a cute kitten for lack of anything else to do."

Alexavier actually imagined her as a catgirl for a moment. Not bad.

"If you are a abandoned cat waiting for the crazy cat lady then I am a curious yet bored grizzly bear in a crowded city. Or did you just refer to me as the crazy cat lady? Can't say I ever had a cat, not a lady either." Alexavier replied trying to make sense of it. He did not deny the crazy part though. However even if it was just a ruse he would go with her to see if this painting thing was interesting or not.

"Still gonna follow you to your place see if I can paint though."
