Torumaru had noticed the lights first. "That looks like that...aurora thing they have up where it's very cold. Father says those are very pretty, when he goes fishing up north. But how are they so far south? Father says they only show up by the north..."

It was then that Torumaru heard the voice. "Monster?" Wheeling around, he began to search for the voice. "Is there someone out there? Do you need help?" He went silent for a moment, trying to sense the sound, and after a moment, he pointed one way...and then another. "It's no good. Whoever's shouting, their voice is bouncing off the trees. I can't guess where they are..." He continued to look around, hoping to spot the source quickly enough to help.

Church climbed up the tree again to get closer to the light. The further up he went, the more uneasy Church felt. He stood on a thick branch, close to the top of the tree and close enough to touch the light. Driven by curiosity and a momentary lapse in rational thought, Church thrust his hand into the light like he was about to grab something within it. Then he felt something touch his hand. It seemed small, and felt like plastic or metal; like a phone or mp3. Church leaned forward and grabbed on tight to the strange object, but he lost his footing on the branch. Church plummeted to the ground, unable to slow himself down, it seemed like he was going to die. He stared up at the light one more time, it glowed brighter than before. And like that, Church was gone. He never hit the ground, but who could tell if he was still alive or not? Church had just vanished off the face of the earth.

Carys quickly grabbed her camera and took a picture. After putting her camera away she felt the need to go toward the light, 'never a good idea in movies.' she thought to herself. She got as close to the light as she could before slowly putting her hand into it. Suddenly she felt something small and metal land on her hand before the feeling of falling over took her. 'Was there a cliff I didn't see there?" She wondered as she fell.

.. And then the sky cried, for the beauty that was left unseen.

Now in her own little world for the time being, Olivia watched as a light shot towards her. Covering her face, she felt a sudden impact right in front of her, sending snow flying every where. Uncurling, she blinked as she watched a light come up from the ground. "What the.." Watching it until it came chest high to her, she took hold of it. The sudden feeling of some sort of device made her open her hands. "What in the world is this thing?" She asked out loud, not realizing two of the group had already disappeared. "Torumaru..?" The moment she looked up, her eyes fell onto some sort of wave right in front of her. Gaping open as if wanting to swallow her whole, and that's exactly what it did. The next thing she knew she was falling, deeper and deeper, twisting and twirling. 'What's going on? .. I have to be dreaming..'

Torumaru watched as Church and Carys vanished, and was stunned as lights shot toward him and Olivia. Feeling the light's warmth in his hands, he looked down and saw an odd device. "I-I'm not sure! This is strange..." The words had escaped his mouth before he saw the tidal wave. When he saw the wave, his jaw dropped. "Okay, now I know something isn't right, there's no ocean around-" Before he finished his sentence, he felt as though the ground had been pulled out from underneath his feet, and he closed his eyes, afraid of where he might be falling.

When he opened his eyes next, he was under a completely different set of trees than he had been before. "Wh-what is this? Where am I?"

What happened? He remembered trees, many, many trees, snow, a strange yet warm light...

The feeling of falling and then...

Nothing. Just him laying back flat on a floor that was much, much more rugged than the one that he'd previously been sitting on.

The trees were gone, but he was surrounded by a kind of plant life that he never even knew existed, the sky was different, so were the scents and-...

He looked up to the sky, only find something odd about the birds that soared through them... Were they birds, their sizes and shape didn't seem to give off that impression.

"... Haaahhhh..." Something warm and putrid blew against his neck.

"Haaaaahhhh..."

What was-?

"Haaaahhhh... Haaahhhh..." It sounded like someone breathing heavily... Someone behind him...

Someone...

Someone...

"Haaahhhh..."

Church woke up in a jolting motion. Dazed and confused, he walked through the strange area filled with beautiful flowers and strange fruits. "Okay... If this is heaven, then I'm thoroughly confused."
Suddenly, a small voice from the bushes said, "Well then it's a good thing you aren't in heaven. Welcome to the digital world, buddy."
Reacting almost purely on instinct, Church grabbed a small rock and hurled it at the unknown being. "Who the hell are you?" Church asked.
"Owww." the creature came out of the bushes rubbing its head. It was a small, grey, dinosaur-looking thing with a large, red bump on its forehead. "What was that for?" the creature asked.
"Well, you snuck up on me. Blame yourself for that."
"Fair enough," the beast replied calmly, "My name is Dorumon. I'm a digimon, which is shoft for digital monster. Welcome to the digital world."

When Carys landed she hit something soft and small. A small "Ompf" was heard from under her. She quickly got up to see a small thing with a tail. She had to admit it was cute.

"I'm Nyaromon." It said.

"Carys." Carys quietly stated, picking it up. "What exactly are you." She wondered outloud,

"I'm a Digimon. We'll...we're actually called Digital Monsters but Digimon is shorter." Nyaromon stated.

"So I take it we're not in Japan anymore." Carys stated.

"What's Japan?" Nyaromon asked. All Carys could do was sigh.

Back against the ground, Olivia groaned from the pain of falling. Though oddly it felt like she had only tripped instead of fallen who knows how far. Blinking, it took her a moment to realize she felt something warm sitting on her belly. Swallowing, she slowly look down to see a brown little creature with three tiny horns on it's head. "GAH!" Screaming, she quickly pushed the creature off of her stomach and used her legs to push herself backwards. What was that thing?! Pushing herself up against a tree, she stared at the creature.

"Don't be afraid!" The small creature's eyes looked somewhat hurt. "I'm not going to hurt you!"

Frowning, Olivia took a moment to decide whether this creature was a danger or not. Sizing it up, she figured that there was nothing to fear for now, seeing how small and oddly adorable it was. With that she began to get up and make her way towards the creature. "Then what are you? Where am I? What happened?"

"I'm a digital monster, Digimon for short, and my name's Kokomon. You're in the Digital world and I have no clue, all I know is that I've been waiting for you."

"Waiting.. For.. Me?" Confused she now was standing in front of Kokomon, who jumped up into her arms. Holding the digital monster back, she felt a bit confused with everything. How could this all be real? And where was she really? She'd never heard of the Digital World before.. Unless they were talking about a computer, but there was no way they got sucked into a computer by a giant wave of water. Speaking of the others.. Where were they? Would it even be smart to call out to them? "Guys..?" She called out as quiet a yell could get.

Torumaru came wandering around a nearby tree, looking around before spotting Olivia and Kokomon. "Oh, it was you who screamed." He would have liked to say something nicer, but since he still didn't know her name, there wasn't much left for him to say. After noticing Kokomon, he muttered, "I see you've got one too, then..." Without clarifying his point, he looked over his shoulder and toward the ground, at a bouncing blue furball with a metal helmet and horns. "This is...Kopurimon. Kopurimon, these are..." After that, Torumaru trailed off, again unable to say anything, since he couldn't really call them friends and still didn't know Olivia by name.

"Kokomon! You found your partner too?" Kopurimon bounced forward energetically, stopping just in front of Olivia and Kokomon. "Hi! I'm Kopurimon, and that's my partner, Torumaru!"

He turned as quickly as he could, only to find himself stunned for a mere second before jerking his body backward in a sort of crab walk, flailing his arms and legs in an attempt to get away from the thing that loomed over him. It was a Goliath of a beast that towered over him in an awe-inspiring, yet terrifying way. It hunched over him, eyes flaring, breathing strained, and teeth bared.

He didn't know what to do. He trembled and only then did he notice how sickly it looked. Stitches ran across its entire body, its tail crooked, mane dispelled and unruly, it's teeth were dyed red and its gums pale blue. It looked like something that had been poorly put together for even the way it moved closer suggested that it could barely carry its own weight.

... Closer.

...!

"S-stay away! Stay away!" Saito yelled when the beast brought one of its enormous feet down, making the ground beneath him shake and causing his arms to give way and for him to fall flat on his back once more.

"Hharrrrrrrrhhhhhh."

"Stay away!" He flipped himself over, patting the ground in search of his medicine box.

It's not real! He chanted in his head. All he needed was his medicine and it'll all go away.

"W-where is it? Where is it?!" He wasn't given much time to look.

Screams of terror filled the air the moment that a clawed hand shot out to grab hold of the back of Saito's shirt, pulling him off of the ground to be brought face to face it the monster whose existence he still denied.

It opened its jaw and the young boy began to fear the worst. "... A. Sss...a..."

"... Wha-what?" Tears welled up in his eyes... The same voice... The same as that man.

What did this thing want?

Would it eat him?

Church heard Torumaru's voice from nearby and went to check up on him. Dorumon walked beside Church as though he had been there for years, and Church just went with it.

Blinking, Olivia couldn't help but wonder why Torumaru had mumbled after saying this is. Had he forgotten her name? Or had she even told him her name? But before she could speak up, she noticed the bouncing blue furball come up to her and her.. Digital creature. Kokomon.. Right?

"I'm so happy I did! It's so nice to finally be close to her!" Looking over at Kopurimons' partner, she smiled. "I sure hope the others have found their partners as well!" It was then that Kokomon had heard a rustle not to far from them, smiling, she looked over in the direction. "Hello! Is that you Dorimon?" She knew that he was supposed to be nearby. Hopefully it was.

"Yes it is. How've you been, Kokomon?" Dorumon asked.
"Anyone mind explaining what in the name of Monty Python's Flying Circus is going on here?"

((My lateness is even more...well, late. sweatdrop ))

"Hi Dorimon's partner! I'm Kopurimon, Torumaru's partner! Welcome to the digital world! We've been waiting for you all a long time now, so it's nice that you've finally made it!"

Torumaru stared at Kopurimon as he bounced, his face stuck between confusion and frustration. "Okay, hang on. What's going on here? Digital what? A minute ago we were at summer camp, not that I want to go back to summer camp or anything..." he muttered, looking away. However, as he looked away, he saw Olivia again, and frowned. "Right, this is gonna sound mean but I don't mean it mean, okay? I don't know any of your names, except for Church. Can we get an introduction? I'm Torumaru, Torumaru Kamimura. I'm from Urayasu, it's a fishing town in Chiba, Japan."

"I'm Kopurimon!" the bouncing ball replied cheerfully. "I dunno where Japan is, but it sounds like a fun place, if you fish there!"
