Hey,

My name's Lillian smile i'm 13, i love graphic design, and have since my dad introduced it to me at age 11. i may not be amazing at it but i'm ok. the program i use most is photoshop 7.0, and i love it, i like playing with styles and things. i'm also quite good (wow im so modest) at real life drawings of people. (mainly faces) maths never has been my strong point but i'm ok at english, drama, and art. performance arts are great. i come from australia, and thanks for accepting me into the guild!!

My name is Nick, but I'm more widely known as Slonny. I'm a 19-year old self-taught CG designer/animator looking for money for collge so I can get a degree in something (like a BDA)... As for now, I've been doing mostly scenery and lo-complexity objects (non-organic) for the past few years, but it's only been a hobby. That's why I need schoolin'! I thought that maybe here I could get to know some other GDers to learn from and share ideas. I'm also glad I got in while the guild was still relatively small.

I want to be a graphics designer, but I don't really think I'm talented enough to do so... sweatdrop

And I took a look at your website, and if you think you're not talented enough to be a graphic designer... god help us all. I'd definitely say you have a huge amount of potential 3nodding

I love designing, but I'd rather be doing illustrations for a living. I recently decided this after dealing with my current clients stressed Alot of people don't consider GD a form of art and want to dictate every single aspect, whereas with illustration you get more freedom. At least in my experience..

Anyways! I haven't taken any college classes for it, I've looked but the classes around here are useless and outdated. Someday maybe ^^;;
But I find if you have the ability to produce quality work , even if you are self taught, you can make a job of it if you are determined.

Thats really inspiring! I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a job without actual formal training... how did you go about learning things on your own?
