[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa blew out smoke from her mouth as she turned to look at him. "I'm a big girl I can do what I please." She snapped, taking the cigarette in between two fingers and pulling it from her mouth. After a moment of akward silence, Alyssa changed the subject, not wanting to go about her habit of smoking. "Have you even opened it before?"

Alyssa never listened to anyone when it came to her own health, she never cared about it. Ever since her mother started smoking when she was in her early teens Alyssa has been exposed to the nictoine. It's never been a big deal to her, and she wnders why people care so much.

Actually, I haven't opened it. Miki blinked at her skillful evasion of the track the conversation was going on. Did she not care about her health? Was she unaware of the side-effects of smoking? He didn't think so, since they printed them on the boxes it would be pretty hard to miss, but then if those were not the reasons why was she smoking? He pushed these thoughts out of his mind and saved them for later. She didn't want to talk about it so he wouldn't bring it up again.

What's your name? he asked curiously after taking a few seconds to think about what to say next.  

[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa leaned back on her free hand, putting the cigarette back into her mouth. She was in a reverie, about her mother first beginning to teach her all that she knew to become a vampire..the terror she forced upon Alyssa...it made her want to vomit.

Her mind was drawn away from the memories after she realized that he had asked a question. "Alyssa Darkwood..and yours?" She replied softly, moving her orange hair away from her face. It was odd, Alyssa had never been able to keep a conversation going with anyone, always getting irritated with the other or saying something insulting. It was her way of not wanting to get too close to the other.  

[Senquis]

I'm Miki, he told her, offering her a smile and his hand to shake. It was sort of abnormal for him to keep up a conversation too, but his reasons were far more obvious than her's. It was kind of nice to have someone to talk to instead of spending all his time to himself like he usually did.  

[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa gripped his hand and shook it, smiling a bit wider. It was nice to have a friend around, someone she could talk to at least. No matter what she told herself no one should ever be left alone. "Nice to meet you Miki." A large cloud of smoke erupted from Alyssa's lips again now revealing her tongue ring she has had since she was in her early teens. Though she knew Miki was a little distraught about her appreance, Alyssa could have cared less what he thought of her. It never mattered to her and never will.  

[Senquis]

As Alyssa blew her smoke in Miki's direction he cringed and twisted out of the handshake to cough into his hand. Ewww!! He thought to himself, forgetting for a moment that Alyssa was a telepath. The stench of cigarette smoke was disgusting to his sense of smell and distracted him from thinking about much else. Waving his hand in the air in front of his nose, Miki tried to clear the air around him. Yuck! He repeated his sentiments, Watch where you exhale please.  

[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa chuckled and blew the smoke away from him. "You really don't like me smoking do you?" This wasn expected, she hasn't met a person at Rai High who smokes. Though Alyssa has continued smoking, it has discouraged her to do so as much. Sighing, she smushed the embers into her hand, wincing as she did so, and threw it into a nearby trash-can. "I won't smoke around you anymore if that makes you feel better..I'll try to at least."  

[Senquis]

Miki's golden cat-like eyes widened as he saw Alyssa plunge the burning cigarette into the palm of her hand. He reached out instinctively to try and stop her but he was too slow, she had already put it out against her bare skin and tossed it away into a garbage can. Miki placed his hands on his knees to stop his legs from dangling/kicking over the ledge of the fountain.

. . . you could have put it out on the ledge, you know . . . He thought quietly to her. In answer to her statement he simply nodded twice to show that he approved of her choice. Yet it seemed to him that Alyssa was someone who did not need anyone's approval.  

[Raine_Falls]

"I know what I could've done..and I know what I did. I've been doing that since I started smoking." Her voice was soft and distant, for some reason, whenever her smoking habits were brought up in any conversation, she began to think of her mother..and it hurt her. Again, the conversation was heading down a path Alyssa didn't want to go down with Miki just yet. She barely knew him, yet it was like she could tell hm anything. This aggrivated Alyssa beyond recognition, so once agains eh changed the subject as if they had been leading toward this the entire time. "Why don't you talk to anyone Miki? I know you can, it's just a matter of you wanting to isn't it?"

I dunno. Miki shrugged, answering shyly to a topic that was uneasy for him to discuss as well. His legs started to kick out again despite his efforts to stop them. A nervous habit. His thoughts fell silent after this in an eerie way, like his head had suddenly become empty. It was reminiscent of the way people stopped talking when they had nothing left to say.  

[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa noticed his sudden eerie silence and took the hint quickly. It wasn't hard to see that Miki disliked that subject as much as she hated the topic of her smoking habits. She stood abruptly and looked down at Miki with a small smile. "Want to take a walk?" Her voice filled with the same uncertainty as Miki's. She didn't want to pressure him into anything, a gut feeling told her that he wasn't use to having someone such as she have a full conversation with him.

Miki blinked up at Alyssa. The girl sure did have a gift for changing the subject of a conversation. Sure, he agreed, leaning over to snatch up his violin case and hop off of the ledge he had been siting on, But where should we go? He asked with a tilt of his head as he swung the violin case over his shoulder and latched it onto his back.  

[Raine_Falls]

Alyssa shrugged, she hadn't thought of where to go exactly. She never did have a knack for making decisions right on the spot. "Wherever I don't care really." As she said this, Alyssa have a horrible craving for a cigarette but remembering her promise to Miki decided against it. Silently, Alyssa began walking slowly letting Miki think of where to go. Her braclets clanked together noisily having so many, including the emerald braclet her mother gave to Alssa before she left for Rai High. That and her necklace were her most prized possesions, and made a vow to die before someone would take them from her. It was in her blood to die for something...from her father.  

[Senquis]

Have you been to the library yet? Or the Church? Or the Music Hall? Miki interrogated her as he kept pace with her slow walking. Either of those places would be fun to go, although the Music Hall was his favourite. Miki sounded almost . . . cheerful. And it looked like he was bouncing on the spot as he walked from the elation of making a new friend so quickly after coming back to Ria.  

[Raine_Falls]

"No I haven't been anywhere besides my dorm and both courtyards. I don't even know where I go to begin my training.."Alyssa admitted, rubbing the back of her neck embarrassed. She realized how much there was to see of Ria, how many people she was entitled to meet.
"Lead on Miki."

Alyssa noticed the bounce in his step and laughed. It was nice to seem him loosen up a bit and cheerful. However, Alyssa wasn't doing so well at this paticular moment. Her hand twitched as the craving for a cigarette grew at a rapid pace. Alyssa has been smoking so long and much, that no one usually sees her without one.
