Ok I think I ask this on behalve of everyone, but Tsu and Edaniel could you please stop editting our post? I mean if there is something in it that needs to be changed it's cool of course. But you are just using it as a way to communicate, and that is quite annoying, just make your own post, you even get Gaia gold for it! I want my post to me and myself only, not as some public chatterbox...

I aplogoize if it annoys you Bean, I only edit posts so that I may add in a comment of my own without having to make a new post, which would just be a waste of roleplay space. I rarely edit posts OOC, and perhaps I do it more than I should, but atleast I don't alter what people are saying, I allways colour it my dark red preference, so it's easy to tell it's mine.
I really just use it to save room, that way you lot won't get angry at me for talking OOC too much.

*Bows* Me too... *Sigh* But sometimes we do have good reason. Like Debbie's net-nanny. Anything profound and vulgar gets blocked, so she's can't view the page. Which just means more work for us.

NetNanny type things have to be the worst kind of badness to have.

I wonder, though, just out of curiousity... Deb, do you run Internet Explorer, or a different web browser?

'Cause I'm kind of thinking this NetNanny junk may only be functional with IE based browsers, if so...

Hmm, not sure about all the technical stuff you're going no about there, Miku, but I can tell you that my computer operates on Microsoft Internet Explorer. That's for certain.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 21, 2006 3:11 pm
A computer does not run on Microsoft Internet Explorer, it runs an operating system, like Windows or Linux. Internet Explorer is a web browser, which is basicly a program that displays files on servers in a way they are supposed to be shown as defined by the main site file. But that is of no importance, if you are running Internet Explorer you should try downloading Firefox or Opera (or another, but Firefox or Opera are probably better) and see if the Net-Nanny works on them.

Firefox
Opera

On the other hand I just realised that you probably don't have admin rights on your account, so you won't be able to install them onto your PC...

Yea, yeah, if you missed the memo today, Bean-nerd, I'm a bit foggy minded and my words aren't coming out properly, please don't bite my head off because I'm ill today.

P.S. The net nanny is a blessing really, because it makes you lot have to watch your lanugage on the internet, which you should be doing anyway. This way it gives you all a good excuse to use a civil tounge as you ought to practice in your roleplaying anyway, so I wouldn't banush the net nanny even if I had the chance, especially now that I can use image search. I have no reason to get rid of the net nanny, all it does is induce good habits anyway.

First of all:

Technically, we can use all the horrid language and cursing we want. It's just going to cause you trouble. I don't plan on using ill language, but sometimes, as in real life, you just want to, very, very much.

Secondly:

If you're using Internet Explorer, not only may the 'Nanny be active, but your system isn't nearly as safeguarded from spam, spybots, viruses and the like. It is an inferior Web Browser, as proven by the Acid2 Web Browser test. In that regard, so if Mozilla FireFox, and everything else but Opera v. 9.0.

Not that FireFox isn't good, it's just as good. I'd suggest getting either FireFox or Opera (which I use, and love now) to anyone out there currently using Internet Explorer. not as a matter of avoiding NetNanny type programs, but as a matter of your systems security.

I'm sure some of you will use the old "Well I've not had a problem with it yet," and stop right there. Yet. You haven't had a problem yet. You're free to keep using IE, and risk getting junk on your PC. It's not my problem, it's not my machine. However, like I said, you'd best be safe, rather than be sorry.

In conclusion, it's up to you, NetNanny still sucks. And I'll refuse to censor myself whenever the heck I want. You're in luck, however, that I've been in remarkably good moods and spirits lately, or I wouldn't even hesitate to drop an F-Bomb.

PS. Terribly sorry to hear you've been feeling ill, Deb. My regards, and feel well soon.

*skips the whole post of Miku's and only reads the ending*

Why thankyou Miku! I love you concern... and regarding all the... stuff... you said before that... I forget what it was... something about using mean language, which you really shouldn't do unless you are aware of whom is around you, bad language on the internet isn't fair because you don't know who's viewing it and who it will effect, and how. If you use profanity in your own home, that's your own problem.

*Glares at everything dangerously* I had a half an hour of sleep last night because my friend snored. Don't even try to mess with me today. I'm ready to bite heads off.

My brother AND my father snore. My father has some medical condition (the name of which I can't remember) that now requires him to sleep with a mask on, lest his snoring kill him. Yep. That's right. Kill him. Basically, it will just clog up all the passageways to his lungs, and he'll suffocate. Like I said, I can't remember the name of it, though.

And we still love you, Tsu, even if you maim a few people. Everybody does it now and then. rofl
