Wait, Gidget is in the medbay? How the hell did that happen?

He nodded to Trinity." Yeah, I'll be fine. Go to her. I think she needs you more than anything right now."

Liv waited for Trinity to leave. She was right. It would be better without her. Liv traced a finger up from his chest to his chin." I could help you but it'll cost ya." She said with a sultry voice. There was no way he would refuse her, even if he had a girl already.

Theo took a deep breath. This was so unfair. Not to mention unreasonable Trinity already exploded when he joked about a threesome. If he were to tell her these conditions.....no telling what she'd do..

Meanwhile the Shadow Creature had gotten bored after it had whipped Freya a few times. There was no reaction for her. It felt....bored. Sinking into the shadows once more it searched out it's initial meal.

Damien had arrived too late. While he could no longer sense the creature that moved through the walls, he felt the presence of a phantom all around the motor pool and beyond.

He cautiously strode up to the pool of blood that was outlining the dying creature in front of him. He couldn't wrap his head around what he was looking at. All he knew was that it's biological presence was fading. He wanted to help, but couldn't put together how he should do that. Repairing or advancing sources came as naturally as breathing, but stopping...what was the word...bleeding was beyond his current scope of knowledge.

Perhaps there was someone who could help. He reached out mentally to what was left of the wolf creature's thoughts and gleaned a few faces. There were a few that he recognized, but only one that stood out particularly in his mind. A person who he had made a biological connection with not but a few hours ago.

Damien felt out the presence of Theonis and projected what he saw before him with a quick message.

"The creature has escaped."

Gidget's right arm had been cleaned and surgically amputated mid humerus. There was a bandage covering a sad looking stump. The healers were able to do enough to forego the need for drainage tubes, so it just lay still on a folded blanket.

She stirred slightly when Kerana hugged her, but it was Trinity's voice that forced her to bring her mind out of it's painkiller induced slumber.

Her vision was blurred at first, but she was able to make out that familiar head of hair. Her adjusting peripherals made out the reddish blob that was hugging her as Kerana.

"Huh?" she muttered. Everything around her was muffled. She was pretty sure Trinity had just asked her something. Probably what had happened. The repeated question confirmed it.

She was conscious, but slightly confused. Only bits and pieces of recent memory were available to her, so she worked with what she had.

"Richards. Brig. 'lectric monster. 'Splosion. Think thr'was a shell."

She attempted to move her right arm to reach out to her friends. Her foggy mind could make out the feeling of dull pain and discomfort, but still hadn't processed the loss of most of her arm. She grimaced and moaned, "Ow"

"Take it easy…" she placed her hand over her arm to keep her from seeing her arm for now. Based on what she told her an explosion, would cause ringing, or considering the condition, possibly near deaf. Hopefully her hearing would clear up soon, she needed to warn her, protect her from the dangers around her, until she recovered enough. She felt responsible for what happened… unlike 13 years ago, instead of fighting by her side, she was elsewhere. She had abandoned her in her time of need and now, now she wasn't sure she could provide as much protection as she used to. She hugged her and spoke,"I'm so sorry Gidget… I wasn't there…"

In the middle of their embrace a door swung opened below them causing the bed to slide down. "The hell!" She knocked her head against the headboard as they went down some sort of slide.

Kerana

Chuck was in a rush trying to find where that shadow creature was. Hensaw the blood. He immediately went back to the medbay and picked up a stretcher. He placed it next to the creature. He quickly but carefully moved Okami to the stretcher. He knew he was not a doctor but as far as he knew he was the fastest one on the scene. Making an attempt to reassure the kid,"Don't worry, she will be with the best doctors of Valhalla shortly. If you like I can come back to take you there." He lifted the stretcher with Okami without much effort.

Meanwhile as soon as the security camera captured sight of the shadow monster, a video was being created portraying Trinity attacking a fellow meta-human and not just that but her sensei.

Damien looked up at the large man and studied him without gleaning. He couldn't quite place the reason, but he felt that the man would only direct him to trouble.

It was then that Damien felt the presence of a third being. It was one that wasn't malevolent. Interesting.

He returned his attention to the man and said, "I have somewhere else to be."

Without another word he began his rapid stride toward the pool area.

Gidget could feel the sudden momentum, and in her stupor began to panic. She reached out to Trinity with her left arm and the stub that comprised her right in an attempt to make the sensation stop. "Trin. Trinity?! Whas hapnn?!"

Cassandra was mostly following Damian. Accepting that she couldn't stop him if he really wanted to. But she never left his side. This Chuck got on her bad side. She didn't like him, neither did Damian. Perhaps that is why she didn't like him.

Theonis's eyes widened at the sudden voice in his head. It sounded a bit like that kid. How the hell did he know? Did he sense it? It would make sense since he is an anomaly. The rest of the people who 'hatched' were previous victims. But not him. He was an extra. But enough about that. He said it escaped. Something doesn't escape without without reason. That means Freya or Okami was alright...right? Escaping means getting away from something else.

He was about to say something to Liv, who wasn't being shy about revealing a bit or two, before his phone rang. Kerana. Okay, how and why did she have his number?

"Hey, certainly wasn't expecting you to call" He wondered What she said next cut through those thoughts. Something happened to her. That creature? It did add up with it leaving Okami. s**t. He didn't reply with a lot." On my way." With that he hung up and gave Liv a good look.

"Normally I'd already be in bed with you. But I got Trinity so unless you can convince her of a threesome, it won't ever happen unless you catch me really drunk. Also that creature vanished. It might come after you instead since you have Trinity's power. Be on your guard. You're too pretty to die here." Theo said fast but firm before leaving. There was no running, no dashing. He launched himself forwards with incredible speed. Flying in these small corridors was a challenge but he didn't care. He needed to get to Trinity fast. Her last location was the medbay. That's where he was heading.

The Water Creature simply looked at them and cocked its head a bit. It was funny in a sense since they were inside it's body yet they spoke to what they recognized as it's head. It wasn't capable of speech nor telepathy.

Cassandra was mostly following Damian. Accepting that she couldn't stop him if he really wanted to. But she never left his side. This Chuck got on her bad side. She didn't like him, neither did Damian. Perhaps that is why she didn't like him.

Damien stopped for a moment halfway between the motorpool and the swim tanks. With what he was feeling about the creature they were approaching, he felt this would be a good time to find out something that had been eating at him for the last hour or so.

He turned and looked up at his mother and opened his mouth to speak, but found that he was having trouble forming the words.

After another moment of thought he finally asked, "What was Shane?"

Heather swallowed anxiously. The silence was making an already uneasy moment that much more tense. She slid her eyes down the "body" of the creature and noticed that it went straight into the pool.

The wheels in her head began to turn as a thought occurred to her. With a nervous chuckle she lifted her right hand out of the water and pointed down at it.

"Are we...in you? Like, is this pool of water your body?"

She was hoping a yes/no question would elicit a simple nod or shake.

Cassandra stopped when he asked. Her hair and eye color shifted to a really light yellow. A few shades above white. She was unsure. Then it became a shade of orange. Concern.

"Shane was....Gidget's brother. The beginning of a lot of things. They attempted to heal him but from what I understand, it worked but he became a living weapon. Consuming flesh and gaining the ability to absorb memories from his victims that he consumed. Your father and I hunted and fought him. In the end, he got us. Absorbed us and became Legion. After your father broke free from the restrains Shane managed to free everyone he had ever absorbed. Those were all of the cocoons you saw. What we hatched from. What you hatched from. You are his spitting image. Maybe you are him, reborn. A second chance." Cassandra said honestly, colors shifting to a shade of blue. Kissing the boy on the forehead she reassured him." But to me, you are Damian and I love you just the same.

The head nodded as two massive hands formed from the water to demonstrate. They slowly sank back into the water afterwards.

Damien took a moment to let the information sink in. Outwardly, he seemed to be handling what he was just told very well. Inwardly, he was on the verge of an existential crisis. There were many questions that rose from that short exchange, but something told him that he would have to wait for that. There was a sequence of events in play that weren't going to give him time to think. He wasn't sure how he knew this.

Damien closed his eyes and huffed in frustration before turning around and continuing his trek. Without looking at Cassandra he muttered, "I don't think it was just his victims that came from Legion."

Heather looked around at the light steam that was rising from her. She was glad the creature apparently couldn't register pain or heat. Otherwise, she thought, the non liquid metas in the pool would be in a world of trouble.

Part of her knew she should have been scared. But that's just how people would react to her. They would see something that looked like a movie monster and be afraid. The creature hadn't attacked them yet, so maybe there was a chance it was friendly. After all, it had enough sense to understand yes or no questions.

Heather gave a sideways smirk/smile. "Cool."

Gidget could feel the sudden momentum, and in her stupor began to panic. She reached out to Trinity with her left arm and the stub that comprised her right in an attempt to make the sensation stop. "Trin. Trinity?! Whas hapnn?!"

As the slide came to an end they were flung forward with a somersault she landed safely on her feet and held one arm out to prevent them from ramming into the wall. "I know it's not my best landing… but, good enough I guess. We don't have much time, guards are going to come in soon and I need to tell you a few things." She explained her plan to Gidget and because she no longer had her powers it was the only route to take. With that in mind she asked Gidget happen to have the the vile she needed for such emergencies. "I'm sorry Gidget, for screwing up royally. I should have been there with you…"

Trinity came to quickly. She knew this was one of the traps she had used on occasion to capture and in some cases interrogate. She had to act quickly. She held Gidget tightly and close to her. As the slide came to an end they were flung forward with a summersault she landed safely on her feet and held one arm out to prevent them from ramming into the wall. "I know it's not my best landing… but, good enough I guess. We don't have much time, guards are going to come in soon and I need to tell you a few things." She explained her plan to Gidget and because she no longer had her powers it was the only route to take. With that in mind Gidget happen to have the the vile she needed for such emergencies. "I'm sorry Gidget, for screwing up royally. I should have been there with you…"

Gidget slowly dusted out the mental cobwebs as Trinity explained the situation. So she had been right about Liv being able to take powers.

Then something clicked. Her eyes went wild with anger as she clenched her fists...fist? She looked down at her right shoulder to find that her arm ended shortly after. She put it aside for that second and looked to Trinity.

"Save the apology for later. We can talk about that while we get things done. That vial is back in my lab with the other chemicals. How are we supposed to get to there from here? Where is here?"

"Oh, and uh- what the f**k happened to my arm?!"

The being shook it's head. Or rather the part that it portrayed as it's head. It continued to just curiously look at them. 'Swimming' around them.

"You'll be okay." Cassandra replied softly.

So it can answer yes or no questions, which means that it is capable of understanding them. It just isn't capable of speech.

None the less, Heather found the creature amusing and somewhat cute. She offered her hand to the creature and said, "I'm Heather. Do you have a name?"

Damien followed the energy signature the creature was giving off. It made it easy to navigate the doors and passageways in the swimming area. Any doors that were locked were easily bypassed by physical means.

He was somewhat surprised at how easy it was to force open doors with his bare hands. He had known about his psychic potential from the moment he breathed, and his knowledge of metahuman powers and how to grow them came shortly thereafter. The strength must be an inheritance from Mother, he thought.

He entered the pool area and spotted the creature with two young ladies conversing within it's structure. He recognized the one with wings as the girl he had helped earlier. He was relieved to see that the creature had not acted on impulse the way it's electric and shadow siblings had.

Feeling the need to answer Heather's question, he explained, "It doesn't have a name. It is a construct that has yet to establish an identity."

Heather instictively covered herself at the sound of Damien's voice. "What the hell, kid?!" she shouted.

"You can't just...oh hey, it's you!" Her tone shifted to one that sounded pleased. Which she was.

"I never got a chance to thank you for saving my life."

But Damien was paying little attention to Heather. His eyes were studying the creature just as it had been studying Heather and Sara. He made no threatening move, and knew that telepathic communication was a waste of energy. He would wait for it to make the first move.
