Rikki Tikki Travi Gidget slowly dusted out the mental cobwebs as Trinity explained the situation. So she had been right about Liv being able to take powers.
Then something clicked. Her eyes went wild with anger as she clenched her fists...fist? She looked down at her right shoulder to find that her arm ended shortly after. She put it aside for that second and looked to Trinity.
"Save the apology for later. We can talk about that while we get things done. That vial is back in my lab with the other chemicals. How are we supposed to get to there from here? Where is here?"
"Oh, and uh- what the f**k happened to my arm?!"
"Your arm... I'm not entirely clear on the details myself..." she thought of the words she brought up when she had posed the question to her earlier.
Flashback "Richards. Brig. 'lectric monster. 'Splosion. Think thr'was a shell."
She muttered the words she had heard earlier out loud. "I tried to find out earlier. You mentioned Richards, which I bet was Chuck Richards. The Brig... an electric monster, which if it's anything like shadow beast I've confronted today, you're lucky to have survived. You mentioned and explosion and that was probably what happened to your arm. You also mentioned a shell? I'm not sure what that had to do with the rest of it. I'm guessing... that Chuck Richards had something to do with it considering how he's pulling the ropes these days."
"What are these new creatures he has aquired? How are we supposed to defeat them? Okami was battling the Shadow Monster and she was barely keeping up... I wanted to stay and help but.. without my power, I would just be in the way." her eyes sadden as she looked down she hoped Okami was ok it looked like a one sided battle. She really missed her power, she even miss her connection with her ancestor... She really wished things were back to the way they were. Trinity took a deep breath and and put it aside for now.
"We're in a holding area for interrogation or to be taken to a cell. The mechanism was meant to bring down one person at a time which is why I needed to get us off the bed before we landed. I didn't want to get you even more injured than you already are."
"As for the lab... I don't think we can get there from here. I was hoping you had it on you but... considering regular medical procedures, I guess it's less than likely you have it somewhere else on you. heh... so much for that plan." She folded her arms and felt something hard on her side. She narrowed her eyes "Hmm?" she checked her hidden pocket and found a vile. It wasn't the vile that Gidget made but it was a similar vile that Teshoumaru and Freya had given her. It was half drunken because she had used it on a mission long ago, while training with them. "Well what do you know... we may not need to stop by your lab after all. Unfortunately unlike yours the full thing only last 6 hours, at the time I only needed to use it for 3 hours so I only used half. I just need to figure out the right time to do it."
"I guess the plan is back on." she said as she hid the vile once more. "When the guards come just play along. Something tells me that Chuck wants to settle the grudge he has with me since I earned the role of Head of Security. I'm guessing he wants some sort of confrontation with me, considering he's gone through the trouble of capturing the both of us."
The door opened and the guards grabbed Gidget and Trinity and take them to Cell 33C. |

The door opened and the guards grabbed Gidget and Trinity and take them to Cell 33C.
Gidget's memories slowly began to build upon the clues being provided by Trinity. She recalled waking up in the hold after speaking with Chuck, the lightning creature, Ako trying to stop it, and then the explosion that came after the creature had ensnared them.
She held her stump unconsciously. She worried about Ako and Deora, but she knew there would be no time for that right now. She couldn't do anything to help them from where she was.
After Trinity found the vial and stated their plan of action, Gidget opened her mouth to ask about the situation with Freya and Teshoumaru. But before she could utter a syllable the guards were upon them.
On the way to the brig Gidget made sure to make her objections known to the guards. About how she may not be in control but she signs their paychecks, and also that if they had done their jobs properly she would still have her arm.
Once they were in the cell she sat herself down, still considerably tired from her recent trauma. She looked over to Trinity and struggled to ask something that had come to mind during the walk.
She bit her bottom lip and just said the first thing that came to mind. "The last time we spoke, on phone, you made it seem like I was never going to see you again. I'd brushed it off, thinking there's no way you'd abandon me like that. Now that I've had a little time to think about it, I get the feeling that's exactly what you were planning." |

PixelMuse Trinity took a deep breath and thought how to answer this. She couldn't simply say that her memories are now messed up and she couldn't cope with that. Which would be the truth. Yet she wanted to somehow respect her wish to forget that she was a machine. "I couldn't handle being the Head of Security and Head of Valhalla at the same time. Chuck seemed to be striving for that position since I first became Head of Security. I thought you would be in good hands with him and for once, leaving me to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. Not have to worry about saving someone every five minutes. So yeah that originally was the plan… and I thought you were in good hands, considering that he matched me in qualifications, in other tests and it was a very close fight for the title." "Then while Theonis and I were trying to help Teshoumaru rescue Freya, we found that he was working for Daedalous. When I realized this I…" she looked Gidget square in the eyes, "I had to come back." Although it wasn't the core truth it had a lot of other truths in it. The whole reason she found out what happened to her memory in the first place was because she wanted to tell her handling both positions was too much for her.
Gidget listened intently as Trinity spoke. She nodded in understanding, but her brow creased as something else nagged at her. She knew now wasn't the time to really bring up that sort of thing, but then again there may not be another chance afterwards.
PixelMuse "There's something I'm trying to remember about that day I met her and Deora. Were you with me that day or was that the doppelgänger?"
"You told me all of that when we last spoke. But that last thing you asked me, about whether or not it was me or Gadget that was with you, what prompted that? And you sounded really hurt after I-"
Her eyes widened and her pupils dilated with the heavy epiphany that she had just come to. Her eyes teared up and her face turned red all at once. She had been so stupid.
"That was it, wasn't it? You weren't coming back because you thought you had lost your friend?" |

"No...it wasn't because of that..." She sighed to herself and thought about the situation. Should she really know? On the one hand she may not get another chance to tell her, if things go wrong. On the other hand, should she leave her with things that she wanted to forget? Gidget would probably brush it off in denial at first. But when she does discover the truth... would she simply want to forget again? If Trinity didn't tell her now wouldn't she find out eventually? No... the best way to handle it is for her to find the truth herself.
"I can't tell you the real reason, I've been walking on eggshells because I'm afraid of triggering memories that Tom had addressed. You wanted them gone, and I can understand why but... to continue being cautious of how I mention certain events for fear of causing you to remember what you had rewritten. Is.. too much... I can't continue to work like that and I don't want to cause you pain and so that's why I left."
"If you want me to stick around for good, you're going to have to confront what Tom has hidden from you at your request and learn to cope with it. Otherwise, when things are settled here, I'm gone."
"I can't be the Head of Security that Valhalla needs... not like this. If Chuck and I were to do that fight again... he'd wi-" her eyes narrowed. The man had a heavy grudge since that day. He'd always semi-joked about simply letting him take over the position or a rematch for the position over the years. "I think that's what he wants... a rematch... I'm not sure if he knows that I no longer have my power. I might be able to use that to my advantage at least for a short while."
She thought by letting him be her backup she would subdue his grudge but apparently. Any sick day, or away mission she went on he was preparing, bringing in other Daedalous agents. That's why the rumor and videos easily popped up so quickly. Heck by beating him a few years ago, probably delayed the plan.

So that was it. She had awoken earlier thinking she had just taken a nap. She had asked Tom to do something to her memories. Yet what Trinity said didn't make any sense. Anytime Gidget tried to think back past last week, all she could remember was...
Gidget stood up and approached Trinity with her eyes drawn down and her hair drawing mousy brown curtains over her face. "Trinity." she whispered.
She drew her eyes up and looked her friend in the eyes. Her jaw was clenched, but shaking. Tears had fallen while her gaze had been down.
"I don't remember what I asked Tom to do, but I do know this. The memories I have of the last thirteen years are the memories given to me from Gadget. From the moment I woke up to find a hole in my chest, to the moment I looked down at my flesh and blood self. I not only remember all that, but I have feelings attributed to those memories."
"If I asked Tom to do anything, it was to remove the pockets of consciousness while I was in suspended animation, and to give my memories from Gadget proper emotion so they'd be mine."
She dropped her head down on Trinity's shoulder and embraced her with both left arm and right stub. "You're the big sister I always wanted, Trinity. I'd never erase you, and you don't have to treat me like a porcelain doll anymore." she huffed.
"And I know you'll beat Chuck. You may not have your power anymore, but you're still the best defense we have."
