exclaim ELITISM WARNING!
Sometimes it's hard to be "dai fong" but you might have to. Analyze how much of a "cost" it will be to lose her as an "associate." In my situation, I often weigh cost vs benefit when deciding if someone is worthwhile as a friend or not.
Decide for yourself if she (and her followers) are worth it. Try to put a value to everything good (social status, friend count, etc.) and everything bad (stress, frustration, grudges, etc.).
Do the math and if the answer is negative then... when and if you are ready, simply approach her and say, "Look, I don't want to be fake and I've noticed you don't like me. That's fine. The feeling is more than mutual. I don't want to be your friend and I know you don't want to be mine. Let's call it neutral and do our own thing. Go sit with your other friends." (Rework it as you see fit, but yeah... it gets the job done.)
I've put people in the backrow all my life when I feel that they aren't worth being around. It saves me grief, I'm not being fake and most importantly it doesn't hinder my goals.
"It's very lonely at the top, but it helps to look down upon all those people that you stepped on to get there." - Anonymous
EDIT: You better believe I do this on Gaia all the time. twisted

magicvials Niphredil Ithilmir I dunno.. I don't really agree with Charlie's way of evaluating friends and how much benefit they can bring to you etc. I find that platonic love is much like romantic love in that it's blind and unreasonable; once I like someone as a friend I will always like them as a friend.. not saying I don't recognise their faults and stuff, but I try to make them see their faults and overcome them.. Sorry, got a bit carried away~ meh what do you expect. it is Charlie after all. But I gotta say Charlie's way is more realistic. It's a step on or be stepped on world. I perferr to step on. Though I get the feeling people are sorta stepping on me... maybe I'm just paranoid. @t0sh: hmm.. menustral pills... not good enough... go get her a hooker. sounds like she needs to be laid. lol. jkz. The force is strong with this one. Anywho, I've been called a cynic (among many things) but I much prefer the term realist. I'm glad you agree. twisted

I'm finished studying... time for rant about school and life!
For those that don't know, I have an exam tommorow in Hydrology. Sadly, I'm not ready in the least. Upon reflecting on the material that I've been cramming for the past oh... two-days now, I had a major epiphany. Life used to be simple.
In high-school, describing solar energy hitting the Earth was as simple as saying "incoming short-wave energy is mostly absorbed and converted into outgoing long-wave energy"... but in university that just doesn't cut it.
"It's not difficult or abstract," says the prof, "just memorize and understand the 'solar energy balance equation'." Well... without a PhD and a life-time of research to fall back on, it's not so easy:

... and to think that equation above basically describes my little blurb about energy. To think that people believe that the enviromental sciences are easy. Ha!
The burden of knowledge -- perhaps, but it's not likely this will ever be useful once if I get a job.
Anyways, I am so pwned for my exam tommorow. sweatdrop
For those of you looking forward to university... enjoy. You have no idea what you're getting yourselves into. rolleyes

Remind me never to take whatever course that is. o_O''' sweatdrop Hydrology.
