More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Good to see you up and running too. Okami chose to fight that thing. Shadows are your territory, not mine." Theo stopped talking as something hit him." You...don't know what happened, do you?"

"Nope." Freya said very matter of factly. "The two of us don't share memories. All I know is that she got herself stabbed. A lot. Everywhere. The last thing I remember is leaving you on the roof."

She looked over at Gidget and smiled warmly.

"Well if it isn't the metal munchkin. You went and got all squishy! How long has it been?"

Gidget giggled. "Almost ten years. You were busy with Trinity."

"Oh yeeeeeeah. Wow, it's hard to gauge time when you're nearly immortal. By the way, I think you have something for me?"

The gear head fidgeted for a moment. "Are you sure about this? Not all powers are beneficial. You could end up in a water habitat, or you could go totally insane."

Freya rolled her eyes and stuck out her hand. "I know I know. Look, just hand me the damn rock before Trinity comes back and tries to talk me out of it again."

Alec remained silent through the whole ordeal. He was glad to see that no one was seeking his clairvoyance for whatever was going on.

That was until he saw the concern in Kerana's eyes. He greatly appreciated her kindness toward him by not asking outright. For her, he would do absolutely anything.

"You wanna know, don't you? What would happen if you went with them and subsequently what they are going to deal with?"

"Let's just say there was a shadow creature was a whole lot stronger than Ookami." Theo said briefly.

He was hesitant to let her use that shard. Mostly because it was random.

"Let's just hope it doesn't turn you into a rock or something."He added somewhat as a joke in something he knew was a vain attempt to scare her.

Trinity led Liv to the entrance of Gidget's robotics lab. She punched in the code and as soon as the doors were closed behind them she started explained what happened. "I guess it happened after we departed from visiting her this morning. Moments later a gaurd heard something it looked like she was dragged into the shadows against her will. I took a closer look at the scene and came across Dusk. A shadow ancient, who plans to take out the Grand Master of the Soichi Clan, Freya's and Teshomaru's sister. The thing is they've blocked shadow passage on the island they're on. Dusk's ticket is Heather, he's betting on the clan worshipping her dragon form, a distraction which he makes preparations to bring in an army."

"Here's where you come in. I hope to get there with Freya before he does and get Heather home safely. It's on an island floating above the Bermuda Triangle. Are you up to the task?"

"Wowowow hold up. I spent a month in fear of shadows. A month of hearing voices of that ******** constantly whispering to me. I haven't even slept for a month! And now you want me to go to a place where he is going to? I am thankful for helping me get rid of that power of yours and all but this?" Liv said as she grew more desperate as she went on. That month was still fresh in her mind. After all..it was only till this morning that it all stopped.

"I know. I know this is asking a lot of you especially after the month you've had. Mine has been rather rough as well. I had been constantly fighting off Shade to prevent myself from shifting, mentally exhausting and led to many sleepless nights running it off." She sighed to herself. "Regardless, even though I'm tired, I can not rest until Heather is back home safe. I should hope you feel the same way. If anything, all I ask is for a one way trip down there you don't need to stay, and I can figure out a way back."

As much as she wished Liv would simply take an order, she isn't a soldier. She is a citizen and Valhala is a place of choices, good and bad.

"At least you slept..." Liv mumbled. She really wanted to shrug it off and not care about it all. But she couldn't. Despite her having no problems killing strangers and taking their powers, letting someone she knew die was a different thing.

After taking a deep breathe she sighed." Fine, I'll take you there. But that's it."

Theo nodded. Good, that took care of that problem.

"If I despised you....you wouldn't be here....in one piece." Alexavier said as he looked him straight in the eyes. I'm smart enough to know you ain't Shane. And our hatred for him was instilled into us. We were to hunt him down and kill him. He is dead now so there's no point to kill stuff that looks like him. And also....don't let your mom catch you saying that. "

Damien realized that his father was right. He could also tell that Alexavier was beginning to tire of his questions. Perhaps it was time to go do something else. Something that he had been thinking about for a few days.

"You've given me a bit to think about. For now, I think I will attempt to contact the creature. Open up a line of dialogue. I can feel him, and I know he can feel me. Perhaps there is a special bond between the two of us."

Freya made a face that suggested that things may not go so well.

"Tchyeeeeaaa, that might not be so easy. There was a reason I suggested a plane. While true that they can't stop blinking into the city, which I am guessing this young lady is capable of, they can/will divert it. Where, I cannot say. Most likely we will be in a prison. Blinking out of that will be impossible until I can talk to either my sister or her husband."

"So yea we wont die, but girly here wont be leaving right away. If she's okay with that, then let's get me powered up. Gidget, the meteor please."

Gidget hesitated at first, but she walked over to the locker that housed the meteor fragments she worked with. The locker was heavily secured. It took a finger print scan, retina scan, and vocal password to open the lock.

A press of her thumb, a scan of her eyes, and the saying of "April showers." later, the bolts and clasps holding the locker closed released and revealed their glowing cargo.

Gidget reached out and grasped one with her right hand, not wanting to expose herself to more direct contact to the thing. She turned and walked it over to Freya.

Freya took it and held it like a fresh egg. Something that was delicate and could easily break. It glowed gently in her hand. And then...

"...Is that it? Am I meta now? I don't feel any different."

Kerana

Kerana shook her head in response to Alec's question. Though she wanted to know, she felt she didn't need to know. Sometimes she wished she wasn't so easy to read but that was the way she is.

"Alec, I appreciate the offer, and yes I admit I am curious but, I feel like I don't really need to know. I'm at ease knowing that Trinity and Liv are on it. So please don't strain yourself over this Alec. I'd rather have you better and back on your feet than finding out what they're up against. Surely it would grant me nightmares, if I find out."

"At what point do we get a tad too nosey with this ability of yours? Yes I'm worried about Heather but I feel she's in good hands." She held his hand and rubbed his fingers.

Alec had to immediately fight back his power. He had been ready to use it, but he wanted to honor Kerana's request. He swallowed hard and fought back the surge of visions.

He squeezed her hand back and smiled. "Okay. But if you change your mind, let me know. It's okay if it's you. I'll do anything for you."

"Maybe that bond is between all of us who came out of Legion. Who knows? I ain't telling Cass so that's up to you kid." He wasn't going to risk her wrath.

"How the hell can they stop me from leaving? If there's light, it's mine to use and control." Liv said incredulously. Nothing would stop her if she wanted to leave. Besides...it's not like that was her only power.

Theo wondered about that too. There were ways to bend light but those weren't easy. And from what he knew Liv could freely manipulate and control Light. Even create it!

"It depends from person to person. If you don't physically change it could be difficult to find out what you can do. The trigger is often....accidental. I know mine was. Even then it can take a while before you know how to properly use it. So I wouldn't count on using it freely if you were to fight. But hey, you might get lucky and get shadow again. Lately I stopped getting surprised at all the s**t that goes on in a Meta's life"
