Dawn's trembling ceased. She let out a sigh of relief and nestled as closely as she could to her little sister.

"I..know. Be...happy Liv. I...love......you...t-"

She was cut off mid sentence as the enchantment that had kept her undead ceased to work. She went limp in Liv's arms. Her time dead began to catch up as she started to slowly decompose, dry, and turn to dust.

Overhead, the beastmaster was forcing Heather to take sweeping dives across the island while torching everything they passed over.

Heather felt week, frustrated, guilty, angry, and regretful all at once. The desire to close her eyes and sleep was strong, but the little jerk on her back wouldn't allow her to.

It ended abrupt. And before Liv was fully aware of it, her sister was gone. Like dust in the wind. So she just sat there on the ground, staring at her hands. Hands that killed her sister, hands that held her dying sister, hands that killed her sister again. Hands that once more held her corpse. A few minutes passed like that until she got up. Silently she turned spectral and rose above the battlefield. She took out whatever she could see with vicious blasts of light before her anger took over.

No longer was her a pure white but it turned into a raging red. She saw Heather still flying around with that beastmaster on her back. All alone. Perfect. She vanished with a dark red flash and reappeared behind the man. There would be no interruptions this time. Her hand shot out to the mans neck. This drain would be different. Now she wanted to kill....she wanted to inflict pain.

The beastmaster turned around at the last moment. He didn't even have time to register before he was blinded by a red light and lifted off of the back of the dragon. He was actually quite short, only about four and a half feet tall. His legs flailed in the air as he struggled to breath.

He clawed at Liv's hands violently. His thrashing caused the mask he was wearing to shift and fall off.

The beastmaster was a boy. Perhaps no more than thirteen or fourteen years old, barely old enough to start shaving. His eyes were wild and feral. He didn't show fear, only fury. It was the last act of an animal that had been backed into a corner.

The Normal Liv would have at least pitied the boy. And winced at the pain of him clawing away at her hand. But not this Liv. This version of her saw an enemy that was with Dusk. The man who brought her sister back from the dead only to shake her up. To stall her. To mess with her.

Liv Drained the boy. That same icey feeling she usually get's didn't feel so bad this time. Perhaps because this was out of rage. She Drained everything she could out of the boy. Afterwards she stared at him with cold eyes and threw him off Heather.

She didn't command Heather to land only suggested it.

The beastmaster went limp and unconscious. His body plummeted to the ground somewhere in the military district, lost in the smoke and fire he had commanded Heather to make.

Heather could smell Liv on her back. The sensation of being back under her own control while in the condition she was in felt like having a rug pulled out from under her feet. It was hard for her to focus on a safe spot to land and keep herself aloft at the same time. In fact, this was the first time she had flown on her own.

There were still soldiers firing at her while she made her unsteady descent. She opted to drop into the forests outside of the city. She found a clearing just large enough for her to make a rough landing.

She didn't even try to stand. She fell flat on her stomach and dropped her massive wings to the side. Her neck rolled down, causing her head to land harshly on the cold ground.

She struggled to keep her eyes open. She knew that falling asleep now would be a bad idea. Instead she focused on trying to speak in this completely bestial form.

Her voice came out rough at first, but it take long for her to sound like Heather would sound if she were a dragon.

"Hrrr. Grrraaar. Rrriiiiifff. Riiiv."

She took a deep breath and tried once more.

"Liv?"

She needed to do something about those soldiers if they kept it up. Liv held on as they made their descent. Especially when they landed. Quickly she jumped off and dashed to where Heather's head lay.

"I'm here girl. Do you need me to take you back? Sorry about the lasers. I h oped you could take it...." Liv said but there wasn't a lot of emotion in her voice. Her tear streaked face and bloodshot eyes didn't help either. Good thing she wasn't wearing any make up. It would have be a disaster.

"Well, for one teleporting is out of the question here... unless I go to the surface then drop down again. Regardless, she'd see me going to the surface."

"She seems to know where we are, which tells me she has good eye sight. But the question is how good? I can summon up some shadow look-alikes of us to draw away fire... hopefully we can get closer after that. Though now I'm not sure how much damage I can do if her whole body is made of metal, perhaps even mithril as well."

"Thoughts?"

The bullets kept flying chipping away at the remaining cover they had.

Heather shook her massive head slightly and grunted, "I can deal with the pain. That little p***k made me kill all those people. Made me help that a*****e they called Dusk. I could here everything they said on my back. I heard what Dusk did to you. To your sister. I'm so sorry."

Some steam shot out from the hollow spikes on her back. She sighed with some relief. Her body felt a little bit cooler now.

"I want to help, but I can barely move. What I wouldn't give for a healer." she lamented.

Sill thought silently for a second and looked around. From their point in the shadow realm, she looked to the sky and found that there wasn't a large dragon shaped negative floating around.

"Liv must have taken out the beastmaster. But we wont be able to reach Rydia or Freya with her shooting at us. Freya can hit very hard, and Rydia's power can puncture anything."

"I was just thinking, she can't be completely made of metal. At least, I hope not. Maybe her brain is still made of flesh. If we could hit her in the head hard enough, we might be able to knock her out."
She suggested.

As Sill pointed out that Liv may have taken care of the beastmaster and Heather, Finally something good… Which in turn made her think of Freya and the others. Then Sill pointed that they were exactly what they need for the situation. But how to get them here. "They are in a blood bubble is there something we can do to draw them here?"

Liv nodded. " Thanks. You just stay here and rest. I'll kick his a**. There are a bunch of dragon fanatics around so if they find you they'd probably start worshiping you. So you can have some fun with that I guess." Liv responded.

Sill shook her head. "No, but Freya should be able to find us. She should be able to break the bubble if she concentrates. That will free up the others to defend the city, and us to kill the necromancer."

"We just need to hold out. I have a plan, but I'm going to need you to close the gap with that woman as soon as you can."
she requested.

Without waiting for a response, Sill disappeared in a puff of black smoke only to reappear only a few feet away.

"Hey you!" she taunted.

Heather began to protest before she tried to move again and found that she wasn't going anywhere for a while.

She sighed, "Alright. I hope I didn't kill them too. I might just change and hide until I'm better. I've never been the type to like attention."

"Ah, I almost forgot. That Dusk guy said he had something else prepared for you if you actually managed to survive. He didn't say what, but be careful."

Liv made an audible sigh. Go figure.

"Right...why did I expect anything less than more crap from him? I'll let you know when it's safe." With that she blinked away. She wondered if Freya and the rest knew the Beastmaster was no more.

Finding Dusk...or rather Eclipse..shouldn't be hard. Just follow the trail of bodies.

She knew the drill. As soon as the shooter focused on Sill she moved from one pile of rubble to the next. She kept nearing her with every chance she got. Keeping an eye on the shooter and Sill as she went. She got into position, drew her daggers that were stored in her boots and was ready to strike.

When the moment came she leaped forward with a kick to the back. Then slashed upward with one dagger then the other. Followed by a kick toward the chin. She put everything in her every move, but she knew she could not make the damage, because of the mithril.
