Man is condemned to be free. ~Jean-Paul Sartre

Aww, that sucks, about the broken arm...what an awful reason to not get a chance. I can imagine I'd be crushed if I lost my voice before an audition or something...as it is, I was sick and sleepy one year during honour choir auditions, and that's the year I ended up being voiced as an alto, because my range was so groggy and low... xD but it would suck to not even be physically able to try out.

Oh, the introduction, well...here goes...Hi, my name is Victor von Grim (actually Martin, but my friends associate me with Death, so ok...)...I'm still in high school, and I am lead flutist of our section.....I'm also a pianist as of...................5/23/2000...And I'm an aspiring Neo-Classic composer, with a hopeful premiere of my Symphony No. 1, Op. 10 at my graduation in 2010....Oh, and I'm a HUGE fan of Shostakovich......So yeah, that's pretty much it...

Heyy
I'm Wezz. I Play Piano. I am self Taught at it, I've been playing Since Christmas 2007. Although! I'm a Classical Noob. I'm quite a good pianist, I really hope that doesn't sound Arragant. Just to let you know what I can play:

Requiem For A Dream (I Added and Removed Notes From it Also)
Liebestraum
Comptine D'un Autre Ete
Halloween Theme
(Little Part of) Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
Clubbed To Death (Rob Dougan)
...

I tend to forget what I know. redface

I wish to play Violin in Future, Hoping to get one this upcoming Christmas.
I attempted to play guitar, but I don't like how it feels on my fingers and I couldn't get used to it

I go to Astley Sports College, Manchester, United Kingdom.

My Musical Dreams, have been trashed and scrapped. It seems that I can't get a GCSE for Music Class. Which, has ruined school for me. I don't know what to do, would I be able to take the course in College, and I want to be a Popular Pianist. I want to bring Classical Music to the eyes of average people, and for them to say it's exciting and Fun, rather than boring and slow. But, I can't do that.
If anyone has any Idea's about how I can get Educated with Music, please please let me know.

Thank you for letting me Join the Guild.
Wezzle.

Man is condemned to be free. ~Jean-Paul Sartre

Honestly, like 90% of what I learned in music I learned outside of school - actually, right now I've been trying to go through the tutorials on Teoría, which have been quite useful for my admittedly subpar chord analysis skills. I'm sure you can find plenty of resources online that can mirror a lot of what you can learn in a class. Also, there are plenty of community ensembles, if you're interested in ensemble music, or I'm sure you can find a private teacher for nearly any instrument if you try hard enough. There's a lot you can learn outside of school, and at any rate it's probably best to develop a strong foundation in your primary instrument before applying to a music school anyway, since you do have to audition and all that...

Well I just got my Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Music Education from Hope College in Holland, MI. I've been playing cello for 11 years now, and percussion (mostly mallets though I have also played marching percussion and toys as well) for the past 6. I instruct the front ensemble for a local high school, and i'm currently working on finding a full-time teaching gig.

Hello guys, I'm Isake-kun. I play the French Horn, and I'm still in high school.. Darn school .. D:< Nonetheless, I do participate in my city Youth Symphony Orchestra, and take lessons from one of Texas' most notable horn professors (Omg lessons are so darn expensive, I think I'm wasting money.) O: But... you do what you gotta do to be the best you can be!

Hey people, I didn't even realize I was a member until I was invited on PM. Hehe xp

I'm 22 and I'm from Denmark. I pretty much only listen to classical music these days. My field of expertise is design and visual arts but this stuff is a side hobby to me. A lifestyle.

Instrument wise I picked up the accordion because of Yann Tiersen's music. It's great and uplifting, or, emotion evoking ;D

But then I realized that classical music can be played on the accordion too and that virtuosi exist who do so. This was after seeing a guy in New Zealand on YouTube playing Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D minor, BWV 656. I got sucked into it.

It is now my hobby project to reach a skill level where I can play Baroque works on the accordion. So awesome biggrin

Yeah, I started out with listening to his works for piano at first. Extremely good music. It made me feel like leaving the "mainstream music" scene because I definitely thought something higher was out there.

My name is Arina Hime. This'll be my 5th year in music. I've played a wide variety of instruments, including the violin, clarinet, piccolo, and bassoon, but I've stuck with flute for the past 2 years. I'm a freshman in high school and I really want to be 1st chair this year, too. I also love drawing and all sorts of Japanese stuff.

Hello,

reading the indroductions so far, i got the impression, many of you are really professional. I am not. Nevertheless, music isn't just a hobby to me, it's a passion.

I like renaissance and early baroque music most (specially Scheidt, Praetorius, Tallis, Dowland, Byrd, Monteverdi, Schütz) but I also love music from the last half of 19th century (specially Mendelsohn-Bartholdy, Wagner, Mahler).

I'm singing in a choir (tenor) and playing baritone (euphonium). After finishing my studies, I want to learn trombone - a friend can sell me a saqueboute for a very small price... wink
And: Maybe it's possible to learn lute sometime...

There's a guy on youtube who recorded Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor on a keyboard accordion, absolutely freakish. You should check it out.

Hi I'm lillyblossom19. You can call what you want. Just not honey. I play the violin. I've played for 9 years now. There isn't an orchestra at my school because they didn't really know that people play string instruments. Now theres a strings group and it sucks because theres only 3 people and the teacher is a greenhorn. well I also like to play fiddle music after I play bach and mozart for about an hour or two. My favorit music though is Spring by Valdi.
