Geoff glanced over at Serenus, a sly grin crossing his face. "Well, if you're willing to give me that poison orally, I might consider giving it a shot," he said, heading into the primary building. "And don't try to deny that you haven't thought of it either, I've got that undeniable roguish charm that I know people like you just eat up."
He chuckled quietly as he entered the building, the spicy, sweet smells from the dining hall at last reaching his nose. Stopping, he breathed deep and took a long whiff of the smell. "Gotta admit, it actually smells alright," he said. "Maybe this won't be so bad after all."

Alu watched and waited patiently while the other students and faculty flooded the room. He had lost track of Sylvir once the crowd started moving again, but noticed the tall youth when he headed up the stairs to the entrance of the primary building. Alu started to follow, but stopped when he reached the steps. The spicy and sweet smells that came from within intrigued him and he was curious to try the different foods, but one very familiar scent caught him. Gotra Leaf...
The scent came to him with a wash of homesickness. He missed his people, missed his home in the desert wilds of Inculta. Bag slung across his back and staff in hand, he sat against the edge of the stairwell, letting his bag slide off his shoulder and setting it at his feet. His hands trembled as he untied the leather bands and pulled it open. The blue, gold and white ceremonial vestments sat within, wrinkled, but clean. Apart from his staff, they were all that remained of his life before.
A violent scream echoed across the courtyard. Alu punched the side of the stairwell with all his might. He struck with enough force to splinter the stone; drops of blood fell from his hand where the masonry had cut into it, yet he struck it again. And again, and again, until the blood flowed down his forearm in thin streams. He leaned against the wall with his other arm, his head hung low, fogged eyes staring at the ground below him as he continued softly pounding his bloody fist into the edge of the stairs without thought. He turned and slumped against the wall, sliding down into a seated position. His wrists rested upon raised knees, hands hung limp, he leaned his head back against the stairs under the scar he had pummeled into them and stared up into the stars.

Gales smiled softly at the Head master's return. He said nothing, only calmly held on to him to help support his footing until he had all his strength back. The ill man had not much more to say on the walk to the banquet hall only responded in a soft 'Hmm'. His brow did rise at the mentioning of Belfair's familiar and he shared the same smile his head master wore. Again the two had started their pitiful display of banter, Meyer shook his head with his palm gripping his face. "Please, not infront of the students." He groaned, " You two need to set better examples of behavior, no?" He sighed softly and smirked just a little, the two were hopeless sometimes, but he had to admit it was much better to have them fighting than to have the silence, despite how annoying their arguing could get. Although Serenus' sweeter voice was just to mock Geoff, Meyer knew this and couldn't help but enjoy her tone. As they approached the hall, Meyer's sniffing brought a very tempting scent to his attention, almost enough to cause his mouth to water. "Indeed it smells delectable." Gales added to Geoff's admittance. After helping Belfair into his chair, he took his seat next to Geoff. Meyer began to fold his napkin over each utensil, pressed it against them and polished them clean before setting them back down next to the china before him. He fidgeted with the dinner knife on the table cloth, just staring down into the elaborate designs of the patterns.

"Better examples of behavior?" Geoff said as he pulled out his chair. "Tell that to little-miss-pointy-ears over here! Threaten me with poisons and tantalize the volatile hormones of the human male at the same time? Gotta say, Serra, you're sure off to..."
Geoff stopped, his sentence trailing off as the last of the students shuffled into the chamber. Under normal circumstances, the last student or two wouldn't have mattered to him, but when he saw one of the young men enter with his hand wrapped in a palm leaf that occasionally dripped blood he had to put put a hold on his comment.
"If you'll excuse me, I think I'll take care of this," he said.
He let out a gruff sigh and walked over to the student, one of the new pupils. He had to be. With the mohawk, tan skin, and tattoos on his head the kid wasn't someone that would be difficult to remember, and Geoff taught at the academy for quite some time and never saw anyone like this.
The youth skulked over to a table, about to sit next to one of the other new students, a tall young man with pale skin and silvery hair. Before he could sit, Geoff placed a hand on his shoulder. "Is there a reason you've got your hand wrapped in a bloody palm leaf?" he asked.
The youth looked up at him, his eyes cold and distant. "I...hurt it," he said.
"Well that's obvious. How?"
Silence.
"What's your name, kid?"
The youth bowed his head slightly. "Alu Kahuak, professor."
Geoff humphed, the irritation clear and present in his voice. "Is that so. Well, Alu Kahuak, why don't you take a walk with me?" He turned back to the other professors. "Don't wait up."
Geoff led the student into the hall and ordered him to stand with his back against the wall opposite him. "Hold out your hand, the one you hurt," he said. Alu did and turned away; a look of shame crossed his face. Geoff unwrapped the leaf and for a second blood poured out of it.
"God, kid! What the hell did you do to yourself?" he said, flicking his wrists to get the blood off his own hands.
"I lost my focus," Alu said.
"Lost your focus? What the hell is that supposed to mean? I mean, dammit kid, I'm no doctor but you had to do something pretty serious to get an injury like that on your first day and I want to know what it was!"
"I...punched stairs..."
Geoff blinked his surprise, jaw slightly slacked. "You punched the stairs?"
Alu bowed down. "I apologize, professor. I was angry, I miss my home. I punched the stairs in anger, cracked them and cut my hand."
Geoff brought his palm to his forehead. "I can't believe I'm hearing this," he said, shaking his head before looking back up to Alu. "You know, Bel's not gonna be happy about that at all."
"Bel?"
"Belfiar. You know, Belfiar Le'Minz, the headmaster."
Alu's eyes widened with concern. "I'm sorry, I did not mean anything by it!"
Geoff crossed his arms and leaned against the wall opposite Alu. "I know, I know. Look, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation as to why you...cracked the staircase with your bare fist. By the way, that is a pretty amazing feat that you managed to do that without breaking any bones, those stairs are solid marble."
Geoff stepped over next to Alu, taking the student's bleeding hand in his. He pulled a large hankerchief from his pocket and tied it tightly around Alu's open palm. "Look, we'll worry about it later. Right now, just get in there and get something to eat. Relax for a bit. You'll get settled in soon enough."
Alu nodded and stood. "Thank you, professor," he said. Before he returned to the dining hall, Alu pointed down at the blood. "What should we do about it?"
Geoff looked down at the bloody leaf and the droplets across the floor around them. "Ah, don't worry about it. I know a nice blonde girl that'll clean that right up for us," he said with a smirk. Alu nodded, and Geoff escorted him back into the dining hall. When Alu sat next to the taller student, Geoff took his seat, leaning over towards Serenus, his typical smirk upon his face. "Hey, I've got a job that's just perfect for a woman of your...erm...status. Seems our little student friend made a bit of a bloody mess. I'm sure you wouldn't mind mopping it up?"

The butterfly counts not months but moments,
Carlisle was quite a to-himself person, so him remaining fairly silent the whole time was of no surprise. It was evident he'd crack a small smirk although, especially to Geoff's rude comments to poor Serenus. Not that he supported the way the man treated her, just the simple fact that the two seemed constantly on one another's heels. He sat in his seat respectively, back erect, though he seemed to be spending more curious attention on the students instead of the food in front of him. Carlisle wasn't as strange as everyone might have imagined, he simply had a tendency to go off into his own little world, deep in thought, to the point it took someone to bump him in the shoulder just to knock him out of it. Curious bunch of students we have, he thought to himself. So many different cultures, people from the farthest points of the world. Yes, this would be a very intriguing experience.
"Hey, I've got a job that's just perfect for a woman of your...erm...stature. Seems our little student friend made a bit of a bloody mess. I'm sure you wouldn't mind mopping it up?" Carlisle caught Geoff's comment to Serenus, turning his head to look to the two. He smiled politely. "I would be willing to go and clean it up, Lady Serenus," he offered, mainly just to get under Geoff's skin.
and has time enough.

As the students ruffled together in a large masses of groups, the dark skined girl sat alone at the farthest table. Her blue eye stared at all of them for some time. If not occupied with that, her eye was normally closed. She reached out and grabbed her bread roll and started to chew on her last bit of food. Aiden was never one for social groups, if anything she avoided them because she simply did not like people.
Aiden had been there for some time. In fact when the doors first opened for the opening ceremony, she was there. Alone of course, and leaning against the wall. She watched all the people and smirked at the thought of having to spend her years of school with all the punks. Thats what she called them at least.
After finishing her bread, she stood up and picked up her tray of food. Time to make my existance known. She thought to herself, as she headed for the tables, where everyone sat. Her boots echoed throughout the room as she walked past the table, for the garbage. She looked at everyone through her eye, then smiled as she past the students up.
For anyone to see her right side, their eyes would widen at the sight of her arm missing and her eye bandaged. Even though she had a blind spot, she could guess what their faces said. The shock of seeing a girl without an arm or eye.
Aiden dumped her plate off, then turned away to lean against the wall. She had a bad habit of holding the spot where her arm used to be. Almost as if she had her arms crossed. But that was far from the case.

Geoff:
Geoff turned to face Carlisle and laughed heartily. He patted the art's teacher on the back and rubbed his forehead with his thumb and forefinger. "Come on, Carlisle, you should know me well enough to know even I wouldn't put a woman through a mess like that. I'll take care of it afterwords but..."
Geoff scanned the room briefly. He wanted to be sure he wouldn't be overheard. There was a lot at risk with this student, he was at a very volatile point in his life. "Listen, I'm gonna need to talk to you all privately after this. Something about that boy...concerns me, for want of a better phrase."
Alu:
Alu flexed his fingers. The pain had indeed faded, and the wounds weren't bleeding anymore. He took the bloody hankerchief off his hand and examined it. There were still splits to the skin and much of it was bruised, but otherwise he was alright.
"How did your hand become injured?" Sylvir asked. Alu turned his head slightly towards him, still flexing his hand and smiled.
"I punched the stairs," he said with a laugh. "I'm a bit stressed, smelled food from my homeland." He paused and reached over to scoop out some of the leaves. "It's called Gotra Leaf, my favorite food. It made me think of home, and I over...overreacted is the word I believe?"
Alu took a bite of the steamy leaves. They were delicious. The leaf itself had a light, grassy flavor and was rather sweet. He could taste the lemon it was steamed with, and there was a peppery flavor as well. Alu lifted a leaf and noticed that there was indeed ground pepper on it; a combination he'd never tried, but a delicious one none-the-less.
Alu's voice was muffled by the mouthful of food. "I actually cracked the stairs when I punched them," he said with a choked laugh. "The professor who took me out said that it was an 'amazing feat' that I broke no bones." Alu laughed again, taking in another mouthful of leaves before reaching out to grab a piece of fish.

Sylvir let out a hard one-breath laugh and gave Alu a hearty slap on the back, "HAH! Not to worry, Alu. We can always laugh each time we walk by those stairs now, eh?" He had finished the last bite of food, "If they were surprised by that I am certain that we will continue to show them more of what warriors such as we can do!" accompanied by another huff of a laugh. He paused to notice the brown-skinned girl missing an arm, missing limbs were nothing new to him, but he was not used to someone so short. He could notice she was feeling insecure about her injuries and nudged Alu, "Alu. See the girl walking by there? She has dark skin like yours. What say we go introduce ourselves, eh?" He picked his tray up and walked next to the small girl and dumped the few pieces of unedible food into the garbage, "Hail, small one!" he paused and smirked, kneeling down a bit to meet her eye to eye, "I apologize, is this a comfortable height for you?" He noticed still her attitude was a bit stand-offish, "I am Sylvir Fenrir, knight of the Hand of Angellus" he motioned a hand to Alu, awaiting his introduction.

Alu looked up to the girl Sylvir motioned towards. Indeed she did look like an Incultian, but certainly not like him. He did not need to look long to see that she was from Incul Autio. The way she held herself seethed with the entire sense of the city, a place he wished he hadn't had to go.
Alu rose and followed Sylvir to the girl. "Hail, small one!" he cried out. He could say that about anyone, but in this case... Small was definitely a good word for her. She was over a foot shorter than Sylvir, and nearly a foot shorter than Alu (who, incidentally, was already half a foot shorter than the Isslekt).
Alu choked back a laugh as Sylvir knelt down to face the girl. "I apologize, is this a comfortable height for you?" It was almost too much to bear! Alu literally bit his tongue to hold back his laughter. Polite. Be polite. She may be from the city, but she is still Incultian. "I am Sylvir Fenrir, knight of the Hand of Angellus." Sylvir motioned to Alu, awaiting an introduction.
Alu swallowed hard and let out a brief sigh. "Noi-kwa," he said with a slight bow. "Alu Kahuak, once of Owankanta." He stared hard into her good eye. "I trust that won't be a problem?"

Belfiar had been bustling about the room - neglecting to interact with the other professors, instead he had been chatting with the students, asking names, homelands, and speaking with each one shortly. His familiar bustled after him, trying to keep up. It was wearing a tiny apron that said "Kiss the Familiar" - a feeble attempt at humor on Belfiar's part.
Belfiar parried any and all questions from the students regarding his Avatar - he answered them with only a smile and a wink and an assurance of more surprises to come.
As the meal was drawing to a close, Le'Minz rejoined the faculty at their table. Looking about casually, he took out a cigar and gripped the end between his teeth. He spoke around it: "I'm a little concerned about security, my friends. This is the students' first night here - I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of them attempted to sneak out. Is there anything you would recommend? I don't wish to make them feel like prisoners, but were OmegaCorp to elect to make a raid, there is not much that we could do to protect any students that had ventured into Prometheus."

(OOC: You'll love me for this, Blitz ^_^ By the way, that was so mean, but funny, what you did, heheh)
Sylvir's face turned from a joking smirk to one of anger, gritting his teeth from the slight pain and from anger at the attack. He reached out and grabbed Aiden by the back of the neck, she could feel the frozen grip of his massive hand pin her against the wall as he leaned in, bringing his whole body in close to allow her to feel his cold aura over her whole body and he growled, "Normally I would take such jokes as friendly chatter, but an assault is not welcomed! I am willing to forgive you, but do not attack me again unless you expect to fight!"
