More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Theo was kind of relieved to hear the boys were not related to him. Despite not knowing him, he would have lost a brother. Or at least half-brother. Unless they used his mother for that. If that was the case, Theo would be capable to go to the nearest Daedelus facility and level it to the ground.

"So I basically have 5 sisters. including you." Theo said but mostly to himself." Wonder what else dad hasn't told me."

"Thea...what about your mother?"

Theresa said, "Daddy showed her to me once. She was a pretty lady in a big tube full of water."

She looked over Theonis shoulder and spotted Gidget from the side. She slowly raised her arm a bit and pointed at her.

"She kind of looks like that lady over there."

Oh no no no. This was just ******** up even for Daedelus! Theonis thought as he looked at Gidget when Thea pointed at her. He really hoped it was someone that looked like her. He feared the next question. Cold chills ran down his spine at the mere implication of it.

"Do you...all share the same mother?" He hesitantly asked.

Thea shook her head. "No. Daddy said that my sisters are...I think he said cones." she said in an unsure way.

She looked around her at the now destroyed lab. It wasn't the first time she had seen such destruction after waking up. Her eyes welled up with tears as she look sadly at Theonis.

"Did I do this? Was I bad?" she asked.

Despite the answer not being what he thought it would be,he still didn't like it.
When he saw the tears form in her eyes he couldn't help but feel bad for her. Even though it could have killed them,she had no control over it.

"It....wasn't your fault. Someone took control of you. It wasn't the other girl either." Theo said trying to comfort her as he pat her head a little.

Gidget had been paying half attention to what the girl was saying. She was in a hurry trying to salvage what she could to get some workable instruments. The frame job got her thinking about the ambush that happened to her and Ako a few hours before. There was something big going on.

"I don't like this. I do NOT like this." she muttered to herself as she used her constructive mind to patch together a working monitor. "We need to get everyone back. I need to check the exit logs to see who might be out there."

It took only a few seconds and she was able to get one monitor going. Luckily there were only three people that had logged out that day before the lock down.

"Damien, Deora, and Kerana. Trinity, could you please take Ako with you, find them, and then bring them back? I don't want to chance calling them."

Trinity's brows furrowed and rested her hand upon her chin and folded her other arm. "I'm not sure if that is wise, Gidget. We've undergone three attacks here already. It will be a matter time for the next one to hit."

"Ancient beings such as Eclipse my troops are not prepared to handle. You saw how that ghoul was able to waltz right in chopping people's heads off. There was no chance to respond and what alerted us to the situation was the high level of meta-human activity." You could tell she blames herself for not responding fast enough to save their lives.

Trinity's brows furrowed and rested her hand upon her chin and folded her other arm. "I'm not sure if that is wise, Gidget. We've undergone three attacks here already. It will be a matter time for the next one to hit."

"Ancient beings such as Eclipse my troops are not prepared to handle. You saw how that ghoul was able to waltz right in chopping people's heads off. There was no chance to respond and what alerted us to the situation was the high level of meta-human activity." You could tell she blames herself for not responding fast enough to save their lives.

Gidget was still fiddling with more components to try and salvage her back-up drives when she heard Trinity question her decision. She didn't know if it was the adrenaline or the hormones but she slammed her right fist into a ruined part of the console. It left a small dent and she whirled around to Trinity.

"Ako and I were attacked on the highway today. We were led into an ambush and almost killed by some kid wearing a mask like those girls in the video. We actually had to kill him to escape. Charles Ray suddenly asks to see his daughter, and then he lets off a cloud of his power that incapacitates us long enough to allow that floating kid, who from what I hear also has a mask, to thin either wipe us out or thin out our numbers. On top of all that, you're called out to deal with an abduction during a large portion of this. From what I've gathered, that ended with the island being blown out of the sky. And now the last of it's inhabitants have been killed."

"That a*****e on the TV planned all of this. He had plans on top of plans with more plans topped that making one big plot sandwich. This isn't chaos, it's calculated. That I can see. That I can anticipate. That is something I can do that no one here can. So long as I have all the pieces I can anticipate his moves. We're missing a lot of those pieces, but he's given me enough to start with."

"He isn't going to assault us directly, he'll use what resources he has. If he wanted to just wipe us out with his power he would've done that already. I have a bad feeling that he's running Daedalus now, and that's why they were ready for us. If the US Military joins them, it's going to take them time to amass and stage a strike force. We probably have between 18 to 24 hours."

"Those kids are out there alone right now, and they may have been killed or captured already. If they haven't, I can't call them because the enemy will trace it and find them. They are probably in the Rat's Nest block that Deora used to live in. You remember that place, right Trinity?"

"We've lost so many today, and one of those lost is going to break Kerana's heart. I'm not going to abandon them out there. We've lost too many, but I refuse to lose those three if I can help it."

She went silent for a moment, bowed her head, and placed a tender hand to her abdomen. "It's what I would want if my child was out there. Please, bring them home."

The flickering lights and sparks in the lab made their shadows dance, but there was something weird about Trinity's.

"Is...is your shadow bleeding? It's leaving black spots behind." she asked

Sil had been quiet since the attack. She had dispelled herself back into Trinity's shadow, but not before she caught one of the many rounds into her "chest." She was using all of her energy to try and heal herself, but it was being slowed down. She remembered earlier, when the girl had grazed her before. She couldn't heal then either.

"Damnit." she quietly cursed.

Trinity eyes widen as Gidget's initial reaction left a dent in the item she was looking at. She didn't think her posed question would upset her so, she thought it was a justified inquiry to pose. She didn't know that she and Ako were attacked by someone else wearing a similar mask while they went out today. As Gidget continued it started to make sense that this whole thing was one big contingency plan after another. Since the first part was to dwindle them down and distract them. What could possibly be the next step? With all Eclipse is capable of if he wanted us dead we would have been dead.

Then the lights were flickering she looked toward what Gidget had observed. "s**t! Sil!" As she reached for her shadow she started wondering how could she have let this happen. The bullets the girl had, she was able to hurt Sil before because she had absorbed the right metal. She dropped through her shadow to see if there was anything she could do to help her. With a wave of her arm she was able to grab the first aid kit she had stored in the Shadow Realm. Hopefully she could help stop the bleeding but it may be too late. She started applying the bandages. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Silhouette raised a hand and placed it on Trinity's. She slowly lowered her host's hands as she looked up at her with a weak smile.

"You sweet girl. You think bandages can stop this."

She moved her other hand and revealed the wound in her upper left chest. There was a gaping hole, but there were no organs. There were no muscles, bones, or anything else a living creature should have. It just wept black blood.

"Though you have given me this body, I am still a wraith. All that I possess is a heart."

"Do not fret. It looks a lot worse than it actually is. Had she hit my head or heart, we would not be talking right now. The effects of the bullet will cease in time. I just need to rest. I'm afraid I wont be of much help to you in battle for the time being. Not until I have healed."

Theo stood up, turned around and listened to their conversation. Gidgets gesture about her child was not lost on him.

He found it odd that a creature made of shadows was injured by a bullet. But then again a lot of strange s**t has been happening lately.

"She's right Trinity. Get them back. Don't argue with them. Besides...as strange as it sounds that Damian kid might know something about all of this."

Trinity wanted to try to help her even though it was doubtful that she could. Sil showed her the injury her eyes lowered and she said, "Oh, I see..." She was relieved when she reassured her that she could bounce back with some rest. She nodded and said "Understood."

She emerged from her shadow in time for Theonis to tell her to follow Gidget's order. She nodded at Theonis, "Alright Ako let's move out." she offered him her hand, preparing to travel through shadow to the area where they first met her.

Despite the answer not being what he thought it would be,he still didn't like it.
When he saw the tears form in her eyes he couldn't help but feel bad for her. Even though it could have killed them,she had no control over it.

"It....wasn't your fault. Someone took control of you. It wasn't the other girl either." Theo said trying to comfort her as he pat her head a little.

Thea reached up and tugged on Theonis' pant leg to get his attention. "Daddy told me one more thing to tell you. He said that the files he gave Gidget will have answers."

Theo looked back down at Thea and nodded.

"Alright thanks. Get some rest."

He then turned his attention to Gidget.

"Open up Leonard's files. Thea says the answers should be in there. I haven't even read all of it yet. There's just so much."

Gidget was had quickly returned to salvaging her equipment after her outburst. She looked up to Theonis and said, "Way ahead of you. Once your mother's name stopped that kid's assault I knew I had to look up the one part of those files I haven't looked at. I was delayed on it due to distractio s and the like, but the real stumbling block is the encryption. Not only is it password protected, but it's also voice encoded."

She finished by plugging a box with an absolutely absurd number of wires into the one working monitor. "Your voice, Theonis."

The screen clicked on and displayed the files. Gidget clicked the one labeled Progeny Directive.

A pop-up appeared with a message. It read, "Theo. Speak your mother's special name for you."

It was still amazing to see she could work with all of that. A file was labeled Progeny Directive.Guess that had to be him.

"Little devil." Theo spoke It was a bit embarrassing to say when he remembered why she always called him that..

One of Ako's mental fogs had decended again, the way they seemed to if he was given even the slightest rest. He wanted to react, to answer, to offer advice, to put a steadying hand on Gidget's shoulder as she shouted about saving what lives she could. Try as he might, he could not make his body move.

Why was this happening? Why was his consciousness fading away like a flickering flourescent? Was it another effect of the meteor? He was the oldest of teh affected he personally knew, besides Ray, who'd recently become a fog himself. The older ones Trinity was in contact with didn't have bodies of their own anymore, either. Was that the fate of those touched by the meteor cursed glow? To burn brightly with powers unimaginable to normal humans, only to turn to ash twice as fast?

He looked to Gidget and wondered if he could bare to see it hapen to her, or to let her see him go first.

Maybe that was all in his head, idle musings that drew him away from the matters at hand and down dark twisting paths of speculation. He willed himelf to reach out towards the light coming in through those eye sockets, to take control of his mortal coil again and move.

He reached an arm to Gidget, wrapping an arm around her waist in one of the few moments she wasn't moving. Without a word he kissed her lips. All too quickly for his own heart, he released her again. He wished to hold on to her warmth for a bit longer, to help keep the fog away, but there was work to do.

Silently he stepped to Trinity and took her hand. With a deep breath and a nod, he was ready.
